You just naming your dog Arthur brings real tears to my eyes!
I'm right with you on Darksiders, a really underrated game. Such a cool lore and storyline! 🤘
That first game was my favorite of the series
with the first game, i dont think that i ever made it past the first big boss. bought the game on ps3 at CEX for a couple of quid, started playing it when i got home, a few hours later, and im just confused on where to go and what to do. lore was interesting though.
@@williamgulfo5294 Mine too. I tried the 2nd too but the first remained my favorite.
@@wcapewell3089 I'd encourage you to give it another try, now you've more gaming XP. I recall getting stuck a couple of times too. 😅
The Punisher on the original Xbox. Thomas Jane does the voice acting. Very true to the character and the fun of feeding bad guys to piranhas and a python.
How do you not have more subs.....
Your videos are always so well done and you don't repeat yourself like most other channels. Keep it up!
Wow, thank you so much!
@@snarkyjay come back to this comment 1 year from now when you have 300k+ subs. Lol
Im obsessed with snarkyjay
People forget that 50k+ is already a big accomplishment. UA-camrs have to work years on getting that much subscribers and holding them.
True. I've been trying for a few years and barely have 100.
Hella dope you mentioned Darksiders. Super underrated series.
So good!
Darksiders 2 is my favorite of the series, as it's an rpg
Good to see you sharing something fun with that SnarkJay sparkle and smile 😊
You put together a good list, here are my Top Ten Favorite Games: 10) Tetris - 9) Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee - 8) Injustice: Gods Among Us - 7) Donkey Kong Country - 6) Mortal Kombat X - 5) Super Mario Bro’s 3 - 4) Elder Scrolls Online - 3) Uncharted (I am counting all four as one - it’s my list - so I can do that) - 2) Marvel Ultimate Alliance - 1) Skyrim
7:33 damn, I didn't even think about that, yeah that's defo at the top!
Another amazing video and great picks Snarkyjay ❤❤😁😁.
Very nice list. I remember the games and played maybe half of them. Thanks for sharing. That is a lot of hours for red dead play throughs. Also, Darksiders got a few follow up games that followed up the other horseman. But puzzle parts in that game made it hard to finish.
Man I'm old ....I remember when you had to leave the house and go to an Arcade. Times they are a different
Interesting picks of games. Glad you had fun with them.
Hey nice to see you liked a game I worked on (Brotherhood). Really enjoy your show… keep up the good work, keep on the snark!!
This is a pretty good list!! I have some of these on my favorites list as well although mine would include the Ratchet and Clank series as an entry instead of an honorable mention and I would include the Jak and Daxter series as well. Solid list and if you can ever make it work and I know you said you have been trying to but I am definitely down if you ever start streaming games it would be super fun to watch!
I wanna stream some fun stuff- like random simulator games and stuff like that. I’m awful at video games so I’m sure you guys would love it. 😂
Some of my favorite video games (in no particular order) include:
-Alan Wake
-Horizon Zero Dawn
-Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
-Sonic Mania
-Spider-Man PS4
-Metroid Prime
-Batman Arkham City
-Titanfall 2
Cool list!! My favorite game is the Hitman series, specifically part 2, the score is to die for. But also I loved the PS1 Resident Evil games. Although heavily pixelated those games spooked me and my friends at midnight playing.
Sweet top 10 list! The animation art of The Wolf of Us reminds me of the rotoscope animation art in A Scanner Darkly film.
I recently started back gaming, and never played RDR2. I can honestly say this game has a better story line than most movies have today. Great game.
Great selection!!😊
This is actually a solid list. Kudos on you. You got better taste than most gaming youtubers 😊
Solid list! Great to see someone giving some love for Darksiders! Darksiders 2 and 3 are also really fun. I didn't play Darksiders Genesis but it looks like a fun game.
Cool video game picks, Snarky! 😁❤️🎮
Thank you 😁
@@snarkyjay what's your favorite cartoon as a child
Love your channel!
Cool video Jay! I haven't played games in well over a decade so here's an old list in random order...
Oblivion
Skyrim
Borderlands
Mario 64
GTA (All of them)
Resident Evil (Most of them)
Batman Arkham Series
Mortal Kombat
Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Kirby All Stars (SNES)
Great choices there Adam!
Half Life Alex (VR) is sublime.
@@johnvaldosta5913 I've heard that from a few friends. The last Half Life game I played was the original on PC.
Thanks for sharing
Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of my all-time favorite games. What a story.
Not a bad list, Snarky Jay.
What I recommend.
The Witcher Saga.
God of War Saga.
The Uncharted Saga.
Metal Gear Solid Saga.
Grand Theft Auto Vice City
Final Fantasy 7 Remake
Street Fighter Third Strike
Awesome to know that you got good tastes in video games, ms.snarkyjay. I'm familiar with only a couple of the games on your list.
Thanks!
@@snarkyjay 🙏🏿😊
Thank you for sharing great video and list :) I would encourage you to try the last 3 Tomb Raider games so much fun :) great story mixed with the game play and puzzles :) Red Dead is fantastic…my other favorites are original Halo and Grand Theft Auto Vice City…great outfit and hair looks great as do you..as always :)
thanks for sharing your list
You can really see the era of when you played games the most. For me, as a PC gamer, some of my favs of all time that I still play:
Wizardry 8 2001 (GOG): party & turn-based RPG in an open world with rich lore and huge campaign - very dated graphic, but gameplay still holds up.
Skyrim 2011: everyone knows it.
Fallout 4 2015: literally thousands of hours /played with lots of mods installed
Starfield 2023: not popular, but I like the sci-fi open world, main & side stories, and replayability
No Man's Sky 2016: space exploration/base building, keeps getting better with free updates
Splinter Cell Blacklist 2013: stealth shooter; well-designed missions, stealth and combat is good; replayable
Cyberpunk 2077 2020: Open world sci-fi shooter/RPG in a future city; another game that got way better with updates - good combat & unique aesthetic.
awesome vid here darksiders was a great game you have some other great choices here as well keep up the great work
Great videogame picks 👏
Thank you!
Great list! I have played almost all of those games. If you have the time, I would tell you to play the new God of War Games. I'm also playing the Bioshock Collection, so far, so great
I go back to Atari as a very little kid. My first console was the Nintendo. This is my list:
Bionic Commando [Nintendo] - If you played Nintendo back then you would know that games were very linear and repetitive and the physics very similar. This game broke that trend while introducing a different king of mobility. This to go along with awesome gameplay and music. I LOVED this game as a kid.
Super Mario III [Nintendo] - This game was the first time when a franchise grew exponentially in scale. The fact you could fly and that there was a concept of a map and that the stages were 5 times as many as the previous game was awesome. It broke previous scales of a game and at the time was a really big deal. I also recommend a little known gem of a film from back then which features this game which stars Fred Savage of the Wonder Years called the Wizard.
Super Metroid [Super Nintendo] - This game was the first that I played with a concept of an open world and for me was extremely revolutionary. The escape you have to do at the end as with any metroid was awesome.
Metroid Prime [Nintendo 64] - Just like its predecessor a revolutionary ground breaking game. The physics of rolling into a ball was outstanding. And the bosses were difficult to beat. I remember being stoked when I beat the Omega Pirate and he was the weakest of the major bosses in the game. The music and ambieance were out of this world too.
Resident Evil 4 [Nintendo 64] - I don't know what to say about this game except that it is one of my top 5 of all time. Amazing gameplay. Incredible everything.
Half Life 2 [Xbox] - Ah... the greatest game of all time in my opinion. You play like 5 different genres of science fiction in this game. The stage "We don't go to Ravenholm" is one of the greatest experiences I ever had in a game the first time I played it. It has a variaty of different stages with aweosme gameplay and detail. The physics of the gravity gun are ground breaking. Absolutely blew everything out of the water in its time and still holds up.
Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare [Xbox 360] - While the campaign is great, the multiplayer revolutionaized gaming. While its predecesors had done it before, this was the first of its kind that was absolutely mind blowing. Its sequels each improved on the original. I must have played Call of Duty multiplayer for years of my life.
Batman Arkham City - [Xbox 360/PS3] Simply but the best Batman game ever made. It captured every single element of Batman in an open world piece of gotham city which is something generations before only dreamed of. Featuring an awesome rogues gallery and side missions. I play this game once a year to this day. It is both Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill in their greatest performances.
Assassins Creed II [Xbox 360/PS3] Wow just absolutely wow. I can't even begin to describe the awesomeness of this game. I would need to write something equally as long as this entire essay.
Red Dead Redeption [Xbox 360/PS3] The game that made being a Cowboy cool again and synthesized all previous depictions of the western genre into one single mind bending experience. Magnificent game.
I will stop there.
If you liked Assassins Creed 3, you will love Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag...being a pirate and naval battles was just so much fun.
I played the entire AC series up to Origins.
Assassins Creed: Brotherhood. Couldn't agree more! I can't remember which one was better, Assassins Creed II or Brotherhood?🤔 I loved them both. But I vaguely remember loving Brotherhood more. Ezio feels like a real character in my memory. I miss him.
VERY surprised to see Assassins Creed III. That was a drudge to get through. 🫤
Red Dead Redemption depressed me. I've ALWAYS wanted to play that game! 😢 But the geniuses at Rockstar Games decided to abandon their core fan base, and not release the game on PC.
No Half-Life or Half-Life II?
Thanks for sharing! Wow, a beautiful girl that loves comics, video games, Star Wars and Optimus Prime? How are you not married?! 😂
Great to see a positive video Snarky
I'm an 80s baby so my list has NES and Atari games on it😂 but it is interesting hearing a different list from a different generation. We agree on one thing for sure, Red Dead Redemption 2. There's nothing like living off the land, relaxing and watching the sunrise 🌅 in Camp. Great list Jay
Nice reference to the Ballad of Buster Scruggs there, bravo 👏🏼
I love AC III so much! The music, the context, American Natives, battleships... 🔥
I loved RDR 1 but never played RDR 2 cause it's too long and the cowboy sim makes me hesitate.
Nice video though.
RDR2 is a killer dude. Totally recommend.
Nice list! The way Arkham Asylum's story plays out is so well paced. Much better than later games where the stories feel aimless at times.
F-Zero GX, Kingdom Hearts, Shadow of the Colossus, Halo, Mario 64, and Pokémon Stadium are some of my favorites.
Interesting list, lots of games I don't care for but glad you got enjoyment out of them. I'd recommend looking up older games that where on the ps2 you might like some the RPGS there, I would also recommend skies of arcadia personally I think it's one of the best games ever game.
I have assembled the Abyssal Armor in Darksiders many times. I was a Joe Mad fan in the late '90s, so when I heard they were making a video game using his character designs...I had to play it. I have it on the Switch now.
Very unique, good, and interesting list!
My top 10 has a few cliches but:
1) Final Fantasy VII on PS1
2) Majora’s Mask
3) Persona 4 Golden & 5 Royal
4) Paper Mario TTYD & Mario Odyssey
5) Final Fantasy XIV
6) Fire Emblem Awakening
7) Xenoblade Chronicles
8) Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
9) Resident Evil 2 Remake
10) Halo 3
SOOOOOO happy to see you mention Sly 3, that game is so underrated. The Sly games are my personal favourite games of all time.
Great Video Sexy Jay!! My favorite video games are the Batman games where Batman is voiced by the late Kevin Conroy, Ghostbusters Video Game where all of the movie actors reprised their roles and it felt like Ghostbusters 3 and Back to the Future Game because it is basically Back to the Future 4 along with Christopher Lloyd reprising his role as Doc Brown!!
Jay since you got emotional with the story in Red Dead Redemption 2 , I would recommend to you if you are interested in the Mass Effect trilogy...Hands down to me one of the best series of games I have ever played and still replay to this day...Your choices affect the story plus the choices you made in the first game you can import to the second and it affects the story in the second and the same for the third...I got so hooked by the third game that i was actively upset if something happened to the characters i started with all the way back in the first game and something would happen to them in the third...You will actually care about the characters in the game...Just a thought...
I’ve heard a lot of great stuff about Mass Effect!
@@snarkyjayIf you decide to play Mass Effect 1,2,3...Make a video I would be interested in hearing your opinion..
Much respect to your list, Snarky
You deserve way more views your content is awesome. I completely agree with your list those are legendary games and any top 10 game list that has RDR2 at number 1 is correct lol, seriously though that game is miles above any other. AC Unity and Blackflag could have been on your list too since they were the peak of AC but 3 and Brotherhood are awesome as well, I agree.
Some really great picks here, I'd rank them all fairly highly as well.
I love the Ezio trilogy, my personal favourite is AC2 because whilst I love all three games, AC2 for me has the best story and I enjoy travelling between all the different cities rather than being confined to just one. It was also nice to see some more appreciation for AC3 here, I feel that game often gets over looked and over shadowed because it's sandwiched between the Ezio trilogy and Black Flag.
Since you're into Star Wars I'd recommend trying out the Halo series if you've not done so already. As long as you're ok with FPS games I think you'd really enjoy Halo.
Great video, and I enjoyed your list of games we both have enjoyed, like Darksiders ect but to be honest I haven't enjoyed a Playstation console since the ps3 but i still game🤷♂️😊
Be awesome to see you gaming!!!
For the past year or so I've had a living word document where I've kept track of my top 50/20/10/5 games. It's a little reminder to myself to stop buying so much new stuff all the time and to just appreciate what I currently have.
I'm a big-big retro game fan but if I'm being truthful then Rachet and Clank Rift Apart is my absolute favorite game of all time. Whenever I hear people act indifferent about it, I can only assume they didn't play it on a 4K TV. The game looks unbelievable with HDR and 120 Hz.
Happy Friday Eve Jay!!!
Same to you Alfred!
Great video Jay and Darksiders is my favorite game as well
Cool to find someone else who knows those!
@@snarkyjay snarkyjay you too pretty and fine awesome reviewer
Now Red dead 2 in VR would be amazing!!!
Have you heard of Lethal Company? It's an extraction horror game where you head to an abandoned structure, looting any items you find while dealing with monsters lurking within. It's currently my favorite game, and I recommend you check it out to see if it's worth your time.
Woah it's got fantastic steam reviews
@@Guitario666 Yep. It may look stupid on the outside, but it really is a great game if you give it a try.
I like the list..it's very diferent from others🙌
Final Fantasy 7, Darksiders, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, Batman Arkham City are the best games to play and I am glad you are enjoying the game and you pick the best games to play.❤🤩
Thank u, Jay. Love Darksiders
Infamous Second Son. Yup.
FF XIV. Not for me but I'm glad you finally got to enjoy one. Kinda curious why you weren't allowed as a youngster.
Darksiders. Oh hell yes! Played them all and loved them. On a related note, may I recommend Legacy of Kaine: Soul Reaver from 1999, it's a masterpiece with a unique mechanic.
AC: Brotherhood. I'm right there with you sister.
Batman AA. Only got to play a iittle of this one as I only had it through Game Pass at a time when I wasn't playing much.
Wolf Among Us. I'm afriad I could never get the quicktime thing so I didn't play this one at all.
AC III. I enjoyed it more than most of the online critics seemed to but for me it's Black Flag that tops those games.
Last of Us. Afraid I'm PC and Xbox only these days so I totally missed this, it looked good though.
RDR. Of course, I'm always surprised when people don't like this.
RDR II. Well, I'm kinda not surprised. Another that I only played a little of as I had to borrow a copy but I'll get around to it, some day.
We seem to have some similar tastes though your honourable mentions leave me in the dust. Platformers and shooters (and the aforementioned quicktime games) require pretty good reflexes and these days mine suck. I'll not list a top ten but suffice to say it includes games like X-Com, Baldur's Gate (the original), Fable II and the entire Civilization series.
Great stuff as always Jay, thanks for sharing. Love and light as always.
I bawled at the end of RDR2 as well. Arthur was probably one of my favorite characters of all time. If you like running and gunning, one of my favorite games for that is Just Cause 3. Finding creative and exciting ways to blow stuff up is half the fun. It’s like GTA 5 but more explosive in my opinion. And if you’re looking for an intriguing storyline that ties together into one universe, check out all the games by Remedy Entertainment. Namely, the Alan Wake games and Control.
Happy Friday Eve Jay!! I had no idea you played Final Fantasy!!
You too Kaden!
I only played the one, but I loved it.
Concur with most of them. My list differs a bit, but your list is respectable. 👌
We liked and have been subscribed for while, I've some of these games, my son has played all and argue with you heavily in your order of the best 😂
Great. That’s why I said it’s MY PERSONAL FAVORITE LIST, not the BEST. No arguments needed.
Love the Wolf Among Us I would really love for the sequel to finally come out lol.
like you, I sometimes think the Darksider's series of games was JUST a fun fever dream.
Edit: Little Big Planet is all ages for a reason because it is just fun, and Ratchet and Clack is legit the #3 behind Mario and Sonic for all ages straight joy and great game play. No need to be shy Snarky, great list of games. Thanks for sharing.
Ac 3 came out when i was in middle school, Love that game Connor is definitely a cool protagonist also love rdr and rdr 2 Nice list Jay.
Dragons Lair 1 & 2 and Space Ace i remember the days of the 80s Arcades and seeing this game MIND BLOWN i got them on my Tablet
You’re not alone with the Darksiders series. I LOVE the series. I’ve played them in the PS3 & PS4. And if they release versions for the PS5. I’ll play them there. I keep hoping a new game is released. 🤞🏾
Beautiful as usual 👍🏼😎
Halo is my number one favorite game series of all time but the 9 others that I love are Gears of War, Skyrim, Fallout, Grand Theft Auto (especially 4), Left 4 Dead, Arkham City, Mass Effect, Resident Evil 4, and Call of Duty 4.
This is a great list!
Excellent list of games! The only ones I haven’t played from your list is Red Dead Redemption 1&2. I do have both of them but just haven’t put in the time to play them but one day I’ll get around to it.
Some of my personal favorite games include The Last of Us, Sonic Adventure 2, Uncharted 2, Resident Evil 4, Batman Arkham City, Spider-Man PS4, and Until Dawn just to name a few.
When I think of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, I always think of the Tobuscus song about it.
Jay, i'm a huge fan of the Final Fantasy game franchise i'm mixed on XV but I would recommend to you the OG Final Fantasy VII, VIII, and X for a play. All three have memorable stories, beloved characters, and X's ending will make you cry if you play it trust me one of those titles will have you replace XV as your favorite they're that good. I also enjoyed the first FF VII remake which has a few twists of it's own haven't played Rebirth because I don't have a PS5 yet but it's on my list when I do.
This is a pretty great list. Hard to argue with many on here, though AC3 is a pretty controversial pick for a top 10 list (obviously, personal favorites are what they are). I played a lot of AC games, back in the day. Connor was not my favorite, but I did like all the assassin stuff and the ship sailing led into AC4, which was a lot of fun.
If you haven’t played it, Shadow of the Colossus is an amazing game (though it’s a bit of a puzzle game, so you might not enjoy it from what you said in the video). Also Knights of the Old Republic (though the graphics are pretty dated) is great as well.
Videos like this are what the gaming community needs right now. With all the drama that’s been going on with game devs, game journalists and lists about games to avoid, it’s nice to hear about games that are fun.
Great list, I can only hope they’re still working on The Wolf Among Us 2. Funny I never played either Red Dead Redemption games and I have the second game just collecting dust. That needs to change soon
Solid list. Somehow I never played RDRII, but I really should.
I agree with most of your top ten, especially both Red Deads and The Last Of Us.
Another series you could try, if you haven't already, is the Grand Theft Auto games. 3 onwards are some of my favourites.
Good list. Do you think you would be interested in trying out Helldivers 2? That's the big game right now. It's one of the best games I've ever played. You should experience it.
Can't argue with the Red Dead games. I've been gaming a lot longer and the level of detail in RDR2 is basically the best ever seen.
Nice to see some love for InFamous Second Son, too
Great video.❤
Any list that references the Sly Cooper games is a good list, even if it's just an honorable mention.
Love video I love Red Dead as well just wish they keep updating Red Dead 2 online . Are try live stream with pc with video capture card and OBS or console with hdmi splitter and video capture card ? Because Amazon has good one's.
Very awesome list
Glad you think so!
You say it like it is ,snarky jay!
5:36 Troy Baker is in Charalanahzard (Alanah Pearce) latest weekly podcast "EPISODE 150!!! | Play, Watch, Listen". I love shoptalk. Learning is fun.
Great List! Red Dead Redemption 2 is my all time favorite game as well. I also really enjoyed Ghost of Tsushima you should check it out. It feels just like watching an Akira Kurosawa movie 😊
I’ve heard great things about it!
Solid list!
Huge fan of the Darksiders games, and also loving the Remnant series by the same devs which is basically Darksiders meets Dark Souls….Wolf Among Us is also one that should get more love elsewhere, as everyone always talks about The Walking Dead, but I probably enjoy Wolf way more! Only Tales from the Borderlands beats it as my favourite Telltales game….and Red Dead Redemption used to be my favourite game ever, until Red Dead Redemption 2 came out…so I can’t argue with those as the top 2 either! Gotta live your best cowboy/girl life, and these let you do that, so….😁 Seeing as I’ve recommended a couple of games based on those others, for the Red Dead type recommendation I’ll go with Gun, which is another great cowboy game!
Absolutely love Red Dead Redemption 2. On my 18th play through. It’s an amazing game.
I've been a gamer since the Atari 2600, and I'm not even sure I could make a top 10 list with any certainty.
This whole video I've been thinking of one title, one franchise after another, and they're all so good, I can't really compare them critically against one another.
I'm mostly sandbox RPGer I would probably list Kotor one and two , Fallout NV , Morrowind , Skyrim , GTA 3&5 , Red dead I&2 , FF7.
Darksiders is such a good franchise, one of my favourites too.
You dear sweet summer child. You have not ventured into the depths of Hallownest. You've not traversed to the peak of Mt Celeste. Cave Johnson has not guided you through portals and the heartless still pour into your world's unsealed door. Shadow Moses is under threat and the moon is still falling.
Let me stop, I'm just messing around. But those are hints to some recommendations when you get a chance. There's a ton of great titles out there (even in 2D).
Presumptuous of me to assume you haven't played them, but it was fun to type.
I’m more old school Mario 3, Tetris, Punch Out, NBA Jam, Metal Gear Solid, Soul Caliber, Turtles 2, 007, Mario Cart. I love the graphics and the stories of today’s games but some of them the gameplay is just too difficult. I’m old! You do have a great list! The last of us is amazing!
Resident evil 4, Zelda Nintendo 64 metal gear solid, Batman arkham city, Conan exiles, enemy within 2, enemy within, alone in the dark 3, silent hill, alien isolation and my number is SKYRIM. Skyrim my favorite game ever.
Haven't played RDR2 yet myself, though the Call of Juarez series was fairly good IMO. Many of those you listed I haven't played, and some around when I didn't have gaming systems.
When I was a kid though, I think the first game I played was 1942 on NES even though I couldn't beat the 3rd boss. Still okay, neat music.
MiG 29 for Windows 3.1 was super fun though, until the memory was upgraded and it was too fast to play anymore. Same company which made it also made Tachyon, which is pretty much Bruce Campbell in spaaaaaaaaaaaaaace!!!
Red Alert was neat, and funny with the shock troopers saying "extra crispy!". Generals was the first game I finished playing the campaign of though, and CnC General's Zero Hour has some of the funniest one-liners and some cool stuff to work with in making enemies nice and toasty as well.
N64 GoldenEye helped distract me from depressing thoughts around when my dad passed away due to lung cancer, and it was also the only game I liked playing multiplayer mode on as it's in person and they can just kick me for disliking me or being angry when I won.
Then around 2000ish, after my mom married again, they decided "videogames cause violence" and from then onward I couldn't play videogames or watch TV. And I was homeless for a while then also, so that was such a real freaking joy too.
After I married my future ex-wife, I was able to afford a gaming computer then as well around 2010, and really liked Sins of a Solar Empire, Darkest of Days, Sword of the Stars, and Mass Effect's series. Then after she left me in 2015, I liked playing XCom Enemy Unknown, Dead Space 2, Fallout, Battlefield 1, and Infinite Warfare.
Now with only a potato computer presently, I'm back to playing games from around the early 2000's as on GOG mostly. Yay. But like Star Wolves' series is fairly cool, tried playing X: Beyond the Frontier but it's tedious with infinite trading, although Space Commander War & Trade also has a lot of trade but isn't as boring as the first X game seems to me presently. Oh, finally got to play the StarCraft games, well of Star Craft 2 only Wings of Liberty, but that's rather awesome.
Generally I like games set in space, as humanity should have its destiny in space.
