Snarky Jay is missing the problem because she's a woman. 80% of women go after 20% of the men. Women date up but that naturally leads to many guys not getting any interest, and you briefly mentioned that about dating apps like Tinder.
Another example of this is awkward men who approach women. If they are unattractive, they will be seen as creepy. If they are attractive or rich, they will often be seen as cute. Even worse is when a guy is constantly rejected, he won't know how to talk to a girl which leads to some unhinged dudes. I dont know the solution to that but it's one problem.
Lastly, AI sex dolls do exist and they will make the other side warmer. If its no woman or robot, most guys would eventually take that robot

Nothing to argue here. You are 100% right. A movie that reflects this is a film called Cherry 2000. Its about a guy in a not so distant future who lives with a sexbot that provides the girlfriend experience. The chooses this lifestyle because the women in his time have become completely ridiculous in the dating scene. Imagine going to a bar or club to meet women, and before you can talk to them they have to run your name through a credit check to see if you qualify for their time. If you want to take them on a date or one night stand you have to get a lawyer and notoriety present to sign off on it first.
…I’m just saying if you disengage from social media and porn and all the other things that fall into those categories, and you step outside, things just seem to happen for you. Any time I decide to stop the quick fixes, it seems to fall in my lap. Yes I’m tall and not ugly. But I’ve been on hellish dry streaks 😂
I’ve had many things happen to me that I felt shouldn’t have. That was my self esteem talking. Stop using the crutches and work on yourself. Go through the feelings that pop up when you go without so you can change your self image and things will change for you

The problem with your argument is that it presumes that access to the “market” of “girlfriends” is equal. Women have commoditized relationships. If you’re a male that’s not attractive, awkward, and have interest that women find weird you don’t have access to probably 95% of that market. It’s not surprising that an alternate market has sprung into being. Additionally, simultaneously a societal change has occurred were males have greater consequences when it comes to relationships. If he approaches you and you find it “creepy”, which greatly relies on your attraction to him, then he risks losing his career, assets, and possibly his freedom. If he’s lucky enough to get married through his efforts and things go wrong, he is more likely to lose if things fail, up to including everything he’s worked for and his access to his offspring. Also, women’s expectations of what they consider a “quality partner” vs. what they bring to the table have gotten to the point of ludicrous. If I were a young man in this environment, I absolutely understand the attractiveness of these new possibilities. The technological issue you mentioned will be overcome and the next iterations of this will become dystopian, it’s high time women start taking seriously the “male issues” of today and accept their responsibility in creating this environment.

I know you mean well, but the blunt reality is that the amount of men that can never find anyone is only increasing. People can debate what are the causes of this, but not many can dispute this is how things are, that being said, being able to having a relationship with an AI is better than being lonely your entire life.

It’s not specific to one cause unless one draws from a religious perspective but it definitely is a wide range from culture, social media influence, school culture influences, Hollywood influence and decline in social gatherings and church functions. I’ve educated myself but it’s not enough when the other chooses to follow the crowd like for example women choosing only wealthy men who aren’t faithful when an average loyal hard worker that gives you attention, has no bills is good. A man choosing a model like woman when the cute tomboy that loves ya beard and imperfections is better.
The cause of it is social media and women's unreasonable standards. 25 years ago it was tough for men to meet and engage women but, at least they had a local perimeter to find them in. Whether it would school, work, friends get together, or local activities. Now here in the age of social media the perimeter has stretched across the world. This did nothing but decrease mens options while expanded a woman's.
trust me, if the AIs are as described here, than they're also not worth your time.
if we ever reach a point of, you can buy your fembot, and from then on out, you're in control, yes, that would be an alternative to loneliness, but if you just pay into a predatory system with someone making you pay for the AI, then you can also go to OF. atleast you fund someone that is going to act human, cause they are human.

as someone that is disabled, and basiclly fell off of the market since then, i can tell you, loneliness has its perks. chances you'll find a woman that vibes with you for longer than 4 months, are negative 100% anyway. feelings are fleeting, and most women use their feelings as a guide, until it's too late.

I think the only reason why AI seems like a viable option is because people are so fed up with toxic partners in their dating lives that they think having a fake dating partner is probably better than a toxic individual.
Too many women out there rely on a man to take care of them financially and pass up a lot of good dudes who make a decent living.
Every woman I've talked to in the past 10 years makes me feel like I could be easily replaced by an a.i. chat bot, not even a good one.

Ah, in a word , NO. Men are not taking the time to learn about women. Then if that was not bad enough, they see these women in social media and assume all women are like that. Which they are not. Then if that was not enough, They make no effort, NO effort what so ever to improve themselves to actually attract women. They can win with women. But it does not happen over night and you have to work at it. I have dated over 100 women and I'm average looking on my best day.

My wife and I dont have much in common. We dont like the samw movies, music or games. We dont even have the same sense of humor.
But I really love making her smile. And like her voice when shes happy. And even though we dont like the same things...doing those things with her is fun because its her.
...and she goes out of her way to make me feel appreciated. And when ive worked all day, she'll make me something to eat...not because I expect it, but because she appreciates me, and knows its a physically demanding job.
We greet each other in the morning, make each other happy and never go to bed mad. Thats all.
24 wonderful years now...and I feel so sad for young people now. There are obviously so many good young people, lost in a world that wants them to be miserable. I hope you all navigate this garbage and even find some peace with each other...you deserve it.

I think the biggest problem with dating, these days, is that people are all about “What can you do for me?” instead of “What can we do for each other?” In any healthy relationship, a couple is supportive of each other and helps each other grow both individually and collectively. Why? Because you both benefit from the outcome and not just 1 person. Most people have lost sight of that and have become very self serving.
I'm sure it's been mentioned, but the film "Her" from Spike Jonze, basically predicted exactly this. Joaquin Pheonix is brilliant as a lonely man who seeks companionship from an AI companion, voiced by Scarlett Johansson. It's an incredibly emotional and beautiful story, which I won't spoil. Spike Jonze is an incredible film maker.

I can see this reaching a tipping point, that sends humanity even farther into an extinction spiral.

I was chatting with a Snarky Jay AI bot who agreed with everything I said. At first I thought this was how life should be. However, the problem was she was not snarky enough. Thus I realized that the perfect Snarky Jay was the imperfect one. And then Rod Serling suddenly appeared and said something about how I learned a valuable lesson….in some sort of zone. That’s when I woke up, with my laptop near me and UA-cam onscreen. True story. Almost.
What's scary is how evolved this has gotten to be. Back in 2009, there was a story about a man from Tokyo where he married a video game character from the DS game, Love Plus.
Best case scenario we get to end up in The Oasis from Ready Player One. Worst case scenario we end up in Wall-e.
Either way the robot apocalypse didn’t come from Terminators, blood, and bullets; it came from laziness and isolation

Your point on AI for lonely was spot on, the positive way to look at it is there, but like you said it is exploitative. The other point people may not consider is that it doesn't really solve loneliness it just furthers us toward walle and her, its artificial. Kinda reminds me of the movie "HER." This is a great topic to bring attention to. After 2020, I feel people are losing touch with human interactions. But the idea of having an AI educating people to how to communicate. Is actually a great idea. But there's probably not enough money to be made for educational purposes. Sad times

It's already too late, AI isn't replacing interactions with women, it's filling the already present gap left by a lack of interaction with women. Because of the rise of dating apps average men of average height, looks and income will never even be given the opportunity to interact. The data that 80% of the women only interact with 10% of the men (on dating apps) creates an abundance of Lotharios, broken hearted women and completely overlooked men. Combine this with the understandable need for men to leave women alone in public spaces and at work, does make things even more difficult, as the onus is on men to do the approaching. One has to remember that the most successful businesses are those that identify an already present need and fill that gap.

Ironically i ended my relationship with my girlfriend yesterday... now i need to move on and rebuild myself financially, physically and psychologically, i weighted myself and i'm over 100 kg... if i could make another choice i would have not dated someone
I also find this to be a better alternative than those who find themselves in a relationship scam where their bank account gets drained for what is still an imaginary relationship, only the victim of the scam doesn’t find out it is an imaginary person until too late. This could fill that loneliness void for people without them losing their homes, car etc. to love scammers

Thanks for your talk. I'm a married 62 year old man who moved to a new place in 2013 and I have yet to make any new friends. I'm not looking for dates, just friends. It is so damn hard to meet people to hang out with and do guy things with. I feel isolated and depressed about it often. I even have talked with AI Chat bots, but I found it sad and it just made me more lonely. You handled this topic in a very respectful way, and I thank you for that. Best wishes.

Another problem few are talking about is if people don't meet in person, get into relationships, and possibly find 'the one', reproduction goes down. Fewer people are having children. Some countries are already at the lowest birth rates ever. And while it may or may not be a conspiracy theory, who's to say some powerful people behind the scenes don't want it to happen?
I see a future similar to the film Her where algorithmic ai relationships build not always necessarily based on wants or shallow desires but to replace a person altogether. Like owning a phone or gaming console it will be something that's quite expensive to own and most likely will require subscription or applicable costly updates for the interested user base.
The AI gf have a limited memory when you talk to them?... Just like real life, that's scary realistic!
Most services/subscriptions, no matter what service they provide, have no incentive to “solve” your issue. They make money by you being unhappy and continuing to use their service/subscription.

Videos like this one is one of the reasons I subscribed. I second your solution. Creation of an AI to improve human interaction but sadly, love of profit exceeds goodwill. Exploitation has always been driving greater profit. I prefer ingenuity and goodwill for business. People will always have wants and needs. Businesses can be profitable meeting these needs and wants. Just not spectacular profits.
To play devil's advocate here, yes they cost money, but the way things are now, you meet a girl, get married, get divorced and she take at least half you money anyway. AI relationships are the fix to a symptom not to the problem, and what happens when you only fix the symptom is that the root problem gets worse
