  • We are seeing an increase number of patients with #diabetes mellitus having kidney involvement and kidney failure
The main reasons are uncontrolled diabetes, uncontrolled #hypertension & uncontrolled #lipids . Many patients are on #nsaids called #painkillers in common language.
If diabetes remains uncontrolled, then the chances of developing #complications of diabetes are high. Three important diabetic complications are:
    #retinopathy
    #heartfailure & #heartattack
    #nephropathy
These are the crippling and life threatening ones.
Others are common but they are irritating and troubling but do not decrease life expectancy. These are:
    #neuropathy
    Increase chances of #infection
    #fatty_liver #fattyliverdisease
    #gallstones
    #erectile_dysfunction
    #pruritus etc.
We may soon see an epidemic sort of problem all over India as most patients of diabetes are uncontrolled. More than 70% #diabetics are uncontrolled, which means their #hba1c is more than 7%. More dialysis plants will be needed. The quality of life will be poor and lifespan will decrease.
Do take care of your health and prevent complications. Till I meet you in my next video, take care of yourself and your family, Khuda Hafiz, have a Nice time, Bye …
Disclaimer: Medicine is an ever evolving science and one should consult his family doctor before taking any drug etc.

It is indeed. It is crippling our middle aged population which is most productive. The cost of living with dialysis is enormous. So prevention is better.

Indeed Sir. Kidney failure is assuming such alarming proportions. The quality of life decreases rapidly as this sets in. It drains you physically & monetarily. Worst complication I think.

You are absolutely right. This rapidly increasing problem is going to tax the healthcare facilities in the future. More dialysis centers will be needed. Lots of money will go down the dialysis drains. A grim situation indeed.
