A lot of the complaints like the plastic on the doors, the electric door on the back, the cup holders on the back are present on the GT version plus a lot of other features which for some reason she makes it like its non existing. There are sacrifices when picking up the entry level option....

Thank you for mentioning about the lack of auto hold and it's sluggishness when you press the pedal down. Believe me anyone driving this car will curse out loudly because of these two issues. It's so irritating to keep the brake pedal pressed down on traffic lights and the dangerous lack of confidence that comes when you know that you won't be able to escape a busy roundabout because your car will not respond to your pushing the accelerator. That too at £34K! Don't know why many reviewers do not mention these extremely important features. So good work auto social 🎉

Repainting it bit by bit as each panel the paint starts to bubble. Mercedes refuse to pay for it. Even pur mechanic has told us to get rid of it. So disappointing. Just cant make my mind up what to buy. My old Merc i had for 10 years and was a great car. Sold it to a guy at work who has had it 6 years and he just sold it to his neighbour. I resisted buying the 2023 or 2024 Peugeots simply because they are using the wrong engines. I knew they had discontinued the Diesel engines (2022 was the last) so I looked for a 3008 late model with the diesel engine. Found a demonstrator with the 2.0L diesel engine. $A20,000 saving on new price. Mine is a 2022 3008GT HDi (2.0L diesel) I don't know if they provide this engine in the UK, however, despite being at least 15 years old, it is light years ahead of the current engines. Plenty of power, indestructible. Both specialist mechanics I spoke to recommended this engine.

I found your review very informative but like so many others you did not cover the all round visibility especially for when driving around town and when parking in tight spaces.
When my wife was looking for her latest car, the rear view and the parking assistance systems were high on the “must have” list, well above the number of cup holders.
The 360 degree camera systems on the Hyundai,Kia and BYD are great examples and in the case of the BYD’s it is standard across the entire range and was a major factor in her choice of the BYD Atto 3 Design.
I have noticed a general increase in the amount of open storage bays in modern cars. While this looks great when empty, the serious downsides are the likelihood of loose items causing hazards such as a drink can under the brake pedal or just a distraction for the driver. One other negative is the increased likelihood of occupants leaving valuables on display when they exit the car increasing the probability of break ins and thefts. Very few reviewers ever mention security, immobilisers, alarms, and connections to mobile Apps, such as the Tesla Sentry system. I realise that you don’t want your videos to be too long but these issues are important.

Manufacturing, disposal, recycling etc. It can be clean on charging depending on the source but selling the idea that it is eco friendly is only a marketing tactic. I can't really see the point in mild hybrids. They're just ticking the box of "hybrid" but don't really help out a lot.
If you're really going for a hybrid, get a plug in hybrid as these can do 100km on a charge these days and you have the existing service stations for petrol on long journeys.
Until the charging infrastructure catches up, it's the only option. Public opinion agrees and this is why it's the biggest growing sector in UK car sales.

Self-charging hybrids are an even better option especially if you have no access to a drive or garage to charge, plug-ins are fine until you want to go on a decent run then after 40 or so miles you are lugging around a lot of extra weight and they become quite inefficient and public chargers are very expensive, my car (a Honda Civic EHEV) does well over 60mpg on a run and NEVER needs charging.

Covered over 90k in 3 years and to be honest wouldn’t want another one. It ate tires had numerous issues, biggest issue costing £10k when the rear axle exploded and needed replacing. Having now moved on to a RAV4 plug in hybrid having covered 76k in 2 years it drives like it has just come out of the showroom. Yes it has to be serviced every 10k but these services are cheaper than the 3008 and in the time I have had the RAV4 I haven’t had a single issue. I know which I would rather own. There is a reason people speak highly of there Toyotas reliability and that because they are so bloody good at what they do.

Having tried a couple of Peugeots, I can't get past the awful steering wheel and the fact that I can't see most of the important parts of the dash when I sit in my ideal driving position.
What's is wrong with having a round wheel.
Renault do it better, in my opinion

@@AutoSocialUK Completely disagree. I am 6ft tall and my grandson is 6ft 3". Took us a very short time to find a good driving position. Many people don't seem to be able to move the steering wheel and seat adjustments in tandem.. I would never go back to the big steering wheel. Have seen the issues with UK reviewers (I live in Australia), when I bought my 2022 3008 I specifically looked at the issue. My wife is 5ft 2" so we are quite different in stature. We had no trouble and we asked the salesmen what the issue was. He gave a two answer. THE DRIVER - and I agree.
BTW I bought a Diesel (2.0L)- much better engine and gearbox set up.
