- Hey guys, welcome back! If you’re new here my name is Sean Dove, Im a motion designer from Melbourne, Australia - and today we are going to take a look at another Cinema 4D quick tip.
This one is getting back to basics’, we will set up a simple keyframe animation, use Cinema 4D’s deformers to enhance it, creating some great anticipation and fluid motion - then finally get it all ready to render out.
Alright, lets jump straight in!

yupyupyup and yup
Awesome tutorial. I loved it. I did it with purple text and created a material in purple instead of black but the render shows black. Any idea why?
Superb tutorial. Love the way you go around C4D treating it with so much affection. Your love for c4D is clear to see.
This is one of the best channels on learning C4D. Hey MAn! Please don't give up making these tutorials.
Yee's! You're back!
how to make a luminous shadow for the "black version"?
Welcome back Sean
Back to basics is good man! Everyone wants to do the new shinny thing without knowing fundamentals. Cheers SD🤟🙏
Hey Sean thanks man! I have completed your tutorial with a logo instead of DOPE - for some reason the logo (or anything I put in) is not 100% black, it always looks grey. Not sure what I have done to have this happen or how to fix it. In my viewport it looks pure black then physical render makes it grey? Any pointers as to why that is happening? (EDIT: as a work around, i enabled the filter in the picture viewer, dropped saturation to -4%, decreased brightness to -20% and bumped up contrast to +56% - gave me the same look as you but no idea why following your steps exact kept giving me the washed out black?) Cheers SD ty again
Logan Pinney Hey mate! If you have the luminance channel full black you should be good to go - if it’s looking washed out double check you don’t have reflectance turned on by default as the specular may be giving you grief.
Hope that helps!
Glad you're back, I've missed these tutorials!
Perfect way and tone for teaching Sean, great stuff!
Love your smiles, guys ❤
you are the best , keep doing toturial videos
You are best tutor in youtube 🙌🏼 , upload more plsss
Amazing tutorial. Really easy to follow on as a noob. Thanks dude!
Question for anyone knows: the dope PSD texture - how can I have a different texture on each side? So it spins round to reveal different text?
in polygon edit mode just select the surface you want, then drop your texture onto it while being selected. c4d will create a texture tag for those polygons...
Can you make a tutorial on motion tracking robot arm with cinema 4d🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 ......
Hi Sean,
Why did you stop making tutorials?
Possible to make a tutorial about animations and how to use them in After Effects afterwards? Great video btw
tell someone! what are the settings for a dark scene?
Apologies if I skipped that part or it wasn’t clear - once I had rendered out the normal version I took that export into after effects and applied an ‘invert’ effect to get the black finish with luminous shadows - hope that helps!
@@SeanDove How simple! Thanks! I could think of it...
Hi Sean, is it possible without using PSD files?
Gday Mate. Before I practice, Is this possible in R14 ?
Hi Sean, I am Manu from India. I have been waiting for your next tutorial. Its been a long time you did not post any C4D tutorial. Please make a tutorial on Mograph Colour Shader and fields system in a very simple way. Waiting for your reply. Love from India..💖💖
