Did you know SOME people have extra free public videos on their Patreon? Completely unrelated note, have a look at mine: www.patreon.com/GamerZakh Bonus, if you sign up at the $1 tier NOW you lock in $1 for everything forever. Exclusive let's plays are running there (including this SC2K one) and the price will go up soon BUT not for anyone already on the $1 tier who will stay at $1. Thank you!
Ah, you've got to love this old art-style and the music! I played a SimCity game once or twice in my life as a kid, had no idea what I was doing and stopped playing for that reason :P
Well, okay Zakh, you've been entertaining me for years, loved the Zeus films! I'm seriously poor, but anyone can go $1 a month..... Aw, it's Christmas, I might even sign up at the cup of coffee level. Please excuse my warped sense of humour, love ya buddy!
I wish I could experience playing this game for the first time again. It was at the mall at the Learning Center or Learning Store, something like that. They had PCs with Maxis games on display that you could just sit at and play. Getting on one that wasn't occupied was pure luck. My mind was just blown by how detailed and big and advanced everything felt. I was 9 or 10... Nothing can beat that feeling playing retail kiosks with new video games id never get until long after they were out. Everything always seemed massive and endless in demos. Like the world was finally digitized in games and they were all limitless.
We owned a PSOne copy of the game over two decades back. Didn't know how to play it back then, but I usually just look at pre-made scenario cities and watch it getting demolished by natural disasters. Also I found the arcologies cool, and wished for it to return on future games (unfortunate it didn't).
Now you have to drive though your city with streets of sim city and its 10fps glory. (that one really annoying to run, used to run well on linux/wine though)
ah, remember fighting with my older brother for graphic card that could run it Trident 512 - yes, 512kB of memory to run this :D how little we needed to have fun :D
You can subscribe at the $100 tier on Zakh’s Patreon page in order to request 2 hours of Settlers 2 gameplay, if you really want a stream on it: www.patreon.com/gamerzakh :)
Oh sorry missed this. I do have an unfinished playthrough of Settlers 2. Two missions left but mission 8 really burnt me. Can you play the campaign in Return to the Roots yet? Settlers 2 is on my list of games to finish but I don't think I have the time to deal with the bugs or slow speed. And yeah the $100 tier on Patreon is just for when someone has to have me play something but it's not like I don't want to play Settlers 2, it's just too time consuming generally speaking.
@GamerZakh I'm glad to know, you don't shy away from the seas 😂 It's sad we have to attend to these problems, because the publishers and developers are too lazy/uninspired to fix these things themselves. The seas have stored much knowledge and information we would never have acces to anymore 😊
It's not even the seas here. As a completely unrelated note, the website which is an archive of the internet has a DMCA exemption. It's a recognised library and as like the past you can borrow CDs from a library.
I'm know I'm lazy and spoiled, but I am stuck on UA-cam. Would love to see the LP, but opening another tab is just way too much asked of me. I wish I was kidding...
@@GamerZakh Yes I totally get that. And you're right... LPs tend to drop horribly in viewer numbers the longer it goes on, so... It's understandable. Good luck and if UA-cam messes up horribly one day, I'll for sure stop by :)

Stop playing because run out of money and only small tax income

Hey thank you so much for the consideration, that's really kind of you and I'm glad you're enjoying it.
You're making me miss my younger years! This was such a fun game to play.
I played that a lot! One time, it glitched, and I had a city with an education quotient that was ridiculously high. Great times!
maybe 30 teachers is the max for 1500 students, that will be more realistic XD
Haha that does feel more right than wrong

Thank you for sharing this! What a classic
I loved this game back in the day. Havent played it in so long
Woah, haven't seen this one around for quite a while :D One of the games I've not only played on PC, but also on my Playstation 1 ❤
Like your style, you got another subscriber :)

Ever since I saw the game "Beach Life" only a city or town with people matters to me any more.

Hope GOG adds in SimEarth: The Living Planet!
GOG = Preserves our beloved games, buy all the good old games there!
Didnt have a computer to play SimCity 2K on so I played it on my PSX.
There are "X" installers for every old sim game. Inc Simcity 2000 and Simchopter. Works wonders on Win 11 even
Still hoping for a non-disastrous SimCity sequel
When are you playing through the revised Augustus campangie? It amazing!!!!!
GOG has just recently updates Simcity 2... but I have not tried it yet.
Can you get Hooligans storm over europe to work well on windows 11 please?
I have an original SimCity 2000 Spec. Ed. 1996 CD. XD
That would do it haha, the installer can use that CD.
It's good but no match for SimSandwich.
Reticulating splines ❣
Im playing Katamari Damacy Caesar 😅😅edition
PLEASE PLAY SETTLERS 2

@GamerZakh even better ! :). Just a problem I have with current retention of old pieces of code 😁
I'm know I'm lazy and spoiled, but I am stuck on UA-cam. Would love to see the LP, but opening another tab is just way too much asked of me. I wish I was kidding...
I can understand that, no worries. I'm just trying to find a way to make things viable. If you ever feel like popping over it'll be there.
