    I'm so worried, it's been a week and I still can't reach my high notes anymore. I remember I got a bad cold and I had to make a video where I sing a rock n roll song and I really wanted to do it. I was able to sing the song quite easily with strong rock n roll vocal projections. After I was done recording, I noticed that my upper throat started to feel sore. Then the next day everything was fine, but then the next day after that day, I noticed I couldn't reach a mid ranged high note. It felt like someone put a lock on my voice and said, "nope, you ain't singing today boy! Hahaha!"
    So here I am a week later and some of my notes have come back, but I still can't reach those high notes and I just pray I won't be like this forever, I really need my voice. I wish I never got that cold, let alone over use my singing voice while sick. That's what did it, I over used my voice while sick. I should've just rested. Please give me some hope, will I be ok? I feel like seeing a doc would be a waste of money because most of my voice is back, but I can't reach those crucial high notes or my falsetto, I sound like that broken pinguin from Toy Story .Thanks for the video!

      Hi. Sorry for the slow reply! We can often feel like this and it can be frustrating. I know you said you don't want to see a doctor but seeing a voice specialist is really the only thing to provide reassurance if you are worried!

      @@VoxYoga It's totally fine, no worries. My voice is actually slowly getting better. It's taking a very long time, but every couple of days, my range improves slightly. I've almost got my falsetto back! To be honest, I've lost my trust in some doctors, at the end of the day, they always prescribe me medicine that makes me sicker and waste all my money. Good doctors who are truly passionate about aiding people is very rare these days. I can sense my body, and I don't feel any danger. God always takes care of me and I believe he lets me know when its time to see a doctor. Thank you for your advice because you never know, it's always good to be safe.

      I'm getting over laryngitis and my high notes are a struggle for me. I'm two and a half weeks post it and still struggling to reach notes. Just like you I know God will restore my voice but for now it's really distressing. I'm trying not to let it get me down

      @@tyrelstewz4003 Totally, God will heal you. My voice is pretty much back now. My falsetto still cracks and strains just a bit, but I can sing Beach Boys stuff again. My voice is still healing though. When I try to project high notes, I strain a bit whereas before I could project high rock n roll notes with ease. I'll tell you what though, it tool me about 2 months to get my notes back, so don't get down, your voice will definitely come back. Keep praying.

    I love the way you explain evrything, I suffer laryngitis a lot and reflux and now that am watching this video is because am having horse voice and I know how annoying it can be … I overuse my voice because I have two toddlers and am a teacher so I overuse my voice a lot so it’s not easy for me not to go a month without sore throat and I don’t know how to manage it with the way my daily routine goes

    Ive got laryngitis after having a chesty cold. My vocal chords are very sensitive and whenever I have lower respiratory illnesses my voice is usually affected. I haven’t been able to sing for like a week, and my voice hasn’t been getting better - I wake up in the morning and it’s so dry that nothing comes out. I probably made it worse by singing frequently while I had the cold.
    I went to see a pharmacist and he gave me some anti-inflammatory stuff, hopefully I get better soon.

    I had laryngitis 5months ago and my voice is not back to normal. My singing sounds terrible with silent higher notes ,nothing will come out. Please what can I do ? Shall I go on complete voice rest ?I want my bright singing voice back. Im due to have a camera down my throat in December but I'm fed up of this breathy ,wheezy sounding voice ,also during conversation my voice can just disappear too. What's happening ?any info will be much appreciated 👍 .

      Sorry to hear this. We usually say to see a specialist if the voice hasn't returned to normal after a few weeks. You've done the right thing in getting an appointment as you won't know what's going on until you have the laryngoscopy. In the meantime, voice rest and ensuring good vocal hygiene will keep your voice as healthy as possible.

    So I feel like it’s my outer muscles that are sore and swollen? Not necessarily my vocal cords.. but I feel like when I sing it feels enflamed in there.. I do take lessons and know technique for singing.. I have to sing tonight for a Cmas thing.. I can sing, but I hate to make it more swollen or take longer to get better! Im taking naproxen for inflammation.. and steaming.. anything else I can do?

    how long did it take you to get your voice back at 100% after recovering from viral Laryngitis

    • @VoxYoga
      @VoxYoga  2 роки тому +8

      I could sing again after about five days but unfortunately it took a couple of months to be 100%. This was potentially due to some very bad reflux shortly afterwards so I can't say if it was the laryngitis or not. Recovery is so different for everyone so there really isn't one rule!

    How long should you wait til you start singing again after having laryngitis?

    • @VoxYoga
      @VoxYoga  2 роки тому +4

      This is completely down to you and your symptoms. Once your voice is slowly coming back, starting gentle SOVT exercises can be beneficial. Laryngitis can last one day or seven depending on the cause so you need to listen to your body and take it slowly!

      I would recommend speaking to a healthcare professional just to put your mind at ease and refer you forward if they think there may be a problem. All the best 😌

    Ma'am,
    I had laryngitis a few months back, but my voice has still not recovered fully. I have still not found my full voice. Actually i had strained my swollen voice and that is how I am here. Now there is some itchiness and scratchiness a little above my vocal chords that I feel after speaking or singing even a little. What do I do?? How do I know if I should sing or not? Also I have to speak on a daily basis due to my job. I cannot stay on a vocal rest for more.

      Sorry to hear you're having voice problems. As it's been a few months I would really recommend seeing a specialist for a scope to check the health of the Vocal cords and larynx. In the mean time, having a good vocal health routine will be beneficial.
