My favorite part of the video is when you said “to make damn sure my biscuits rise”. Hahaha

I use to watch our Mother make homemade biscuits every single morning but…only on Saturday and or Sunday-for our morning breakfast. They were always delicious, her mother ( our grandmother) on her side made delicious homemade biscuits as well. And of course we always had Sausage gravy too.

those look great! Every time I make drop biscuits they seem to crumble apart so bad you can't even butter them. I shall try your method using bacon grease. Thanks!

This is the way I make mine. The only way I make them anymore. Awesome recipe. I never grew up making food from scratch but I’ve started learning and love this recipe.

I thought I was the only one that cleaned my bowl with the flour. I use the left over flour for my gravy

Looks like you make them the old fashioned pioneer way. I will be making these. I also want to create a bacon grease frosting for cake.

Bacon grease contains too much salt for frosting. I think you mean lard frosting.

@@feistysoutherncooking3513 greetings from Texas. I have been using for some time bacon grease and coconut oil more as I cook. I use butter and olive oil mostly. My relatives on both sides used lard as a staple. They lived into their late 90s. Naturally, I am alert about healthy eating. I read so many things about food and realize the major companies are battling for our dollars. So, what is 'good' one day is 'bad' the next! We love bacon in nearly everything. I know moderation. One family dessert is Butterpecan ice-cream with real bacon bits and real maple syrup topped with coconutmilk whipped cream!! Yeah. it's always a hit. I really enjoyed your video. Heavens Blessings to you.

You store bacon grease in the refrigerator? My refrigerator definitely has limited space so I just keep my grease on tabletop.

How much bacon grease is that?

I'm sorry that no one ever got back to you. It looks about to be 1/4 cup of bacon grease. I have similar containers and that is what they hold. These days, I just stick to a simple 2 ingredient biscuit. I hope this was helpful and stay well.

      It’s a 1/4 cup. Sorry about that.

I thought you said your biscuits were "cruchy" on the outside. Must be my wife's recipe.
