Great coverage of this rifle, clear, concise, and informative. Love my Rossi 92!! Thanks for posting, Jimp
The last deer I killed was with a Rossi 92 , one shot dropped it from around 60 yards . Magtech 158 grain soft point cartridge , went clean through the deer .
Great review... I love my Rossi ..... I've started to handload my 38spec and 357mags now too.....it's a wonderful hobby. 👍🏼
I have this rifle in 45 colt and it is a great rifle.
I have had people question my love for this firearm, you have literally made my point clear and concise.
That being said, I purchased the Rossi M92 Carbine and before I put 200 rounds through it, it wouldn't feed ammo into the barrel. I sent it back and they said it was a barrel malfunction. They sent me a brand new one and it's my absolute favorite 🙂
i agree with you wholeheartedly! i love my r92, it is accurate fro me and i don't have to worry about getting it knocked around. now i am upping mine to a scout rifle.
I love my Rossi M92 in .454 Casull. I learned on the very first shot to not leave my fingers in the lever loop, it felt like I broke them!
The M92 357 or as I like to call it “your new favorite rifle” 👍
So much so that I have two
Got one as well in the 24" octagonal barrel. Such a sweet shooter.
Out of that rifle, a .357 hot load is almost equal to a 30-30. Its amazing.
(Energy at 100 yards.)
Perhaps a 20" barrel, not a 16.2"
Thank you so much for the links. My local gun store owner decided he's retiring and I just so happend by chance to walk in the day after he decided. Well guess what I decided to put on layaway till my next check...... a 92. My dad gave me his old ruger blackhawk 357 and I've been looking at a rifle to go with it. Then I decided to go pay on a rossi 12g double barrel coach gun at the pawn shop two doors down and he too is retiring buy at least his daughter is taking over. I'll have both paid of soon but I'm going to pay them off the same day so I can show them off together when I get home. I also learned rossi are made by Taurus which is fantastic because I love the Taurus PT92c and collection of 92 series pistols. That was such an odd day.
i found recoil light even w 180 grain Buffalo Bore, although mine is the 20-inch. This is even more fun than the mini-14. Cant beat the $ price on these ether.
LOL.................I have a mini-14 also and a stainless steel 45 colt rossi..........................Love the rossi
Elmer was more closely related to the 44 mag. Gun writer Phil Sharpe was the big pusher of 357 mag
Enjoyed your review. I have a .357 R2 with the 18" barrel. It's fun to shoot and extremely accurate. Hornady lists its 140gr LeveryRevoution round at MV= 1850fps ME= 1064ft-lbs from an 18" barrel.
I bought one of these yesterday and it's really cool. Haven't fired it bit it won't feed soft lead tipped ammo it catches and won't go into barrel. Went to local gunship this morning and they showed me what to use, brass jacketed hollow points and it works fine now.
I just bought a 20 inch Rossi R92 in 44 mag. The action was just barely acceptable and gritty. I ordered a spring upgrade kit for. The ejector spring was a serious PITA. No joke. I'm no gun smith, but I am pretty mechanically inclined. Information and "how to's" are pretty scarce. I eventually got it installed and working, and man what a difference. Amazing improvement.
Beware, there are different types of spring upgrade kits. They make them with ejector springs that are the same length as the original (I bought one where it was nearly twice as long). Get the ones where the spring is the same or nearly the same length as the stock ejector spring (you'll be glad you did). Also, I had to grind down a washer for the back of the hammer spring and put it on the guide rod because the new hammer spring would slip into the guide rod hole and cause significant resistance. When the hammer was first pulled back and when the last part of the hammer returning to the firing pin.
Have the Rossi 45 70 loop level action. Shoots fantastic! Dead on at 100 yards. Drop my largest whitetail with it. I did take it to my gunsmith to smooth the action up a bit since it is very rough. Now its silky smooth andove it.
I really want one of these.
Me too! Thinking about getting one soon. Did you get one?
Good review. I have one of them and like it. Thanks for the info. Way back when, Winchester informed the U.S. Army Ordnance Department that the correct pronouncement of Carbine rhymes with vine and and not with bean. I have it in writing somewhere, but I don't think we really care. Rather like the potato and tomato I suppose.
My R92 can hit a man sized target at 500 yards from a bench rest very well. I handload moderate .45 Colt loads topped with 255 grain lead bullets.
I believe I'd like to see that...care to upload proof?
I, for one, truly appreciate this rifle. It's light weight, accurate, powerful enough, slim, very reliable, and truly can stop what needs to be stopped. It doesn't take alot of knowledge to operate. It's very simple to care for and upgrade at home. The ones i have, or had, respond very well to action jobs/trigger jobs, and are very easy to perform at home with only a small amount of skill and tools. There are videos that help out on youtube and other more gun friendly sites, so that makes it easier for the less informed. Just take your time, and don't over do it. It's a great do all gun. Hiking, hunting, packing, truck (or car), even motorcycle trips. Good plinker, and training gun as well. Some people don't like it because it's not an original. Well good for them. Not everyone has bill gates' money to buy original winchesters, and not everyone is giving them away. I get what i can afford, and always make it better without making it say "STEAL ME!" It just makes sense to get a good gun, and make it better than an original. Besides, it'll get you much more familiar with your firearm, and that puts you in line to buy more practice ammo. I never bought a single firearm to be "as good as" the top of the line gun, but I've made many better. I also don't believe the lever gun could compete on an even playing field with an ar15, or m16. You just have to be better than the guy carrying it. Today's gun snobs usually have very little experience with actual tactical use of a firearm, and those that do, don't belittle the man who can only afford one gun. Thats another thing this gun is good for, tactical, and home defence. After all, this design was the original assault rifle.
Did the same upgrade on my Rossi’s, difference is I like what they call a Bullseye sight (circle in circle iron sight, $18.00) and I used a end of 25acp shell (Brass) for the safety (looks great). Love my Rossi’s 👍🏻🤠
Pretty good review, but a big thing I think people want out of rifle reviews is an accuracy assessment.
You've got targets on the table but the furthest target you shot at was less than 25 yards. That's still feasibly pistol range. Theres not a rifle on earth that would make groups worse than that without being defective. Was the point just that a rifle will shoot more accurately than a pistol?
It shoots a pistol cartridge, but its still a rifle and gets those higher velocities, so push those targets out. 50 yards at least though 75-100 would be better.
My R92 can hit a man sized target at 500 yards from a bench rest very well. I handload moderate .45 Colt loads topped with 255 grain lead bullets.
Rossi makes a pretty accurate rifle. I have 2 of them and they are both surprisingly accurate. Dont expect very long distance shots, but out to 200 meters, they are spot on.
Nice to see a ammo and target discussion thanks. On a lever action.
I toy around with the Rossi 92 16inch stainless in 44mag and once you clean up the action a little its a great utility gun.
The 357 round is a great round . I owned a Ruger Service -Six revolver and it was a cannon. I can imagine what you can get from a carbine in the same caliber. I also like the idea of one round fits both. Thank you for the review. Btw, I also live in Az . Great state for owning a weapon like these. I think your upgrades are awesome, and when I buy mine, I'd like to do the same thing to mine as well.
Enjoyed the basic break down of why the Rossi is an “okay” rifle to have. Subbed!
Man, been deciding between this and a Henry Big Boy for a big now. My dad has a Henry and it's easily my favorite gun to date, super solid, small, smooth as butter out of the box, absolutely lovely gun to shoot in every way. Still, the M92 has some mysterious appeal to me... plus the idea of saving $200 is pretty nice, too.
On a side note though, in the beginning you use 'right' in a weird way. Rights only exist if they are recognized. If the people around you don't recognize something as a right, it isn't one. People don't have inherent rights, and human rights are only applicable to countries that recognize them. So if your gov't doesn't recognize something as a right, then it isn't one.
You can buy 2 maybe 3 Rossi rifles for what one Henry costs. I think the Rossi is more rugged than the Henry. I recommend the Rossi. I dont think you will be disappointed.
Love the Rossi 44mag.
Me too it does tremendous damage
I love (for some strange reason) my .44 Ranch Hand. If they ever do away with that stupid SBR law, I'm putting a stock on it. I've already got all the Steve's Gunz guts in it, did the recommended polish work, put the Steve's peep instead of just plugging the hole in the bolt. Son bought me a holster for it, not exactly Josh Randall style but close. Out in the woods I'm totally comfortable with this rig.
I replaced my stock rear sight with a 2X Swift pistol scope. Very fast, and capable of hits on torso targets out to at least 200 yards or more.
its easy to transport in boxes. great selling point.
I love lever actions - especially in 357. Don't forget the 45LC - get both. More fun to shoot and easy to carry through the brush. Add S&W 586 for a sidearm and you're ready for anything. BUT, I like the Marlin better because of the side ejection. Cost a little more and plan on doing some work to smooth out the action, most of the time.
I have two of these, one in .44mag and a new one in .38/.357. The former is my "bear gun" and the latter is for small game via .38 fmjs. I disagree about the safety: when bringinhome a fully loaded gun and having to cycle all rounds thru the action to clear, i like having the safety on. the ret of the time its out of the way and no worry. I also put Williams 5D peep sights on both and love that--quick and crisp. Both guns have excellent soft triggers and no jamming if you use jacketed rounds. The .44 was last used on a hog in Texas but next trip I will take the .38 for a head shot so as not to lose so much meat. Hope they keep making these guns forever, they are very practical and fun to run. I just don't care for AR style rifles or calibers, though most do, my personal preference is the levergun.
great video my friend i am a subscriber now! Been wanting a level action for some time and i will look into this one?I already have loads of 38spcl laying around for my home defense handgun.would also love to add another caliber to my collection in the .357mag! :)
I have a .454/.45 LCin the stainless finish, it is a beautiful rifle; I have some upgrades that I would like to, one of them being my sights, but before I do, I would like to know what you think of the rear mounted flip up peep sight for this rifle? Thanks for the link to Steve's. Would you happen to know where I can find a large loop lever and stainless?
Bought mine yesterday.
Love to see the Scottsdale Gun Club targets, I shoot there once a week!
You could also run 38 special + p which is somewhere between a 38 special and a 357 Magnum so you actually have three round choices 38 special 38 special + p + 357 so it gives you a lot of versatility in just that caliber range for those people who are bug out preppers and all that it gives you three different rounds you can run through it and like you said it has a lot more uses and just blinking and can be used for hunting self-defense and even take much larger and dangerous game like bears if you have good shot placement
does the safety allow you to dry fire like i do with my Marlin 1895 safety? if so. then it has a purpose.
I plan on getting one in 454 casull for deer and black bear. I like the idea of the button in place of the safety switch. I saw in the link where he also offers an adjustable peep sight to replace the safety. Have you ever seen those and how do you think they hold up being attached to the bolt instead of like a skinner sight on the receiver?
Your only gonna buy one used in 454 they stopped making them. Magazine tubes came loose shearing off mounting screw and the stocks started cracking ar the tang. Used going for 1000
I was wondering if it is possible for an older model 92 Rossi that does not have the safety to be modified to have the safety
added to it?
Great review. Full of info.
Great little rifle for the reasons you stated. My preference would be to put a aperture on the receiver gold bead front. With adjustable aperture sight like xs the ghost ring or marbles tang would be great for self-defense and the smaller apertures would be great for target shooting out to range. What range do you feel is ethical for deer? I would prefer 44 Magnum cost more but better range for deer. Thanks for sharing good review 👍
Excellent vid ( info, delivery, lighting, focus and tips and hints) .. try and keep the intro sound the same level as the rest of the video because when watching these videos late at night we don't wish to disturb others that are sleeping with surprise high volume intros ...
Nice. How about the 44mag and 44special. Do you like it in that caliber?
Good question. In this rifle, 357 magnum is all I can comfortably shoot out of it since it is lightweight. If you get a heavier lever rifle they are better able to comfortably handle the 44 magnum loads. On a final note, 44 specials are still a relatively high cost down-load to shoot out of a 44 magnum versus the cheaper 38 special out of the 357 magnum. For most people, expensive loads mean less shooting so it also depends how often you want to shoot it. There are no inexpensive ways to shoot a 44 magnum/44 special.
I understand why most people are not really interested in shooting the 44. Cost is a huge factor. It's a good load. This gun looks like it might handle it. I can't imajine shooting this gun that much anyway. I'll bet it's fun though.
Hey mate great review, very informative, I own three of these, two are .44 one is 16 inch barrel the other is 20 inch barrel , I also own one in 357 its stainless in 20 inch , there all great guns . I am doing cowboy loads in my .44 mag rifles, there bloody good hey mate, good on ya for doing a great review man.
@@AZTrigger I make hand loads for the rossi in 44. It is more affordable than you think. I could not afford a steady diet of factory ammo, but its really cheap with lead cast bullets.
Excellent review. I've been on the cusp of getting one of these Rossis for a while now. I've been waiting for a 20" Stainless Steel in 357 but they seem to be hard to come by. The blued carbines in 16" and 20" appear to be readily available.
Got the 20'' SS in 357 and I love it. 38's are so easy to reload and a cheap plinker on the range. 357's are powerful and can do nearly every job. Not as fast as an AR15, but much more fun to shoot.
joe popes Buds had 23 of the 20” SS 357’s and sold out in a day. I won’t make that mistake again next chance I get lol.
Justin Case I wound up snapping up one of the 16” SS’s for $580 from Impactguns.com. So you’re right about the price increase. Supply and demand I guess. By the way, it’s a very nice rifle and well worth the price. The best price I’ve seen so far is from Grabagun.com. But you have to sign up for notifications and jump on it immediately. Good luck.
@@gabbyhayes1568 Thanks! I will check out impact guns.
Glad you got one. That's exactly what I was looking for. I passed on a couple that were $540 but now I wish I would have bought.
@@justincase00 I just got that rifle. I haven't shot it yet but it looks/feels nice
Thx for the info mate.
Hello great review I have the Rossi M92 44 Mag
I was wondering if you could please send me a link or tell where you purchased your spring plunger and sights upgrade
Thank you 😊
I think you overstate the recoil somewhat, these are a light recoiling rifle in .357 even with hotter loads.
I was thinking the same thing. Although my Henry is heavier, recoil with hot Underwood ammo is a real pussycat to shoot. I would say half of a 30-30 or less.
I have the Rossi with a 20" Octagonal barrel and shoot the .357 185g Beartooth bullet . The combination is accurate and lethal on deer out to 100 yards. I bought a Marlin 1894 in .44 magnum around the same time and the Rossi compares favorably to this rifle. I have done some of the trigger and ejector upgrades for both.
Is there a place for a red dot? Looks like a good contender for a scout rifle. I have an AR but just because everyone else does.mmi have no passion with it.
"Keyholing" usually references the bullet going through the target sideways due to no longer being stabilized.
Agree with your comment. He should rather say "clover-leafing" when all the holes are touching each other.
Aka: badass
agreed, and it males a great medium game rifle in heavy brush
excellent video, will do the upgrades that you suggest.
Is it worth the money
Why are you measuring in 'feet'? If you're measuring for accuracy you should be measuring in yards or meters like everyone else and what is standard
Love the vid but have to disagree on a certain point, I can replicate those groups with my handgun all day long but would not want to when it matters, any groups that close and you are not shooting fast enough on your double taps
I find that lever actions and slide actions have problems with .357 and .38....because of the case length....while 44 magnum is a consistant as is 45 LC.
Adrian Otero Mine is .38spl/.357, no problems at all with either, at least in mine.
.357 is NOT a big game round, it’s the bear minimum for bear. 44 mag n about is suitable
It will shoot .357, .38 Special, and .38Long and short colt if the cartridges are long enough to cycle through the action. The 16" barrel can accelerate the .357 to the point where the bullet becomes somewhat frangible and disintegrates upon hitting the target, therefore making it perhaps not a good choice with just any ammunition for self defense. In .44 mag it should also be able to utilize .44 Special and .44 Russian. In .45 Colt it should be able to handle .45 Schofield as well. If you are going to diseminate information why not give it all to the masses?
I wish they still made these.
They do. Just bought one yesterday.
I got my rifle as a birthday present 40 years ago. I does Not have a safety lever. does that make it rare or just insafe?
Back in the day, they did not feel the need to add an extra safety. Your hammer is your safety.
It makes you lucky. It's definitely not unsafe but do to unscrupulous lawyers and anti gunners looking for lawsuits they kinda had to add safety's which you can disable and I will but that leaves it on me not them. Just put on half-cock and don't give it a second thought. There's not anyone on here that wouldn't trade ya
had one of these the loading gate spring broke could not get a replacement parts seem hard to come by
You ever able to get it fixed? I have a Rossi 65(it was originally called the 65 before the '92) in .44-40 and my loading gate door is so tight it will throw the rounds back at me sometimes.
It was far cheaper and more durable than the 1873 which wasvehu it was used in early western.
Took me a long time to realize this wasn’t hanging on a wall and it’s all just laid out on a table. Camera angle fooled me.
OK...my human frailties rushed to judgment. But not all was askew. I want to know how this platform performs in .44mag...POA/POI +/- at ~ 100m with 240-250gr projectiles, given known rates of twist.
The safety ? Yep leave it alone. Why ? Because if you have to use it in self defense... The F'in Lawyers will tear your ass apart.. Ask me how I know that....
Easy enough to use and lets you safely cycle ammo through the action to unload,or spin cock if you are so inclined
Excellent point
Can you mount a picatinny rail?
Yes, unscrew the rear sight, and replace it with a rail. Easy-peasy
Yes, Sun Optics makes one, #SM4411.
Foot pounds is a measurement of energy, not velocity, which is 'feet per second'. There is no "foot pounds per second" used in ammo ballistics. And, your bullet must have hit something before the target, for it to have key holed. Doesn't 'key hole' refer to bullet tumbling in flight? By the way, will the Rossi handle Cor Bon 300 grain .45 Colt? Thanks.
The Rossi action will handle 'hot' loads that are for "Ruger and TC only" in the reloading manuals so it will easily handle the Cor Bon loads.
M92s are in the category of strong action( were talking 19th century designs historically of course) rifles with their twin locking lug and mortise design inherited from the M1886.
John Wayne actually preferred the 32-20
A friend set my account up for me ( Im 40 + years old and not tech-inclined) she said “ idk what to call you? I think of John Wayne when someone says anything about you” I told her the ( handle ) was fine and i consider it a complement. I also still joke with her about it sometimes “ I’m not ruff n tuff and don’t take crap of noones hind end “ she says “ That’s NOT why I think about you like John Wane!” . Haha . Seriously though I have read many stories about the 32/20 being very accurate! Doing trick shots. Shooting playing cards in half . Punching holes through the small spade/ clover/ heart / diamond. On all 4 corners of a playing card. They also brag about how quiet the report was and it didn’t bother the females like a larger rifle . Saying they took interest in the little rifles and even wanted to fire it themselves. I suppose things was different around the turn of the last century. I find these stories at my local library. There is a lot of digital reading available from them . They also have a lot of books as well. Sometimes just looking at the old advertisements from the 40’s - 80’s In magazine ads keeps me entertained for hours. The prices are almost unbelievable compared to today .
What exactly is 1700 foot pounds per second? There is hardly any recoil in these rifles with any of the "Hot" 357 mag loads. You must be severely recoil sensitive. My wife, kids, and grandkids shoot mine with all loads no problem.
I think he misspoke and meant to say 1700 feet per second...
These are powderpuffs. Nowhere near even .243 recoil. I'd love to see this guy shoot my 7.82 Warbird or 7mm STW. Or even a 2-3/4" 12ga with bird shot...
Actually, I agree with AZ Trigger regarding full power .357 loads out of this carbine. It doesn't have so much to do with the recoil as it has to do with the shape of the butt plate. If this rifle had a flat butt plate there would be very little felt recoil, but with these guns the recoil is focused on the sharp little points at the top and bottom of the butt. Before you start with me being "recoil sensitive" you should know that I regularly compete in WWII rifle matches using 7.5 Swiss, 30-06, and 8mm Mauser and with military steel butt plates. Between the matches and the practice I easily shoot at least 150 rounds of .30 caliber monthly.
BeagleBro knows what he speaks. Recoil from the R92 with full power .357 loads is fine when standing because the upper body and shoulder are free to move. Lean into the rifle though and recoil can be harsh due to the steel butt plate. Bench shooting while wearing a T-shirt not recommended after 12 rounds. I put on a shoulder pad with no F***'s given about what others think.
Like Beagle I also own numerous old high powered military rifles.
Maybe he meant 1700 ft-lbs (foot pounds) of muzzle energy? Maybe he meant 1700 fps (feet per second) which is a velocity? He apparently doesn't know the physics & terminology used in ballistics.
To be honest the biggest market for these rifles is the popularity of Cowboy Action shooting. What we have discovered is the Rossi 92 is not the best choice at the same price pint of the Rossi the Marlin 1894 is a much better choice it has smother action and more reliable.
I have a rossi in 44mag it was a really rough action had to do some finish work to get it smoothed out. Its my knockabout. I purchased a Miroku 92 in 44 mag twice the money and one hell of a rifle buttery smooth and accurate beautiful blueing and wood. Had tang saftey rebounding hammer deleted personal peev
If u think that kicks try my 4590 with hot loads
45-90, haha. We need to shoot together. I will bring my 45-120 Quigley rifle. Not a repeater but is a lever gun. Lol

Why is it so important to remove the safety?
A lot of 2A folks see safeties as an inherently bad thing, as pandering to people who want to restrict guns. Same reason people used to remove seatbelts from their cars.
I have seen someone mention that the safety is too loose and can be accidentally toggled on/off, but most of the people who mentioned it on this gun seemed to think it could be completely ignored. This guy never gave a reason for removing it so who knows.
The safety is unneeded because you fire the rifle, and then do not work the lever until you need to fire again. Fired empty cartridge cases are very safe.
Quint from JAWS said its a fine powerful simple rifle
It would be an improvement over that broke-ass Garand he was shooting at the shark with that he had to charge the bolt every time he'd fire! Wonder what was wrong with that prop? I'd rather cycle a lever-action.
Why didn't you give a price?
Cos everyone knows how cheap these great rifles are.
@@shootmcrunfast That's not the point. So their cheap. It would be nice to know before we spent time looking it up, after all we spent the time to watch the video.
It takes as long to post a comment as it does to search for a price.
Any price given in a video will change over time and depend on which model, geography, taxes, currency exchange rates, local market size and how old the video is.
The price is one detail that will never be accurate in a video.

Damn son, slow down! Stop talking so fast! Ya sound like a TV weatherman that only has 5 minutes of airtime. But I have four Rossi's, and love them. Great little rifles after some tuning work.
I actually really appreciate his speech rate, for some reason many youtubers talk unnaturally slow
You can handload 357 loads in a 38 case, just be damn sure you don't use them in a 38 pistol.
I advise against .357 loads in .38 Spl. Cases very strongly. That being said, I load the Keith load frequently and seem to get better accuracy. Big frame 357s and my Rossi SRC only. You're playing with fire. Remember that!!!!!!!
Oh, and my 38/44 Heavy Duty also.
Why would a smart person ever load .357 in a .38 case???........answer........HE WOULDN'T!!

two legged predators. Oh yeah, those roos have been known to stalk their prey for weeks, only to strike when you least expect it and challenge you to an unfairly biased boxing match. Fear the roo, for he is king of the bush.
Only John's was cool in a western
The only things that have prevented me from buying one of these otherwise nice rifles are: 1) the dropping of the .44-40 chambering which means I would have to buy one in .44 Rem Mag/.44 S&W Special, 2) the stupid safety which I would have to make go away, and 3) the rough to poor workmanship on the metal and not exactly good wood to metal fit that would force me to disassemble it and "do it myself"....Oh and 4) that ridiculous screw/cap at the end of the magazine tube....I HATE that thing as it detracts from what is an otherwise clean design. Hello, Taurus-Rossi? Catch a clue and replace the plastic follower with a real metal one and make the screw/cap go away.
I have two of these Rossi guns, both in 357. You don't need to use the safety, though it does work just fine, though awkward. Second, the metal workmanship is fine for this type of gun. The wood is Brazilian Walnut and is not bad, though not up to Winchester wood stock standards. The gun is functional, accurate out to 100 yards, and best , relatively inexpensive. If you want to spend $1000 plus for a lever gun, buy a Winchester. If you want a reliable carbine brush gun for half the price, buy a Rossi

But since both dictionaries I checked pronounced it with a long e, it's likely the more common version.
Either way, nothing to be in disbelief about.
Rossi M92 is a piece of junk. Terrible action. Can barley cycle without moving it from your shoulder. Save up two more weeks and get a real gun.
tking1170 No such complaint with mine
@@Chief2Moon I'm honestly happy for you. You found a unicorn in that one though.
Got mine a week ago new and the first couple times I levered it it was rough, but it’s already breaking in well. It cycled 38s without issue, haven’t shot 357 thru it yet
Bought my .357 Rossi in 2003 - a 16" octagon, case-hardened blue steel beauty with striking weather-treated Brazilian Walnut. This gun came with a custom-fitted case plus a 15" hardened steel hunting knife as a mail-in promotion. Frankly, the reason I bought this gun is that at the time, it was on deal at a gun show and I couldn't afford anything even close to a Winchester, Marlin or Henry (etc.)/. I live on a farm in Arizona where I needed this gun to protect my stock and animals from coyotes and other varmints like Bob Cats and an occasional rattler. It took me a couple of weeks to break it in but now - 17 years later - it has never failed me in any way and my guess is that I have put more than 1000 rounds a year through it. No breakage, no FTFs and never needed to have it professionally serviced - (although I DO take VERY good care of it and could assemble or break it down blindfolded). These days, I could actually afford one the the major Brand name guns but because this gun has served me so well, I just don't feel the need. Maybe I lucked out ??
Ditto Dallas. Got mine in 95. Took some breaking in. Been fine for abt 24 yrs. Half cock hammer safety only. No, I won't sell.
