Waw Euge, you mix everything yourself!
Yeah the solo album was the first commercially relased album where I did everything by myself: wrote the songs, played, recorded, mixed & mastered 😎👌.
@@EugeValovirta230V R E S P E C T!!!👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
This is a masterclass in home music recording! It sounds really good. Thanks for sharing your tips and tricks. Those drum tracks sound pro. I wish I had something like this 20 years ago.
Glad to hear this! Thanks! 🙏☺️
Love your vids man. Glad I discovered ur channel
Thanks man! Glad to hear!
Great video! The mixing tutorial was great.
Glad to hear! Thanks!
Interesting and informative video as always! Have a great week 🤘🤘
Thanks man! Likewise 🤟
Thanks for sharing, I learn a lot! It sounds really good!!,Much appreciated
Glad to hear this! Thanks!
...when in SD3's mixer view, if you would like to audition a drum at the same time, you can press cntr + alt and a small window will appear with the currently selected drum from your kit that you can pin anywhere in your mixer view.
Thanks for the tip! 🙏😎
Enthusiasm is contagious (I believe in terrain theory, so blah blah boogeyman viruses 🦠), and yours, Euge, is evident. You exemplify the eternal youth in ways I wish more people would, or could. Prefer real drums, though! 🤘😆
😎🙏🤟
I’ve realized how far out of the recording loop I’ve been the last several years. Been playing guitar 40 years, I’m up to speed there, but recording technology has whipped past me and I’m trying to play catch-up. Thanks for shining light on my weak points.
I have work to do. Great video🤘🤓
Thanks! 🙏🎼🎸
Cool bro!!!!
Thanks!
You are wellcome E!!!!
That was a killer tutorial. Any chance we will ever get to see you do a start to finish “from jam to song” type of video?
Great idea \m/
Thanks! Yeah I’m actually planning to do a 4 - 5 episode series about home recording: gear, writing, recording, mixing & mastering.
@@EugeValovirta230V that would be awesome.
Glad to hear!
Pepita is on his small laptop in Lapland watching your videos :)
😎👌
Sounds great! I love SD3's Mixer; you don't have to route a dozen or more tracks within your DAW... if you don't want to ;) American Class A is great for rock guit. Love the FET on the drum bus, but if you have ELI Trak Pak it's just as awesome; great "Distressor" emulation.
Thanks! Yeah I have all the additional Console packs and they’re all great but I like the SSL the most as the general platform. The FET is indeed great for drums and I’ve used the ELI every now & then on bass tracks and it’s great indeed. I’ve sometimes even used the ELI compressor on my mix bus if I want something quite different than the Waves’ SSL Buss Comp 😎👌.
You should be producing bands Euge. Like a lot of bands. 🤘
Yeah I’ve thought about that every now & then but haven’t ventured yet 😎.
Awesome video and tracks. Will need to check out your solo album. Would you mind sharing your SD3 preset that you used for the first song?
Thanks! Can’t remember what I used on this one and don’t actually know how to share them since I’ve pretty much ”build” them from the raw drums.
it's known for years but good demo
Thanks! 😎👌
Wow EV I didnt know you have Satriani and Vai in you
Not intentionally but I’ve listened both a lot, especially Satriani 👌😎.
Huge fan from india😇 please do a video how to map the sd3 into the cubase drum editor mapping.
Thanks! I’m not sure if I’ve ever done any mapping ’cos I think it just works like a charm. Or maybe I’ve forget it 😁.
Hi Euge, any chance on a video about DjinnBass from you? I think virtual bass might be very interesting for many of us viewers. Thanks!
Thanks for the suggestion. I use / play always a real bass so I son’t have any experience of virtual bass ”programs” but maybe I take a look someday 😎.
Can you tell me where I can see the settings for your library?
As always, very interesting and useful information. Do you know if there are any Drum Programs/features that analyze the other parts in a recording and attempt to "customize" the drum part/beats so it matches the "actual song" it is being used on?
I used to play drums, and I there were hundreds of nuances and changes I made per minute that were specific to the particular song I was playing on. These included changes in tempo, swing, volume, position strikes, accents, feel, grove, etc. that would be horrendously time consuming to program. But, if there were some sort of software feature that analyzed the rest of the music, I think a far more natural/real sounding could be achieved rather quickly. What do you think? Thanks
Thanks! Yeah Apple’s Logic Pro DAW has that kind of virtual drummer with different ”drummers” who play / analyze the parts based on their drumming style; there’s for example a metal, rock, punk & pop drummers.
But you can emulate that in SD3 well too by choosing how it plays a certain beat, fill etc. I realised that I forgot to show that on the video.
@@EugeValovirta230V Cool! I didn't know if virtual drummer software had advanced that far or not. Thanks 👍
Yeah it’s pretty mind blowing nowadays 👌. You’re welcome 🤟
Hey man can you go over your mix on this song - guitar tracks and panning?
Sure: two rhythm guitar tracks panned hard Left & Right. Lead guitar center with stereo delay (left & right sides with different delay times) & pitch shift to widen it a bit more and melody guitars panned about 60- 70% left & 60- 70% right with a bit of basic delay and that’s it 😎👌.
@@EugeValovirta230V Your tracks sound great Euge - thanks
Thanks man! 🙏👌
Softube plugins are far superior to other brands especially when it comes to guitar amps and cabinets.
I agree 👌.
