Great tutorial, thank you! Can you give any advice on your system setup? This project crashed my iMac three times, should I be working on a different machine? Thanks.
Something I should have mentioned back in that tutorial was to click the 'render instances' box in the cloner, that will speed things up loads. I'd recommend an i7 processor and above and as much ram as you can get if you have issues

This is an amazing chanel...learning a lot everyday. For some reason, when I clone an object...I cannot seem to rotate it...The axis do rotate but not the actual copied objects...I used the shortcut (L) to make sure axis are disabled/enabled...still no use...please help!

Thanks for making this video, I learned so much! I am trying this technique to add details to an obj file of a neuron from our lab but c4d keeps totally freezing on me when I try to clone the spheres on vertices. Do you think it is because the meshes have too many polys?

I've followed your steps to the nose but can't select polygons...Searched the internet, no answer. Started new project, no dice...Any ideas on this? I'm using R19, and polygon selection enabled.
Figured it out, you need to make sure the object is not set to parametric, so you select the cylinder in this instance and press "c"

how can you apply a gradient to this using a second shader instead of using water in the shading could I change it to colour and apply the gradient that way?

Why can’t I select , to do the extraction at the bottom with the “only select visible elements nothing happens it’s just a circle
Hard to say without seeing it, what version of C4D are you using? Maybe post a screenshot on our Facebook group and I can have a look for you?

in the noise shader you have the "loop period", which doesn't exist in the water shader. am i missing something?

yeah unfortunately not all noise shaders are directly loopable (the water shader is one of them). In the noise shader though (which is loopable) you can change the noise to 'wavy turbulence' which is similar to the water shader. That will be loopable. Let me know if that works

for some reason when i go to click the segments with the live select the blue outline doesnt show and when i hover over it doesnt highlight. i cant get past this step :(
Did you put it into polygon face mode?
not sure what you mean but i have done all the steps correctly up until this point (new to cinema 4d)
mine doesnt animate when i press play i have no idea why
Try the project file to see where you went wrong
@@CGShortcutsthanks for the reply. theres option in the shader - Time Dependent tickbox has to be on for the noise to animate. Ugh...
