I watched this about 6 weeks ago and started the collagen you recommended. I've been taking 1 scoop each day and just finished my first container. I have noticed significant improvement in my vocal flexibility. Thank you.
After bootcamp and covid, I lost my voice. It came back after a long time, but it is not the same, and it is much more limited, and gets inflamed quickly. Ken, I have run into an issue. My voice has been excellent up until I recently had some sort of illness. It felt like the flu for about 24 hours. The aftermath was an extremely hoarse voice.. As the hoarseness began to get better, I noticed I'm not able to sing falsetto or really anything above the lower registers. It really has me worried. My throat does feel irritated and sore, but it has been almost a month with little improvement. Any suggestions?
OMG IT REALLY HELPED. I got hit to the throat and my voice immediately changed into hoarse, which used to be really high pitch, i thought my dream of becoming a singer is crashed. But those exercises actually helped regain power and range. I'll be practicing daily with those videos.
mrcabassa here, climbing out of one more vocal valley. Picked up your vocal repair a few years ago. As always thanks, and it works if you work it. I had an awesome head voice in the 80's and sang the all the high harmonies to the female lead in the band at the time. it's coming back!
I've been wanting to try your exercises out for years, today's the day to do so :) My voice breaks & does that "wavy" sound often, even while talking. I sound a lot older than what I am. It even has that wavy sound with simple humming. I thought it was from anxiety but perhaps it's partially from the lack of collagen. Here's to some improvements in 2025 :)
This is very important stuff for everyone, especially if you often give speeches, do teaching or use your voice s lot in phone - actually if you have hearing difficulty and therefore use your voice in a bad way. Very good walk through, Ken! 😁👍
hi there, i was a young shy lass but my singing teacher pulled me up and offered me a place in her choir then i found i just came alive but never solo, only while alone id ever actually sing, then i went silent, music wise, until i was with my own children, i began to yodel and explore my own range, then i had a breakdown and id screamed myself almost mute, a week later id argued and roared in rage while still almost silently horse, at this point i felt an actual agony in my throat deep, then i took a year to speak without constantly having to cough a little to clear my voice after 5 or so words, i am a very verbal chatty person and had smoked for years, roll on 5 years, i was happier than ever, healthy etc but, when i wanted to sing it was just emotionally difficult as well because id taken my voice for granted and neglected it, now i am blessed with 3 musical and beautiful voiced kids and have no range at all, i didnt even know there could be any hope until recently with my daughter using tiktok and youtube, so here i am, i still actually try to sing and everyone is used to my lack of range especially with power ballads lol, now i have no self consiousness or embarrassment id loved to do small local stage plays with local kids, ill keep going but any extra advice and opinion would be very encouraging, thankyou very much B
Ken, I really loved this video where you are in your control room and I can see the recording studio behind you, I really miss the days where I played with my band at motorcycle rally's where all you saw was a crowd and no real faces. I was only the Bassist and did a little backing voices. I need to do my best to raise the money to attend some of your courses. The problem is I live in South Africa and you are in USA but WHEN I can I would also like to visit my Mother an Oldest Sister in North Alaska, I think she said Cohagin, It's a little Island where NASA launch their satalites from. My brother-in-law and his son are computer geniouses and are both employed by NASA.
Well Ken, I recently commented on Your 20 best metal vocalist video & made a statement that even though You’re the master, I’ll never get back my Matijevic voice. Then I find this video. We’re gonna find out 🤘
Every time I have a question or a doubt about how to prepare and train for singing I come back to your videos. Thank you for all the free knowledge you share, Ken!
I had a parathyroidectomy 3 days ago and I was so worried I wouldn't be able to sing again. The first thing I did when I woke up in recovery was test a little humming. LOL I wanted to start vocal rehab this week and your video is just perfect! Thank you for making it and for your suggestions on supplements to help moisten the vocal chords. xoxoxo

This is awesome! I am recovering from the flu and have no voice currently but I'm supposed to sing next week 😬 thank you so much for this! I'm going to have to check out your full course later because I deal with a chronic cough and phlegm and would love to work on my voice more in general.
Been doing these exercises -almost every day- since you published the clip 'Quickstart Vocal Warm Up For Guys' about a year ago. Still hating the lip-roll exercise though (pressing my chicks to do it), but definitively the three exercises work like a charm... if one does them correctly. Thanks so much for sharing all your free content Ken. Really appreciated. Take care. Bye.
Hey Ken! I lost my voice after singing back to back days while I was sick a little over a month ago. Since then any time I talk a lot or even attempt to sing I feel my voice go out very quickly. I also Coach basketball so it is hard to really rest my voice a lot. I am wondering if I should do these exercises when my voice is fading? Should try to rest my voice for a full day? Been avoiding singing but I feel like my voice should be back by now since it’s been a month so just curious if you might have any advice? Thanks!
Ancient Nutrion - that's Dr. Josh Axe. He has a lot of very interesting info on his site. I took this years Christmas chicken and made bone broth of the leftovers. That is supposed to contain a lot of collagen as well. Need to cook for a long time though. Not 20-30 min, rather 10-20 hours or even more. I also take hydrolyzed beef collagen type 1, 2 and 3. Every day. Just back from practise and all went well tonight. 12 months in the course and now I'm starting to learn how to pace myself for recording. You learn as you go. I noticed the headvoice is really crazy after months of training. There is like a block altitude between C5 and C6 where I can do pretty much anything with it. The program gives you a lot of strength! If you're on the fence I can tell you it will bring results given that you put the necessary time into it. I also noticed during the stamina workouts that my use of air has gone down significantly. I didn't even aim specifically for that. It has done that automatically after months of practise. Fantastic!
This is so helpful, thank you!! I’ve been suffering vocal injury (I’m an elementary music teacher so using my voice loudly ALL day, plus getting sick frequently). My background is classical voice and I’m wondering if I should worry about my soft pallet and larynx when doing these exercises? Especially on the bright “ee”
Hey @Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy Thank you for the information and I'm looking forward to learning more from you, as I signed up for your singing course last night 👍
I lost my voice after covid even 3 years later my voice stills weak & shallow. I used to have very strong & powerful voice. I have a leader, soothing &persuasive voice & good looking. Covid took away all those
A lot of tough viruses have been going around for the past few years. Some settle in the vocal cords, and last a long time. It's important to do some gentle vocal exercises to try to rehabilitate the cords upon recovery from the longer-term ailments. In many cases, the voice can be nursed back to health.
Piano player, I began siging along some covers 2 years ago. I thought I was mediocre but I discovered I got good pitch. But my vocal chords not always respond the same. I am a coffee drinker, does it make my voice worse or not ? A warm glass of water is new to me and I'm gonna try it...thanks Ken...I have to choose the best register voice to suite mine , for instance, with Billy Joel no problem, with Lennon no problem but McCartney it's more difficult. When I play and sign Small town Boy, I just can't reach the higher notes. I saw you perform More than a feeling, and I was very impressed. Is it possible for a nobody like me to reach those notes, I'm 62 of age.
Brad Delp's vocals are a high bar for goal-setting, but you might be amazed at the results you could achieve if you set your mind and body into motion in that direction. We're all somebody. We're all capable of more than we might give ourselves credit for. You'll never know unless you try. KenTamplinVocalAcademy.com/
Awesome video! Best advice I've got for healing my voice! I also found that pineapple juice has bromelain in it which is really good for the voice too. These tips were amazing
Dang Ken, this is awesome. I didn't realize you had the separate course. After c19 2 years ago my doc theorized that I had vagus nerve damage effecting my vocal chords. My voice hasn't improved in 2 years but I haven't really done anything specific - and just kind of accepted this outcome I guess. Edit: I should read your course emails more closely, I assumed it was the course I had already bought. That's on me!
@@kentamplin Ken I watched the video and I got a little misty, I was like Dang I used to do these scales with Ken in the car on the way to practice and church!! (The vocal warm up YT video in my favorites) Thanks for the info, Ken!!

Hi Ken, enjoying watching and learning from your videos . Just wondering if you have plans to post anything related to the effect of alcohol/ smoking as a singer ? cheers
ive bought this program a few years ago and it helped me trumandously. I'm a transexual woman, after the hormonal therapy and the final surgery, my voice has changed in frequencies and i 've "lost" my chest voice. Everytime i tried to sing like before, my voice cracked and it was impossible for me to do what i used to do... i was si sad. I used to train my voice with Ken Tamplin program, from 2014 to 2019 (date when i had the surgery) , i've learned a lot and my voice was in top shape thanks to him , well after i drank and went out too much... Discipline was too hard to handle for me , but when i decided to go back to my vocal lessons with Ken i wasn't able to do it like i used to ...at all. But when i ve finaly realized i lost my voice, my world turned down. I began buying the voice repair program and do it everyday for three months, i drank a lot of water, began Yoga Bikram lessons on a daily basis to learn how to breathe deeply, i bought the book from Dr Kourman about Acid reflux that Ken purposed in a video, and changed my eating habits. Then last year , i began being a part of Ken Tamplin vocal academy 3.0 and since i began doint it properly, my voice is back but better than before, my vocal range is wider, my chest voice is full back , i'm still learning, i always will; but i'm preparing my first album with pro musicians that are great :) and i'm the happiest. Singing is my dream since i am a little girl, i realized my dream to become a woman, and i'm proud of myself, i'm gonna now realize my dream to be a singer, recording independant albums and tour Europe with my future band and maybe the WORLD ? Who knows :) But i d like to say thank you to Ken, i stayed with him as i trust him and we love the same artists and i like to sing just the way he likes to sing. Kiss kiss!!
I think my big problem is confidence. I have had my voice put down so much when I sing with my favorites that now I am terrified at the thought my neighbors will hear me practicing and put me down. Ken, or any of you out there, how do I get over those put downs and try.
A couple questions regarding the information here, as well as in you Heal from Home course. I lost my voice about a month ago after a cold. I've mostly recovered, but I'm still experiencing a few issues, including: - Light hissing sound when singing, especially in head voice. - I can sing a note softly in head voice on a closed vowel, but when I shift into an open vowel, or try for more cord closure for a wider mixed voice sound, my voice won't allow it. This region of the voice in particular used to feel pretty flexible and versatile, but now it just feels stiff and dry. Is it common for issues in this region of the voice to persist the longest? Is this something your Heal from Home helps to remedy specifically? I'll certainly be looking into your course, and any advice or tips you can offer in the meantime would be much appreciated.
Going back over your videos and stumbled on this one again and have to say that back in February I had a bout of laryngitis that kind of came out of nowhere. Didn't know if it was allergies (that I almost never have) or a low grade flu, but woke up a few days after rehearsal and no voice. At that point I didn't realize how much I was starting to enjoy singing until I couldn't and was freaked out about it. Anyway, I had been watching your videos and enjoying the improvements in my singing and saw this one. I immediately broke the piggy bank and ordered the Healing From Home videos and started in. After about three to four weeks range was coming back a few notes at a time and I was able to navigate most of the songs I would sing but had to watch it around the passaggio since that was the worst area. Now, four months later I'm getting great results especially in my belt register and am super pleased with the results. Still doing the drills and, having re-watched your vowel shaping stream session, I have renewed respect for the ah-oh-oooh type exercises (that I wasn't a big fan of until now.) Cannot recommend enough that course for anyone who has had a train wreck with their voice as mine has come back and is even a lot better than it was in some areas. Like the other post says it's cheap at several times the price because the ability to sing well again is worth it. Also did the collagen and will probably pick that up again since I'm an old geazer and it definitely helped. Loving your videos Ken and thank you so much.
I've had a bad laryngitis a month ago due to infection (my dad passed it to me). Never had such a thing. I lost my voice completely for two days and had to talk to my mum with Google translate. I then started speaking again but the voice was so hoarse and rusty. I was FULL of mucus and have been for three weeks. Thick, green, disgusting and never-ending stuff all coming from my throat. After the soar throat, bronchitis joined the club and I couldn't even sleep because of the coughing. After two weeks I could sing again but things that were effortless to me before, now were incredibly hard and I could only sing for 10 minutes. Now a month has gone by and luckily I have gained back complete control of my chest voice but when it comes to the head voice... ugh. I can't hit the high notes of the volume 3 exercises anymore, they come out almost completely airy and after that my throat starts itching and I have to stop. So frustrating. Before this I could easily hit those notes, practice ktva for 3 hours and then proceed to sing other stuff without ever feeling tired. I'll try to rest some more without pushing and wait... it's so hard though.
Hi Ken, I've been watching your videos and started my UA-cam channel with some covers. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, all your tips really help ! Cheers from London 💕😊
Hey Ken thanks for these Videos! I feel these exercises working! I did however “loose” most of my falsetto/reinforced falsetto and I don’t want to push in my mix to hit the top notes of my range ( around F#5- C6 or so ) ! Would it be beneficial to do all of these exercises in my falsetto to get it back to being healthy and strong or should I do something else! Thanks 🙏🏼
I have summer holidays right now and legally can't contact my vocal coach when in holidays because im under 16 (something about the German law idk), I tried a new vocal routine yesterday and I did tons of exercises going down and up my range and also pushing myself beyond it. But it just feels bad now so I probably overppushed myself I just dont understand how your voice is physically improve itself if you dont push it yk so I gotta ask my teacher that once the holidays end!
I had a endoscopy almsot a year ago before having my gallbladder removed. Ever since then i haven't been able to hit any type of rougher/growl notes without it hurting my throat. I've never had any formal vocal training but have always felt I'm a decent singer. Any recommendations?

Ken, I have run into an issue. My voice has been excellent up until I recently had some sort of illness. It felt like the flu for about 24 hours. The aftermath was an extremely hoarse voice.. As the hoarseness began to get better, I noticed I'm not able to sing falsetto or really anything above the lower registers. It really has me worried. My throat does feel irritated and sore, but it has been almost a month with little improvement. Any suggestions?
@Biggerbyte Please take a look at my voice repair program, see if it might be a good fit for you. kentamplinvocalacademy.com/voice-repair/
Just wanna thank you Ken. Ive been following this routine for a year now and it really helped
And it increased my vocal range 🙏
i love the relaxed feeling of this video especially, one of my favourites!!
Thanks for your comment, Titti!
Amazing it really works. Thank you so so so much. God bless you
Love from Paris 🥰🙌🏾
hi there, i was a young shy lass but my singing teacher pulled me up and offered me a place in her choir then i found i just came alive but never solo, only while alone id ever actually sing, then i went silent, music wise, until i was with my own children, i began to yodel and explore my own range, then i had a breakdown and id screamed myself almost mute, a week later id argued and roared in rage while still almost silently horse, at this point i felt an actual agony in my throat deep, then i took a year to speak without constantly having to cough a little to clear my voice after 5 or so words, i am a very verbal chatty person and had smoked for years, roll on 5 years, i was happier than ever, healthy etc but, when i wanted to sing it was just emotionally difficult as well because id taken my voice for granted and neglected it, now i am blessed with 3 musical and beautiful voiced kids and have no range at all, i didnt even know there could be any hope until recently with my daughter using tiktok and youtube, so here i am, i still actually try to sing and everyone is used to my lack of range especially with power ballads lol,
now i have no self consiousness or embarrassment id loved to do small local stage plays with local kids, ill keep going but any extra advice and opinion would be very encouraging, thankyou very much B

Again, much appreciated!!
Thank you for making it and for your suggestions on supplements to help moisten the vocal chords. xoxoxo

Like this comment if your a "rushing rehabilitator" like me; you've done this before and want timestamps to the vocalizations (and instructions where necessary) only.
Thanks for this resource, Ken!
I bought your program on how to heal the voice and it was very effective and helped me so much Ken! I send everyone I know to your program for singing that needs help! 👍😊👏
Excellent, useful information that every singer can use! Thank you.
Thanks, Bob!
You're always awesome! Keep rocking my friend!
You rock, Spear!
This is awesome! I am recovering from the flu and have no voice currently but I'm supposed to sing next week 😬 thank you so much for this! I'm going to have to check out your full course later because I deal with a chronic cough and phlegm and would love to work on my voice more in general.
I got the flu about 3 months ago and my voice hasnt been the same since. It is getting better but slowly. Its depressing
Thank Ken, that warmup helped for sure. I'm going to check out your course for vocal healing.
Hello sir
You are an incredibly talented person and so kind and helpful for students .🙏💕❤
Thanks!
Wow 🤩🙌🎉🙏 I did a 3 hour zoom presentation and was so horse 🐴 this was amazing thank you you rock
Especially on the bright “ee”
thanks it really helped my son
Thats amazing
Hey @Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy Thank you for the information and I'm looking forward to learning more from you, as I signed up for your singing course last night 👍
Thank you, DJ! Looking forward to hearing how you are doing with the course!
Ken,I lost my voice after Hawking Beer at Mile High Stadium in Denver. But the Ironic thing I sang in a music group with Terry Clark from Marantha.
I found you and I’m thankful 😊
Do these vocal exercises have to be done in chest voice in order to see results? Or can they be done in other vocal registers as well?
This was so awesome, Ken, and very helpful!!!
The Lip Trills are my top priority, the best way to wake up the voice… True Fact Here!!!!
Rock On!!!
Thank you Ken .my brother ....needed to see this
Just getting over a chesty cough , did notice a reduction in brightness lately so need to do more of those exercises awesome advice Ken!!
Great information Ken thanks buddy
Awesome video! Best advice I've got for healing my voice! I also found that pineapple juice has bromelain in it which is really good for the voice too. These tips were amazing
Hey Ken! Hope Santa was good to you and your family. Looking forward to some Jon Anderson and YES in 2023!🎤🎤🎤😎
Same to you!
@@kentamplin 👍😎
Dang Ken, this is awesome. I didn't realize you had the separate course. After c19 2 years ago my doc theorized that I had vagus nerve damage effecting my vocal chords. My voice hasn't improved in 2 years but I haven't really done anything specific - and just kind of accepted this outcome I guess.
Edit: I should read your course emails more closely, I assumed it was the course I had already bought. That's on me!
Yes, I have a course that is targeted at teaching you exercises to help rehabilitate voices that are in need of some TLC.
@@kentamplin Ken I watched the video and I got a little misty, I was like
Dang I used to do these scales with Ken in the car on the way to practice and church!! (The vocal warm up YT video in my favorites)
Thanks for the info, Ken!!
Love this! I greatly appreciate vids like this cuz I've had/done so much damage to my voice! Willfully dense on that I guess, but not anymore! Thanks, Sir Ken! Rock on my friend!👍🤟😎🔥💕💜🌍
Glad it was helpfu, Sarah!
That’s really great! It certainly helped me! Thank you!!
Great video!! My singing voice is trashed after watching the euro 24 final 😢
Perfect timing Sir Ken, thanks as always 👍💚💚💚
Thank you Ken so much!

Been keeping up with you, your videos and your lessons very well done here keep it up Rock On! Once u bought up the E vowel I was like "Wow I remember when Gary Catona taught me the vowels for this exact thing!" Brought back some amazing lessons and happy I and others have you to help us with our beautiful instruments of ours. Much love Stay safe. 😁👍💙
Thank you, JD & AJ!
Thank you Ken
You are very welcome, Tyler!
Play vocal cords are so fried I can hardly even do any of this exercise, although I just surprised myself when doing voice to text put the fact that I can actually understand myself as I speak
Hi Ken, enjoying watching and learning from your videos . Just wondering if you have plans to post anything related to the effect of alcohol/ smoking as a singer ? cheers
I have nothing specific planned right now.
Your music is amazing Ken. 🤘🏽
I appreciate you and the content you do. Thank you
My pleasure, SaltySK!
ive bought this program a few years ago and it helped me trumandously.
Kiss kiss!!
Thanks Vanessa! Thank you for the kind words.
@@kentamplin :) :) :)
All great advice, but I laughed when you did the lip drill.🙂
Thanks Ken
I needed you in 2000 after I got sick and realized I was struggling to hit Mariah Carry notes then😂... so serious
I think my big problem is confidence. I have had my voice put down so much when I sing with my favorites that now I am terrified at the thought my neighbors will hear me practicing and put me down.
Ken, or any of you out there, how do I get over those put downs and try.
I frikkin love this guy
A couple questions regarding the information here, as well as in you Heal from Home course.
I lost my voice about a month ago after a cold. I've mostly recovered, but I'm still experiencing a few issues, including:
- Light hissing sound when singing, especially in head voice.
Please write to: ktvahelp@gmail.com with your question.
I love analog.
Good video i put this one in my favorite's
Thank you coach i have to do this i have horse voice crach most time when i sing and lower key hard to hits high notes.
Same exact issue so frustrating good luck to you
That's a very good tutorial video:)
Thanks, Marko!
@@kentamplin you’re welcome🙂

Hi Ken, I've been watching your videos and started my UA-cam channel with some covers. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, all your tips really help ! Cheers from London 💕😊
Hey Ken thanks for these Videos! I feel these exercises working! I did however “loose” most of my falsetto/reinforced falsetto and I don’t want to push in my mix to hit the top notes of my range ( around F#5- C6 or so ) ! Would it be beneficial to do all of these exercises in my falsetto to get it back to being healthy and strong or should I do something else! Thanks 🙏🏼

Is there any suggested scientific best time of the day to have the vocal restoration vocalization?
thank you:)
Can you please describe what you mean by cut back the air ? Am I lifting the back of my tongue to my upper molars ? Am I holding my breath ?
I have summer holidays right now and legally can't contact my vocal coach when in holidays because im under 16 (something about the German law idk), I tried a new vocal routine yesterday and I did tons of exercises going down and up my range and also pushing myself beyond it. But it just feels bad now so I probably overppushed myself I just dont understand how your voice is physically improve itself if you dont push it yk so I gotta ask my teacher that once the holidays end!
Really helpful Ken ❤
Glad it was helpful Williams!
I had a endoscopy almsot a year ago before having my gallbladder removed. Ever since then i haven't been able to hit any type of rougher/growl notes without it hurting my throat. I've never had any formal vocal training but have always felt I'm a decent singer. Any recommendations?
It’s best to get professional advice from a doctor. Based on what they say, you may have some options to get back into singing well.
What's your views on meditation? I've noticed my voice sounds better after a meditation session
Meditation has a lot of slow deep breaths; there’s a good chance that when you sing after meditation, you’re using better breath control which results in your voice sounding better
