- In this video I show you how to set up the Google Chromecast for the first time. If you have any questions, please ask in the comments below. I will be coming out with additional tips/tricks for future videos as well.
The Google Chromecast works great with UA-cam, Netflix, Hulu and more!
I always power my chromecast with the usb slot in the back. If your tv does not have a usb port, you can use the included power plug.

I have installed everything correctly but still cannot cast. I tried reinstalling/resetting the chromecast 3-4 times. And after set up, it just goes back to being "cannot be detected"

Mirascreen is different from chromecast it cannot be detected by UA-cam
I bought that product from the internet with the same case but with a different operation system 🤷🤦 but it's ok

Very informative. Thanks. I have been using a free casting app, but its so slow and a pain in the backside with ads etc. I will now order myself a Chromecast, which is just what I was looking for.
My worst purchase ever it must have been shipped S LBOF C slow boat from China ! What do I have to do to get my money. Back? Have tried every thing to get working .the advertising was great I thought all Ihad to was plug in as the young woman did in the advertising

In Canada, if you have an Android phone you’ll need to contact your phone provider to get them to turn on location services
Can you exit out of the app on your phone while casting? I don't think it'd really be worth buying if you have to render your device unusable throughout the duration of what you're watching, better to just took up the hdmi between the PC and TV
Yes, you can do other things while casting.
After set up how long did the update take? I seem to be stuck there I did receive a code that it was set up but due to the Wi-Fi connection was not the same but that was before it did the update now we're just stuck with update spinning
+jose camposano A minute or two, max. You can switch your phone's wifi to match the wifi of your Chromecast. Or, remove the Chromecast in the Google Home app and try to re-add it.
So, if someone dont have a smart tv...One should buy a chromecast..?
If you want to watch UA-cam/Netflix, It is one option, yes.

Classic lol. Plugging in USB... doesn't seem to fit, so you flip it and try again but it doesn't fit O.O Flip it once more, now it fits :/

Nope you don't really. Except you need access to Google Play to use apps like Zinitevi

What happens when it wont connect to wifi ? Thats been my whole problem
Depends on the wifi type. Two layered connections (like in a hotel or a guest wifi at a place of business) won't work. Also it won't work with the 5 Ghz types.

Of course WiFi is required. It is using internet to mirror your content or internet using screen to the TV.

I'm the same. When I try to connect to the wi-fi network I connect but the network is one that you need to enter a username and password, however, the app does not prompt me to input it so I'm connected to the wi-fi but with no internet. someone, please help.

Chromecast just cast whatever you do on your iphone after connecting it so may I recommend you to buy raspberrypi it’s turn your tv to full desktop by connecting with hdmi cable

@The EmRôs Show connect both devices to the same internet connection. The Chromecast device and your phone. Or make a hot spot from the internet that's on your phone so you can connect the Chromecast to the phones internet. So they are on the same internet connection.

I got one to binge watch a ton of UA-cam's videos. I then tried gamaing on it and it turned out to be a beast I use it a ton with a Elagato to record the tv screen witch gits the game play. So this $35.44 gadget help me a ton.
What has happened to people's spelling skills. You misspelled "gets" it isn't spelled "git", you may want to spend less time "gaming" (that's how it's spelled not how you spelled it). And go back to school, the ability to spell is an important intelligence benchmark, IQ. If not you'll just be stupud.

Warden1S , my understanding is the firestick is the best for gaming and for the most games. Other than that I'm a fan of Roku for everything else. However I am now forced to purchase a Chromecast because basically they've made sure that we can no longer mirror image what is on our phones unless we have Chromecast. I personally think that is sad because it was available with Roku but was taken away, probably to force me into purchasing the Chromecast. I think it's seriously sad that they're starting to act like Apple now by forcing you to buy their stuff when Roku is obviously better. It's sad. If I were a true gamer I would probably add a firestick. I'm not sure if that's still the top runner for games. Maybe check with a Google search.
I'm only using Chromecast to mirror image my phone. For everything else, it's Roku streaming stick per Cnet streaming device reviews.

My Vizio "Smart tv" (I have Netflix that works fine.) does not have an option in settings for Screen Mirroring. Will getting a Chromecast allow me to screen mirror my (more han capable) Note 4 onto the tv?????

@@tidechamp15 yes. It will allow you to mirror anything from your phone or pc via the chromecast.My tv asks me if I want to mirror directly to tv, or via chromecast (recognizable by a 4 digit code). Very handy.

Can i use a chromecast without mirror casting or such? B'coz i had a chromecast where we only connected to wifi and then we can cast movies or videos to the tv but it got ruined so we purchased another chromecast and its not the same as the previous and it requires a mirror casting which we dont like is there any other option asude from mirror casting?
I'm glad I got mine at aBlack Friday price, because as I suspected it screams / streams nothing. Gray screen. And a button - which isn't addressed in the instructions.

it goes into a Denon receiver and the TV recognizes it as a valid input. And little cast window on the computer monitor displays UA-cam as the current source. My router is Verizon Gateway 2.4 WiFi - but the signal isn't being sent to the chromecast. Thanks for your help, btw. I am homebound with RA, and thought this would be a great way since I have to lie horizontally in my bed many hours a day.

yes - the problem is that my Verizon router does not recognize it as a device or separate network -- I'll be talking to them today - this feels like the last roadblock. But thanks ...
