    That was fascinating, especially the damage sculpting! I hope to do something like this soon, but I only just finished my donut. Thanks for the voiceover, really helpful.

    I really love how that trick with the three different colored lights turns out, especially on metals. I'm going to straight up steal that from you. :)

    The thing on the forehead is clearly ancient Greek headphones. They put them on their forehead so that they could listen to music whilst retaining a cool mohawk.

    Love to watch your progress, the sculpts are getting very good! Just to optimize the working space: Alt + F11 for maximizing the screen, and just collapse that timeline while sculpting :)

    This one kinda kicked my butt, hard surface stuff is tough. You did marvelous on yours though, could definitely see this sitting in a museum display

    • @grabbitt
      @grabbitt  6 років тому

      yeah Hard surface is very tricky I still don't think i have the best workflow for it but i suppose it's all about practice.

    I dont know if you found this out but in the "3d print toolbox" addon there is "make manifold" button which fixes what you were talking about with mesh inside mesh. Zach reinhardt did a video about this (10 tips on sculpting was the title or something like that).

    So if you were going to put this in a game, would you model it the same way and decimate the polygons afterwards?

    • @grabbitt
      @grabbitt  4 роки тому +1

      yes retopo is important

    • @RobertMalachowski

    The reference image seems on right hand side but there is also another image in the middle- on which it is easy to draw, how do you set that image and draw over it?

    • @grabbitt
      @grabbitt  3 роки тому

      not sure exactly what you mean

    • @goldenera7090
      @goldenera7090 3 роки тому

      @@grabbitt right at the beginning you get an image of helmet and then draw on top of it. how do you get that image? is that by adding a reference image? but is it 3d image? in which case it would be easy to draw on it.

    how many tris are in it? I made also that kind of helmet like one month ago, but it wasn't not even nearly this good

    • @grabbitt
      @grabbitt  6 років тому +1

      thanks. I decimate till it's around 25000 tris.

  • @jas6062
    @jas6062 6 років тому

    Is it possible to make such good objects for a game, I mean this has around 250k tris(as u said in comments below) and it can't be used in games, but anyway is there a way?

    • @grabbitt
      @grabbitt  6 років тому

      yes. You create a much lower base model to bake to. I go into slightly more detail with another video about it on my channel.

    Where can I download texture brushes for sculpting? Found some online, but weren't much of use for my helmet. I suppose I can create them too, but I'm not familiar with the process :/
