I don't have a dvd player downstairs so my plan is to use this and send it from the superdrive through the laptop and to the tv. Will this work without being choppy? Question....I have an older tv but the HDMI connection is on my vcr/dvd recorder. If I connect this drive into my dvd recorder can I possibly record youtube videos on blank dvd's directly using the dvd recorder connected to my tv? I got my daughter the chromeCast she loves it!!! Iphone kid and she loves casting everything from music to movies to TV 💓 happy! I had to let it update overnight... I had all kinds of trouble getting my TV to recognize the Chromecast. Finally as a last resort I unplugged it from the TV's USB port and plugged it in with the AC adapter and it instantly started working. Obviously, the Chromecast requires more power than some TVs can provide via USB.

I don't have youtube on my TV apps. So I can't setup from TV. I bought Roku but someone from India is the tech. I was unable to put my required code as shown on my TV by using my PC in order to setup. In an attempt to do this is when the tech said he would control my PC remotely then pay them $100 activation fee. I hung up and returned the Roku. I was ready to setup Chromecast then learned there was NO remote. If my phone rings while watching TV that would probably interrupt the TV show. HELP PLEASE

I have a question. I am able to cast a UA-cam video to my tv, however while the UA-cam video plays on the tv, the picture of the UA-cam on my laptop is paused, even though the sound keeps working. Is this normal? Shouldn't the video on the laptop keep up with the on on the tv? Thanks.
