      Super explanation of the three tiers. Is there a provision for an applicant to change tiers? For example, if I apply and then get approved for Silver, but decide one year later that I wish to upgrade to Gold, or even Platinum, and have the monies ready for transfer, will they approve this?

    I absolutely love this video. I've lived in the west my entire life, first in the states then in Canada. For the last 3 years I have been seriously contemplating moving. There are so many reasons why I want to leave, but the most important one to me is that Canada does not align with my faith and principals as a muslim. I visited Malaysia when I was 19 and loved it so much. I've been planning a trip to southeast asia with my family in Sept... and I am doing so because I want to show them what life could be like somewhere else, how the quality of our life can improve so drastically by changing locations. I want to live in a place where wearing the hijab is normal, hearing the azan is a part of daily life, where there are ample places to pray... I feel our parents moved to the west wanting to give us a better life and alhamdulilah they have, but as the years pass these places no longer serve us... in fact they've begun to feel suffocating. Thank you for sharing this information about the new visa process!!! I am so glad to know they've made getting residency easier. It's something I definitely want to look into in the near future.

      @OliveDreams: I sense ungratefulness in your statement made here. You would never have the money or wealth that you have accumulated living either in Canada or Australia to live comfortably in Malaysia if you lived in Malaysia all your life. The reason your parents moved to Canada or Australia is for the opportunities. Now that you had them & created wealth you can spend your twilight years comfortably in Malaysia because you have the money. People who have lived all their lives is Malaysia don’t have the money you have to enjoy themselves. You are ungrateful & won’t be happy anywhere. It’s stifling why? You can practise your own religion anywhere in Canada or Australia, but no you are not happy with that & the reason is that you want everyone else to conform to your views, ideas & beliefs. Stop being a whinging fool.

Korea for many years and love Asia, missed it during the 3 years back in the US (after retiring from my job in Korea). At first we thought we would move to Makati, Philippines as we have been there many times and is very American-friendly, but we stayed in KL, Penang and Langkawi for 3 months. KL is a very well developed city, at undeveloped cost of living...amazing. Transportation (very important to us) is one of the best in the world. The diversity issue, you spoke very well of, is sublime. Malay/Islam, Chinese/Buddhist and Indian/Hindu...all good. The people are the friendliest in SE Asia, they make eye contact and you can see they are all good & genuine people. We are also not done with our slow travel (currently in Da Nang, Viet) but I already miss Malaysia! Can't wait for the new MM2H program to be released, I already have an agent. By the way Penang is fantastic and when we get a bit older, will move there from KL as it is a bit slower...thanks.

    One thing to keep in mind though, tropical diseases like the mosquito borne dengue and the likes are still prevalent in the country, especially in Kuala Lumpur and the surrounding areas. If we want to apply silver program. 100k.
    At the end of 5 yrs , do we have to increase and add another 100k? (Total 200k)
    Or we can just keep that 100 k in bank and apply to renew for another 5 yrs.

  • @FrancoisT
    @FrancoisT 3 місяці тому +22

    What we heard is that the new MM2H regulations are still under review and seemingly was announced too early. At the moment they are apparently not processing anything and await cabinet approval and the MM2H agents do expect an income requirement to be added. Also note that the permanent Residency under the top tier is not guaranteed, it remains an application and insiders believe it is not going to be that straight forward. Malaysia is indeed a wonderful country and hope they get the MM2H back on track.

    @sairathemusafir for these MM2H programs you mentioned renewals after the term for example 5yr silver option. Would we need to keep $100k in the account to renew? Let’s say we spend $50k after the first year to buy property, do we need to add that $50k back into the account before we can renew for another 5 yrs?

    This could have been more informative IMO. Like what do you get with this visa program is it just temporary residence? Then how do you renew it and can that money be taken out if you need to without affecting your visa status? Are you allowed to work there full time, is healthcare included or provided by the government? Are Children’s education and tuition covered by the government, how are you taxed, is there any language differences we should be aware of etc?

      English is widely used in Msia. Everything important (signboards, apps, menus, instructions, manuals etc etc) is written in english. If u need to go to the hospital, clinics, dentists. police station, government agencies, law firms, or u need plumbing service, AC repairs, car mechanic or anywhere really, if u know english, there won't be an issue. There are also multiple english speaking local radio stations & tv channels, too many I can't even give give a number. Basically, u can live a great life in Msia without learning the local languages. But if u do learn a local language, even better but there's no real need to
