I’m not a slalom skater but I think a lot of disciplines can learn from and incorporate slalom for finer edge control. Thinking of those next gen hockey players who find videos like these and use it to form subtle new techniques.
hey tiago, just wanted to thank you for you wonderful videos. I live in a very small town in Australia with no skating rink, so I have to practice in my local park. Every time I put on my skates I think of you!. The other day I tried to pull the basic 'balance on one wheel' trick and even though it felt so wrong/incorrect to even attempt, I just kept thinking "hey tiago learned how to skate by just playing around and seeing if he could do things, so I might as well have a go". I also learned how to kneel down and balance on two wheels by ACCIDENT because I was trying to imitate you & your friends from the powerslide vs powerstop video (I had NO IDEA what to do hahaha). Though I haven't got anyone to do social skating with, it's comforting to see others around the globe loving skating and getting involved in the community through UA-cam. Thanks so much for your wide variety of videos. You're so friendly and thoughtful! I've only been skating for 1 year so the fact that you've been skating for a few years makes me hope that, if I keep practicing, I'll be just as good one day :) :) :) i had a question for you, if you have time: do you listen to music while you skate - and if so, what?
I used to be a hockey player that recently picked up cardio skating to lose weight. I lost 70 lbs and I was thinking of getting into aggressive but this video just convinced me to get a slalom setup next instead. I am really impressed with this tutorial. Thanks.
literally ! man the best inline rollerskating channel ever, so far i have seen. The others just show more of their skating not tutorials. Moreover, nice video presentation and everything ...... hope more (tutorials) from u !
bro, your channel is spectacular. In America, the passion is dead for this sport, so I've never had people to slalom with. I'm trying to teach myself, and OF COURSE the first thing it goes to is your channel. When I wanted to figure out what skates were the best in the game, you led me to my beloved FR1's, and because of you, I now feel confident that that my new FR3 310's will be right for my urban/suburban environment from a maneuverability and speed standpoint. You're also a great host. So enthusiastic about what I love. You've been a very reliable ambassador for the most underrated sport in the world. Keep it up, dude!
Great video! In general, these are just great tips for skating, period. Even if someone didn’t end up getting into slalom these drills he is demonstrating are sooooo useful the help new skaters get control of their skates! Keep it up, Tiago!
this video was so cool! i love the way he teaches how to start slalom, it feels so simple and doable! i love that he says theres no rules and do what you want, it feels so chill! :)
Wow it's a nice video! Recently I found your channel and started to practice slalom, I used to do aggressive :) And it's amazing that you added Japanese subtitles!! Most Japanese people don't understand English well, but I can show my friends this video 😍 日本にはインラインスケーターが少ないから、もっと広めたい!!
Loved this! I'm always fascinated by slalom skaters and think to myself 'Gawd, I wish I could do that. I'll never be able to even get started. :( " But Ambroise made it look so simple and his words were so encouraging that I actually want to set some cones up and get started!
I had to seek in a bunch of different videos to find what This Guy synthesized in one. Congrats! Hopping to se other tutorial videos about slalom here!
Thank you so much Tiago! Camera work was amazing by the way I struggled a lot when trying to find a quality beginner slalom tutorial, and here you have made the best one!
Yaaaayy! I've been hoping we'd have an intro to slalom! I always wanted to learn slalom but didn't know where to start. Thank you so much for making this! :D
Hey Tiago, just thought I'd mention that I got into full rockered setup cause of you and it feels absolutely beautiful, although i find stopping a bit harder because i'm so mobile
7:50 : “you need to avoid doing this, because then you will die” that was pretty clear, thanks for reminding 😂😂 I was searching for nice tricks to start and it was exactly my expectations, great video
Nice camera work in this video. Great to see a very high quality introductory slalom video.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching, and learning about, the slalom! I was a very fluid and nimble demonstration.
Great video! In general, these are just great tips for skating, period. Even if someone didn’t end up getting into slalom these drills he is demonstrating are sooooo useful the help new skaters get control of their skates! Keep it up, Tiago!
