The term 'global village' sounded so trite in the 90s but that's literally what we have here. My awesome remote neighbor Jim just showed me these great tricks and I'm off to get a vise and press and get started on the Charger's front end!! Thank you!!!!
Thanks for very informative videos. I removed the outer sleeves on my Aussie Valiant by running 4 beads of weld longitudinally inside the bush. And a couple of radial spot beads at the end to use a drift against. The bush shrinks enough that it almost falls out. Just be careful not to weld through the bush to the housing!
Thank you for making this video. I got a 1 3/8 tap and successfully removed the outer sleeve from the control arm. I also found a better solution for removing the inner sleeve from the pin by using my bearing splitter.
I'm not certain if it matters. I found one on Ebay and bought it. A friend of mine is the one who told me about using the tap. I still like the welded washer trick better, but I also have a solid piece of steel that fits the sleeve perfectly. I weld hat to the sleeve and press it out normally.

Does it matter if the 1-3/8” tap is taper, plug or bottom? I’m trying to order one just wanna make sure. Thanks

Jim do you rebuild lower control arms and upper control arms for folks. I am interested if you do for my mopar
Yes, I do. $75 per arm plus parts.
Good video....keep up the good work buddy 👍👍
Thank you for this!
You need focus your camera up close.
what ton press do you need for this job. would 12 ton work.
Mine is a 12 ton. The newer Harbor Freight 12 ton press is smaller than mine, but would still work for the bushings.
Cool, now if I can just send my LCAs to you and include a postage-paid return envelope and let you handle this, I will gladly pay your fee, sir! lol
Won't quite fit in an envelope, but I do offer this service...
