This video shows that simple Range Rover repairs aren't all that simple. He planned to fix the suspension, now he has to pull off side steps, the grille, the headlight, he practically took the whole car apart to fix the suspension!
Seen all three vids now and this is the most indepth vid I've seen so far,I'm in the same boat but someone has butchered mine. So I'm going to reinstate mine back to standard, ordered all the fittings and see what happens finger's crossed lol
I too am wondering where you are with this. I have the 2.7v6 diesel and have a suspension fault come on regularly after driving for around 20 mins. On the center console screen I set it to 4x4 information and it shows both front have dropped below the green line. I replaced both height sensors, that just made the car spaz out totally, screen showed both front wheels were about 3ft below the road! Tomorrow I'm going to be changing all the air springs and shocks as the apparently perish (my car has 157k on the clock) fingers crossed this sorts it. BTW I too had the brake pedal switch fail after replacing a brake light bulb, had exactly the same response as yours with the irrelevant fault codes. Apparently the wiring loom on the early models is basically a butchered one off the discovery, hence the plugs that go nowhere. It's a shame they are so problematic as I totally adore mine
Like yourself I totally adore mine which replaced my old workhorse discovery 3 due to introduction of Legislation in London(ULEZ). Such idiosynchratic cars but I love it.
Great Videos - Just discovered your videos in time for starting the compressor replacement myself (independent RR specialist replaced one last year but don't wanna pay their £150 per hour(plus tax) hourly rate and like most of my cars I figure once I have done it once it will be good experience should I need to do it again.
Good videos and helpful too. Hello, at 15.56 you show how to clear the coeds. Are both linked together directly? My RRS had the same issue with a punctured air spring and a damaged compressor. Both changed, after a few days being fine, it's gone up to extended mode and won't come back down. Suspension fault comex back on whenever I try to lower it.
need to check out what the height sensors are saying, and if the digital values are changing when the arm is manually moved. also now the compressor is changed is the tank pressure being measured correctly and is it stable? try disconnecting battery overnight, does front or rear sag or go up? pressure in tank change? (removing battery stops the ECU making adjustments, so you are judging purely on mechanical/pneumatic changes)
Lee get an MX5 please mate 😂 I enjoyed watching your MG project because I just acquired one. And now I've replaced it for an MX5. Always enjoy your content 👍
could it be the switches on the wheel struts. k they are for the levelling ride height. you can buy after market ones to lower or make your ride height higher. so could they possibly be defunct. just a thought.
The diagnosis issues are similar to what people have with Volvo's. If you have Vida on a laptop and a dice communication tool for the obd2 it's easy , you can make car systems work from the laptop . If you use a scanner ,even a good one , you are sent down the rabbit hole time and again. So I would think it's specialist or hookey soft ware to scan the tractor
hello I follow you from Italy, I too have a problem my system works but as soon as I start the car after 30 seconds yellow light on the display with fault code c1a20! then for 2 months I had no more failures now it's back! what do you think it is? old compressor?
It's 2024 so if anyone is watching this video you do not have to take off the front bumper you only have to take out the right headlight remove the cover that's in the right front wheel well for the supercharger cooler there are two screws that holds in the housing for the cooler and then you can access the part that you're trying to remove

Always enjoy your videos Lee - with your methodical approach I'm sure you'll get to the bottom of the issues :-)

When’s the next video coming out? Been waiting
Wondering where you are with this ?????????

Excellent videos did you ever get to the bottom of this

I'll add it to the list! Lol 😆

Good luck mate
Check the air exhaust valve on the air compressor

yeah, you just need to re calibrate the ride height, this always needs to be done when you see un-even heights.
As you'd pulled them valve blocks out shouldn't you of spent a few quid and refurbed them?
Resolution is … the new compressor needs to be coded to the car … needs ride height calibration too … need original JLR software to work on this
Suspension needs calibration?
