  • If you have #diabetes what can you do to #prevent #kidneydisease ?
If you have diabetes, there are several steps you can take to help lower your risk of #diabetic kidney disease.
Let’s look at each of these factors:
Stick to your treatment plan. To reduce the risk of #diabetescomplications like diabetic kidney disease, it’s vitally important to follow the #diabetestreatment plan developed by your doctor.
    This includes:
    1. #monitoring your #bloodsugar #bloodsugarcontrol
    2. taking all #diabetesmedication #diabetesmedicines exactly as directed
    3. following your #diabetesdietplan
    4. testing #a1c regularly, as recommended by your doctor
    5. seeing your doctor if you have consistently #highbloodsugar readings
    6. Treat #highbloodpressure . Because high blood pressure increases the risk of #kidneydisease #kidneyfailure , it’s important to monitor your blood pressure. If you have high blood pressure, your doctor can prescribe medications to help manage it.
    7. Address #highcholesterol Having high #cholesterol #cholesterolmanagement can contribute to #heartdisease #heartattack & cause further damage to #bloodvessels . If you have high cholesterol, it can be managed using medications called #statins .
    8. Try to #quitsmokingnow #quitsmoking #quitsmokingtoday . #smoking also increases your risk of kidney disease. If you smoke, consider talking with your doctor about developing a plan to quit.
    9. #manageweight . If #overweight or #obesity is a concern for you, ask your doctor about healthy #ways_to_lose_weight #loseweight #loseweightfast #loseweightnow
    10. Get #regularexercise #exercises #exerciseathome Regular exercise is good for both your #physicalhealth & #mentalhealth . It can also help lower blood pressure and aid in weight management.
    11. Stop drinking #alcohol #stopdrinkingalcohol #stopdrinking . Drinking alcohol can be hard on both your liver and your kidneys. It may also increase your blood pressure.
    12. Avoid certain medications. Some medications, such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs ( #nsaids like #ibuprofen & #naproxen #diclofenac #aceclofenac #etoricoxib can lead to kidney damage. Ask your doctor about which medications to avoid and which ones are safe for you to take. In addition avoid #antibiotics which are harmful for the kidneys like #Gentamicin #Amikacin #Cefazolin & a useless drug dangerous for kidneys called #remdesivir . Unnessary use of #diuretics should also be avoided.
    13. If you have diabetes, your doctor will screen you for kidney disease each year by measuring #egfr & #urine_albumin levels. This yearly screening can help detect kidney disease early and prevent additional damage from occurring.
    14. Avoid #dehydration especially when you have vomiting, diarrhea or other conditions. Loss of fluid from the body can lead to acute kidney injury especially in diabetic patients and those who have mildly increased renal function tests. This AKI can lead to permanent damage in many and lead to CKD.
We are seeing an increase number of patients with #diabetes mellitus having kidney involvement and kidney failure
The main reasons are uncontrolled diabetes, uncontrolled #hypertension & uncontrolled #lipids . Many patients are on #nsaids called #painkillers in common language.
    #heartfailure & #heartattack
    #nephropathy
These are the crippling and life threatening ones.
We may soon see an epidemic sort of problem all over India as most patients of diabetes are uncontrolled. More than 70% #diabetics are uncontrolled, which means their #hba1c is more than 7%. More dialysis plants will be needed. The quality of life will be poor and lifespan will decrease.
Do take care of your health and prevent complications. Till I meet you in my next video, take care of yourself and your family, Khuda Hafiz, have a Nice time, Bye …
Disclaimer: Medicine is an ever evolving science and one should consult his family doctor before taking any drug etc.

Keep your fasting sugar less than 120; your PP sugar less than 180 and your HbA1c less than 7%. Keep your BP less than 130/80. The mild rise in KFT will either come down to normal or settle at this level.
Do take precautions also in diet:
