You're making insane-level progress man. Its interesting to see how a guitarist/drum programmer with clear rhythmic understanding can adapt to playing a kit so quickly. Bravo
It's like watching a sim racer hop into a real car. Somee wobbles and insecurities starting out, followed by insanely fast progress when things start to click...
Dude, you are learning REALLY fast! Your progress is legitimately inspiring to me, to learn to play drums. I've played guitar since I was 14, and I turn 50 in a couple months. I just never really thought about trying to learn drums. I've always relief on actual drummers. Thank you for all the videos you post!
Man this video is really tight bro seriously, I love the fact that you are so driven that's how I am if I like something I pick it up and I'm going to learn it no matter how painful LOL.. I'm going to be real honest with you man the thing I like most about your channel is whenever I watch your videos I feel like I know you on a personal level even though we've never met you make the viewer feel that comfortable you're awesome dude I hope you yours had a good Thanksgiving yesterday do you even celebrate Thanksgiving over there? sorry to sound so ignorant...
Why neither one of you mentioned the fact that Sweden don't celebrate Thanksgiving that's from the pilgrims in 1621 from the first harvest is where Thanksgiving come from is beyond me, I would have jabbed at me for the Thanksgiving remark but hey what do I know I'm just Ola englund's biggest fan 😂
Hard work pays off! Humbling to see your progress, super stoked to see your progress, really gives me inspiration to try new musical things no matter how hard they are. Great channel, can't say enough good things about the stuff you do.
You got pretty good in a month. Already look more relaxed while playing and your double-kick is starting to sound cohesive. I bet after 6 months you’ll have very good 4-limb independence. I only play guitar, but I like watching drummers and would probably love learning to play a kit. I feel like I would abuse blast beats, once I reach that level. 😆 Keep going!👍🏽
I’m sure Ola has played around on drums before getting this set. I respect the drive to learn the drums on a more dedicated schedule. Your doing great man! Keep it up!
Come on man, when will ppl stop complaining about their guitar playing... It isn't that difficult... It just depends on the track or whatever, you work on.
Guitar is my first instrument, but I wanted to learn drums for a long time. I've been playing off and on for 3-4 years now. I'd be playing everyday if I didn't live on the top floor of an apartment complex, but I love it just as much as I love guitar. When you have a strong love for music it translates to other instruments, so I see that with the progress you're making. It's incredible, and I'm a big Gojira fan. I'll tell you a song that really helped me coordinate with the hi-hat. L'Enfant Sauvage has a really sick groove in the verse, and it's great for applying your rudiments with the pattern between the snare and the ride. It helped me with my ghost notes too, so give it a shot if you want. It was quite the challenge for me.
I think this is the most honest demo of both the kit and the library because of your early journey to drumming. The "adolescence" can be heard in the dynamics much like just listening to a beginner guitarist. All that being said, I started at drums, not my thing, I am barely adept at guitar to record my own ideas so this was more of an observation than a critique or anything negative towards anyone. Love you ola!
Playing drums well must come naturally to great guitarists. It's like in that fan cam video from a Band-Maid concert in London where all the members have a go at the drum kit, and Kanami plays it surprisingly well.
I've been playing guitar for almost 30 years and always wanted to play the drums. Seeing this makes me want to actually seriously consider doing it. Inspirational, you are awesome Ola 🤘
My first instrument was drums and I love it. But now I'm trying to branch out into learning guitar. So I feel your pain Ola ! Drums came to me so naturally. But guitar is kicking my ass ! You're doing great though. You're well on your way !
I love your willingness to embarrass yourself and make me realize the narcissism is not gonna help with the talent issue. I won’t be wasting my time with this in the future. WOW
Ola,boss just awesome to see, you nailed it... How could you learn that's kind of stuff too early!!!!!!just awesome........ Double kick, brust beat... Not easy for bigenner,,, you are genius....love you
Sounds great, Ola! I purchased the pack a couple weeks ago and have been loving it also; not only for the incredible tones but the mixing mode gives more power than Ezdrummer2.
Hell yeah Ola you got some skills brother. I started with drums and play guitar now . May have to get me a kit like you got. My Ludwig drums got washed away in a bad flood back in 97 so I switched to playing guitar a few years later. Lol
Shit dude.. your drumming is coming along so fucking quickly. Great job! I've always wanted to play drums, especially e-drums so I could use stuff like this.
hey, how does your kontakt recognize your hi-hat edge? I do have the VH-10 and only the tip midi notes get recognized with the different positions of the hihat cc.
I wonder, with all those speaker cabinets the mics use, how can they level out the volume levels. Cus there's the green, red, and then red. Or maybe the megaboard has more than two ultimate volume controls to balance. Yeah but one side over the other, because of the ohms of the cabinet speakers....maybe that might not be accurate on the mixer leader boards with the upward/downward sliding equalizer controls for each side evenly.
So u have only been playing for a month or so? Man, ur catching on quick brother!! That’s an excellent kit to learn on too! Great job!! When u switch to acoustic drums, there will be a small transition, in dynamics, and tuning, but u got it my friend!! Keep up the great work!!
Samples sound great. And idk what kind of previous drum experience you've had, but for only having that kit for a month, you've picked it up quickly. Great job.
Better than me at drums, good work bro - It's funny though because I imagine being in the room with you without headphones on myself... I'd just see an Ola hitting random plastic circles that go tunk tunk tunk (I've had a couple digital sets).
im currently going through the same thing just flipped, i’ve been playing drums since i was 4 and i started playing guitar a few years ago. they’re both such opposite instruments that it takes a while to find your voice on one after you’ve mastered the other
Bro!!! You've moved past allot of the teeth cutting most ppl go through. You're doing amazing! I bet this time next year... you'll have an album full of you own drums, maybe some guitar to... solo album!?!?!?

It is fun! Lots to learn 🤘🤘
