There is not a more nostalgic game for me than Skyrim. I played Skyrim for the first time at age 8 at my cousins house and I didn’t even know what levels were, but I had a blast. Every time I go back to Skyrim that’s the only thing I can play for at least a month. There’s just an infinite replay ability

As someone who has played Persona 5 and Persona 5 Royal many times, I must say that it is possible to max out all of the confidants on the first playthrough. It just takes a lot of planning, research, and trial and error.

Quite an interesting line-up of games, Raven.

Awesome list of game Raven. If there's a couple of games I'd recommend trying out it would be War of the Monsters for its awesome soundtrack, combat, maps, and its monsters paying omage to classic kaiju. Godzilla Save The Earth. It's a Godzilla fighting game what more do you want? And Predator Concrete Jungle, a hidden gem of a game that expands upon the predator lore with a very comic book like story and fun levels. It's challenging at times, but definitely worth a try.

This was a great list, Raven! I agree with most of them, there were just a few that I hadn’t played (like Sly Cooper and Dragon Age: Inquisition)

About For Honor on your liste, well....
Its baisically the same for me. I see all the bad the game has, yet i still play it as passionately as day 1. I dont main Highlander for his moveset, i play him cause i really like the charakter ubi made for him. I completely understand your points in this video. Its just a shame that all of my friends who used to play with me have given up on it. Truly, these last updates on for honor werent healthy for itself, but i have trust in the devs to (somehow) fix it again. Anyway, have a nice day!

I'm always happy when someone mentions valkyria chronicles.
The series has such a unique gamplay system and i always felt like they do certain story beats that you don't see often. Example without spoiling the first game, how often do you see a racist character get redeemed?
I just beat the 4th game yesterday off a long break so the fact you bring it up is a very funny coincidence.

This was a very solid list of games though I'm curious if you've played any of the infamous games because those are so much fun for me. Sucker punch has had outstanding controls for their games and I love it

My personal favorite game is Skies of Arcadia. It's a classic ragtag band of heroes JRPG done right, with a varied and fun setting, cool characters, a story with a variety of twists and turns that make sense, and did I mention the great characters?
The battle system isn't perfect, but it's still good quality battling with strategy in how you fight enemies.
The Sly Cooper games were a lot of fun.
I never got far in Dragon Age: Origins, but I LOVED the Mage opening story, and the Blood Knight armor for Mass Effect 2 helped me get into that game.
Monster Hunter World is great, and there's PC mods for health bars if you're on PC.
I ruined Halo Reach for a former friend, because it was his character's helmet in the opening cut scene, but my character's helmet in the last cut scene because I survived longer.
Never played any of the Witcher games.
Never played Battlefront much either. I only played one modern one.
Also never played Ghost of Tsushima, but it sounds good.
Never played For Honor either, but it looks like a fun diversion.
EDIT: Skyrim is okay. Nowhere near my favorite, but it held my attention for 50 hours.

Glad to see Xcom2 getting recognition. It’s an amazing series. If you like Xcom 2 you should check out Phoenix Point. It’s made by the creators of the original Xcom games, and the ground combat is just as diverse as the newer games.

Games that i think you might like (idk if you played them or not) GOW (2018), Oblivion, Mafia 2, Red Dead 1 and 2, Fallout 2, 3, and New Vegas, Hades, Kingdom Come: Deliverance and Pokemon White

This is gonna be a long comment/rant.
Half Life 2 has been and will continue to be my favorite video game of all time. It has just enough of a story to keep you entertained and sucked in; and if you really dig into it there is a full iceburg of lovecraftian horrors and powers, with a healthy amount of leaning on the 4th wall. But it also doesn't bore you with walls of text and exposition dumps.
Black Mesa is a close second for me, since it takes everything good about the first Half Life and makes it great; and takes the bad and makes it good. Granted, Xen does drag on a little bit too long, and there are times where it's clear the Source Engine is really straining to keep up; but overall it's a great game. I remember seeing these two youtubers play it separately, one being DSP Gaming (who is... well y'all know who he is; if you don't know, he's someone you look to in how NOT to play a video game); and the other I don't even remember the name of. They both hated it because for DSP, he thought pretty much everything in it was already done (not realizing that Half Life was the OG FPS that everyone ruthlessly copied in some capacity). The other guy hated it because he though it was too hard (not realizing that he had it on hard mode), and bashed it repeatedly. And I think they missed the point of it; that a game was so loved and respected that a group of people took 15 years of their lives, working in their free time, to make a beloved game playable to modern audiences who wouldn't even give it a second glance because of dated graphics or some crap like that.
I admit guys, I'm a little biased against RPG's like Skyrim; both because fantasy is not a big thing for me (LOTR and Eragon are the only two Fantasy Franchises I love), but also because the way they do storytelling didn't jib with me.
I like having some form of freedom in a game; I don't want a movie with a little bit of control in it like Until Dawn. But I also don't want a total open world because... You get lost in it, and the long spaces between action and the information dumps really turns me off. I miss old fashioned Linear shooters like Half Life, or the OG Halo Trilogy; because it gave you the option of running through guns blazing without a care in the world for the story, or you could take your time and let yourself get immersed in the world around you.
Ross Scott had a good graphic for what he called "Sane Level Design", with a green sweet spot in the middle; and two red spots at the ends. The Left end he called "Game movie/May as well be an arcade rail shooter". The Middle he called, "Sane/Good Level Design", in which he put Half Life 2, though it leaned a little to the left in terms of how restrictive it could be. And the Right he called, "A Fucking Maze/Open World with no Boundaries in which you get completely lost."
Pretty much all games nowadays fall into one of the two extremes; they're either too restrictive that you may as well have no control, or they're so unrestrictive that I lose the narrative and most of my interest.
It's why I've been losing interest in video games as of late.

hey, given what you said about xcom 2, maybe you want to try a mod called
"Long War 2". it addresses some of the issues you said you had with the game being too short and easy while also adding new content like 4 new character classes and balance changes to the existing ones, new weapons and enemy types, and a revamped strategy layer

I do feel that the Batmobile is unnecessarily present in parts where it doesn't need to be, but I wouldn't say that it's a problem when it's used for puzzle solving. At that point it's just another tool you utilize to solve a riddle. It helped make new and interesting puzzles.

Skyrim is so overrated and Persona 5 Deserves the spot more

  • @anonymussicarius8899
    @anonymussicarius8899 2 роки тому

I am not saying that your, or anyomes enjoyment of Skyrim is wrong, but I am saying that the only objective aspect Morrowind and Daggerfall are weaker than Skyrim is the combat. All other aspecst skill development, quests, abundance of different styles of equipment and dressing up (in Morrowind the left and right pauldrosn were two different equipment-slots, one could wear cloths UNDER the armor, and a gown above the armor simultaneously) are superior to Oblivion and Skyrim. (graphics is no objective reason for as graphics is aesthetics, it is a subjective preference)
Skyrim is fun, no reason to deny this, but if one comes from the older games and compares the ammount of cut features (already happening in Oblivion, and I am sure Daggerfall beginners will say similar things about Morrowind XD) one can not help but mourn their loss and feel the gameplay somewhat shallow.
Edit: And I certainly do not want to claim that the older games were flawless masterpieces, or that the newer games didn´t made good developments too, but it would have been nice if those newer things would be enjoyable combined with the good old features.
