I am proud of my husband for achieving this crazy accomplishment! Now, can we take the massive gas tank out of the trunk? Lol ❤❤❤
hahaha congrats to you guys
This comment is the best! Many of the male members of the fraternity of lunatics could not have accomplished their runs without the great support of our spouses. Now it’s your turn to make a run!
Hahha awesome wife
As a fellow Cannonballer I respectfully say, minimally not until you do a run too 😁
Also - the Cannonball hero that never gets the respect they deserve is the supporting family and friends. This is your victory too, thank you for supporting the latest member of our stupid little fraternity of lunatics ❤
Why, do you have an extra pram! LMFCO
Doing that time with no spotters, a command center, etc is impressive. Doing it solo under those conditions is crazy. This has to be one of the top runs of all time.
The drive sounds like a very typical BMW ownership experience to me - hand gestures, check engine lights and all!
Can confirm
LMFAO! 😂😂😂
...and still leaving all LS behind. With a diesel. Yepp, sounds right to me.
That’s why it was such a breeze for him. He didn’t even know he beat all the records 😂
I'm sure his indicator stalk has cobwebs too ;)
Congratulations on the safe run and the new records! A sub 30 hour post covid run was deemed impossible, until now. No more asterisk discussion needed.
A wild one to examine for sure!
@@EdBolian couldn't have done it without you, Jay, and everyone else who helped. Thanks a ton!
Amazing Jay.... And thanks for the great video @edbolian
safe?
I will confirm every detail of this interview. One of Chris` best friends! I tracked the run remotely via GPS and it was nuts just watching it. GO CHRIS!!
What's up! ... Yeah, I was the one looking up the CEL codes. And seeing if he was gonna just send it (I already knew his answer, he's always been a JUST SEND IT kinda guy)
"If he does, he dies"😅
I'm the bad influence with a 335D to convince him to get the 535D
@@Derkenblosh2 chris and i talked about this, we were initially unsure as this is a direct violation of our profession and general digital hygiene however validation was paramount so the guidance was to change the password and hand over the account. Clearly this was the right move as the publications and car communities around the world are going nuts and it's wild to monitor in real time and it being a friend heh.
@JeffreySingleton how does the police not get you after you advertise the record run ? In europe you would loose your license for sure
@@Chris-hw4mq I guess it's either "allegedly" and if it doesn't work you go full Shaggy with "wasn't me". Or, on a more serious note, probably sth like "Johny vs Oklahoma" from 1986, where the judge clearly stated that such a case can't be prosecuted because reasons.
@Chris-hw4mq Statute of limitations, a lot of these stories come out 1 year after the attempt which is the max statutue of limitations in all the states for traffic offenses.
That's my Dad! He is the best driver I know. Can't wait for a Father/Son race
You and your Dad are NOT doing a cannonball race together!
@@munit0000 Relax Mom... Dad needs a copilot. Kid will do well to have the experience.
😂😂😂😂
Awesomeness bro 🤘🏽😎🤘🏽
your dad is awesome
Congratulations to Chris on an impressive and safe run. Solo is nuts!
The fact that you congratulate and approve of such terrible and selfish behavior says a lot about your character. Giving these morons a forum and encouraging them makes you culpable for when they kill someone. Imagine a minivan full of a family on their way to a soccer game crashed into and killed by some fat loser who thinks he can drive. Now imagine that's YOUR family. Is it worth it for some made up record that is meaningless and so outdated? The world was different 50 years ago and cannonball had it's place but those days are long gone.
reflect on whether you want to be associated with such abhorrent behavior, is it who you want to be?
"Safe." - doing 151 on public highways. Ok pal.
Happy to hear the Cannonball safety record is intact and we have a new member in our crazy Cannonball family. Congratulations on an impressive run!
The best part is that wife, son, and driver all showed up here in the comments. The family that drives together.. dammit I can’t think of a rhyme but anyway!
.. thrives together?
27 hours, 2700 Miles, 0 use of the indicators.
And check engine light the whole time
Very speedy, very anxiety, very BMW
Indicators were removed for aerodynamics 😂
My car only came with turn signals, wish I would have paid more for the indicators
Even removed the blinker fluid to save weight.
It's been a chaotic month of gathering, validating, cross referencing, and checking everything with this run.
Absolutely incredible achievement and fantastic drive done here. Congratulations
Thank you for all the help going through the data
@@EdBoliancouldn't have done it without you, Jay, and everyone who helped. Thank you!
Did the missing windshield moulding fly off on the trip? I was waiting for that to make an appearance or maybe I missed it. 2015 520d xDrive Touring owner here, soon to hit 400000 km if nothing catastrophic happens. My ass and the driver seat are now press fit pieces.
Heck yeah a BMW diesel!!!! I have Dailey driven my tuned 335d for 6 years and love it
That is absolutely nuts!
Thank you! I'm proud of the accomplishment.
Saying the check engine light came on in a BMW is like saying waters wet or fires hot
bro raw dogged the whole trip
Dude did the canonball solo... No passengers and no spotters on the route....
That takes humongous balls.
I believe without the police stop you could have beat 27 hours. At least no ticket. A great run and diesel record. Congratulations for a safe run!
11:15
The fact that he took a pic while crossing the Chain of Rocks Bridge is proof enough that he's got balls of steel, never mind the Cannonball record
From someone who took 35 hours in a turbo miata for the same run kudos. Great respect
Slowest most reasonable BMW driver in 2024:
Most exciting and engaging BMW owner
New diesel record, new solo record. Love it.
A hell of a run, congratulations sir!!! I cant imagine doing this solo
Congratulations on a safe and record breaking run! I've often pondered what a run could look like with minimal countermeasures and outside input to make you slow you down and now I've got my answer!. Love the car choice, was considering a 535 Wagon at one point. Incredible MPG for the speeds achieved, very remarkable.
BMW, check engine lights... expected.
Been driving BMW for 28 year now and never had one. EVER
@damirbajic4579 oh you're one of the lucky ones where it catches fire before the lights come on.
@aussieexpat Tell me you never had BMW without telling me you never had BMW. Work smart, and maybe you will be able to afford one. Stay 💪!
@damirbajic4579 ive wrenched on my family's once regretful BMW purchase. Never again.
@aussieexpat Sure. When you buy lemon car somebody neglected, you get to work on it. You only buy luxury cars new or from somebody you know that took great care of it. People want to flex so they scrape money to get cheap BMW, Mercedes and than wonder why it doesn't work. Fact you and not BMW shop worked on it says it all. It is not a car you dabble in. You have to be trained by BMW to work on it. I take my car to BMW AD every 10 k miles and have 0 problems with it.
There is a tight knit scofflaw community, and to see a virtually unknown person come on the scene shows there is just more of us. Maybe you can join us for a future event!
"we do not condone cannonball records"
" so vinwiki inspired me to do cannonball "
It fills my heart to know that there are other individuals out there that like people but doesn't necessarily want to spend 25 hours with them in a Bimmer. This guy is my spirit animal
The solo runs for me are the real deal. Any crew can achieeve incredible time with proper preperation. Changing drivers, everyone's assigned a task, the lack of starship gear on the dash diesn't ring the alarm bells with the cops. But kudos to the guy for that one genius idea - doing it with a BMW. Everyone on the road just assumes it's another average BMW driver and no one bats an eye.
This guy is the everyday fan. Run a couple events, practice a little in the desert and bam - set an amazing time and secure your place in history. Congrats. I have thought one of the powerful diesels like this car or a W211 e320 CDI would be an excellent platform for this event. Bravo.
That is the Oklahoma highway patrol procedure, you sit in the passenger seat of the patrol car while they write your ticket or warning. I even had to leave my pocket knife (he saw the pocket clip) on the windshield wiper blade before I got in.
I doubt they always do. They do that if they're suspicious of you, like if you may have cash they can seize or are a drug trafficker. That's why the officer asked him so many questions about where he was going and that kind of thing,
they do it so they can get you to admit to crime on 4k video
Standard procedure on the other side of the pond. Have a mate who got into some bother when he got pulled over and got out of the car in the US! Took a bit of explaining on his end and he’s glad he didn’t end up with a couple of 9mm holes he didn’t have before.
@@privacyplease64 nope. They always do it. One of my earliest memories of police, freaking out in the back seat of my mom's car because I thought they were arresting her.
Me: With a BMW?
Chris: "Engine light on the entire time"
Me: Oh, that makes sense.
Those people who block the passing lane are the worst people I’m convinced. It’s illegal in almost every state to block the left lane, so it can’t be that they are trying to force you to obey the law. They really have no clue why you are speeding, you could be trying to rush someone to the hospital, they don’t care. If you want to enforce the speed limit, go join the police or Hwy patrol. If you’re just mad because you’ve been programmed to obey, or you’re so small that you think your opinion needs to be forced on others, or you think you’re making the world safer, you are wrong like two boys making out in front of their grandmother in church. Just stay out of the left lane unless passing quickly and immediately getting back over.
It's also illegal to go 150mph... You can't be doing something illegal essentially for 27 hrs straight then take the high ground when someone else does something illegal.
You aren't the right or wrong police.
Some motorist decides you don't need to be going 120 in a 65 zone and blocks you... In the eyes of the actual law, what you're doing is exponentially more illegal than what they're doing.
They would get a small ticket , if that.
120 in a 65 and you're losing your license, paying huge fines, and doing jail time in some states
@@robertstahl8835 so were playing the IF’s and But’s game ok. So if you’re driving along doing 66 in the left lane and it’s a 65 or you’re doing 64 in the left lane aka the passing lane, and there’s an accident up ahead. Now you and every other the laws I break are better than yours is blocking the emergency services vehicles from getting to the accident. All because you feel you deserve to do whatever you want and block the passing lane. Now instead if you use the passing lane as it’s intended, pass quickly and get back over to the traveling lane aka the right lane, then nobody has an issue and speeders can get tickets, cops and EMS can do their jobs and there’s one less I know better than you person on the road. Forcing a speeder to weave in and out of traffic is more dangerous than speeding itself. The whole point is you have no idea why someone is in a hurry so just gtf out of the way and mind your business. You can’t break the law also and say well it’s not as bad as this or that law. Just be a decent person and get out of the left lane unless you’re actively passing. It might be your loved one someone is speeding to get them to the hospital, or your house on fire, the off duty or volunteer firefighters are trying to save, or the doctor trying to get to wherever to help. Fact is you don’t know and blocking the PASSING LANE just feeds your little ego and doesn’t help anyone.
@@robertstahl8835 ^^this guy sucks^^ definitely rides the left lane going under the speed limit
@@robertstahl8835 Lmao and then people like you wonder why you get cut off while on your stupid power trip
@@robertstahl8835 Doesn't matter, get out of the left lane unless you're passing.
"That was one of the weirdest stops I've ever experienced, and I get pulled over a lot" 😅
Congratulations Chris, that was an impressive run. Sharp looking Beemer as well, I love the diesels.
He must’ve been basically 135 plus any time he wasn’t caught up in traffic. That is absolutely insane to do solo without spotters or a passenger with binoculars.
It took me over 40 hours to drive from NYC to LA on my Solo run, for him to do this Solo in the time is absolutely incredible. And, he did it safely. Hats off to this man!
The f10 is a mile destroyer the suspension is tuned perfectly for highway driving especially at high speeds probably the best choice for this
The new smart traffic lights that do that where they turn green when there's no one else on the road or whatever and so as you get close to it just as you slow down it turns green for you and even flashing yellow turn arrows and stuff, whenever you get close or if there's no traffic on oncoming they'll actually turn green for you. This such an awesome time driving on roads with cities that have smart traffic lights
I'm a simple man, I see Cannonball story, I watch.
A 27 hour solo is crazy!!
Gotta love a good disclaimer at the beginning of and during a video!!! 😂😂
Glad this record now belongs to a BMW, great work by Chris, solo run is actually insane!
Big time congratulations! Have a great week.
Making the BMW Diesel community proud brother! NABDOG!
Congrats brother! Couldn’t be more proud! 🎉🎉
Congratulations!! Ever been on the Autobahn? You basically describe a german commute to work.
You sir…are a madman! Congratulations on this record. It’s good to see what a person can accomplish when they set their minds on a goal. Drive safe my friend.
That was always going to be the best car to do it in. F10 535dX gave me a east-west cross-europe record I don't think I'll ever beat again. Congrats on a successful run!
Is this your personal record or you are telling me that we have an European version of Cannonball?
@@atanastimev7431can’t do no cannonball runs in Europe, the the border checks take hours
the american f10 535d is really a rebadged european 530d with the single turbo engine, still very good tho
EURO 535d touring will allow for a bigger tank, thus increasing range
@@vmr6666 Figured as much, the single sided exhaust was a hint.
A cross country "rally" is a definite bucket list item.
So hop in a car and go!
Incredible demonstration of focus and commitment.
Bravo on a safe run.

Great drive . Keep ot up you are an inspiration for future drivers!!!!! Thank you!!!
I was always screaming how a BMW diesel was NOT the car for a Cannonball - I was wrong.
BMW Diesel Power!! Impressive Record, lets see who is next to beat it.
That's a baller time in any era. Congratulations!
535d is solid car. I got a 335d myself and these diesel BMWs are special
All the phone zombies and road ragers out on the road make the safety record more impressive than ever.
A massive win for us F10 N57 brothers!!

Which laser jammer he mentioned he used? Cant google it, gives me a camera instead.
Escort max 360 ci
Love that it was the same year as my F10 BMW! Let’s go Chris!
0:58 i was confused with you showing this disclaimer, i was thinking that was for THIS run. by the end i went back and realized it was a supporting screenshot from the rental mustang video.
They really pooped on that run!
1:58 insta360 radar jammer? Did he misspeak? Not sure what he means. Don't insta360 just make 360 cameras?
I did misspeak. It was an escort max 360 ci
@@christopherstowell5690 thanks! I was wondering if my camera had some cool features I completely missed lol
What do you think is the perfect Cannonball car?
New e63s
06’ BMW 530xi wagon in silver with about 155,000 miles on it.
currently? a built taurus sho would do well, or maybe a modded hellcat charger if decked out just right, though that's alot of stress on that blower for that time. 2 man team with a fuel tank in the back seat (an ex cop car as a base with a cage turned into a firewall would be a nice touch) and one in the trunk
Countach - style first
A rental. Zero prep work and turn it in when done. Bald tires and fried oil included.
"Cannonball has always been a passion of mine since I started watching VinWiki." LMAO I fucking can't. Why word it like that?
A fairly normal car and homie did it SOLO. This is an incredible achievement. If there's room fore a bigger fuel tank and getting a partner, they'd probably set a darn near untouchable time.
Good luck finding anyone with equal balls.
Crazy to still set the record with everything that was going wrong
This dude is my kinda guy.no BS no extra shit.
Congratulations Sir.🎉
How long y'all think till we see Doug and Arne drop a sub 27 in their usual quick response fashion
We’ll see. Maybe soon, but who knows?

All the people talking bad about the bmw diesel definitely drive rusted out corollas.
So cool to see this record set in an F10 535!
Great job Chris
Would like to hear the mods done to the car
Other than a tune, and ABC deletes. It's all stock with Michelin PS5s
I'm from Oklahoma and I've never been asked to sit in a cops car for a traffic stop. I think someone was messing with you.
Not sure about Ok. But I've seen it elsewhere. IMO its a trap to smell the person for potential substance use.
@@wydopnthrtl
Agree. It gets the person out of their car so they can be observed standing/walking, and smelled when talking from a close distance.
Also from Oklahoma. It’s happened to me 3 or 4 times over the years.
Congratulations & welcome to the cannonball club!
Dude is a G. Solo, non-covid, and sub 30hr is amazing
I went coast to coast, west to east, with a load of cars commercially, solo in 46.5 hrs. I was rather proud of that. I passed one set of team drivers from Kennesaw Transportation 3 times, I'm sure headed for Atlanta. Last time I passed them was in Birmingham. I'm confident I could of cut at least 5 hrs out of that, but those weight stations and running 3 log books take a lil time to sort out. I was also in a dually with a 4 car hauler and required entirely too many fuel stops. (which oddly makes running 3 log books more believable, as longs as your fuel purchases only have dates and no time stamps.)
Still 27 hrs solo is a dam good time.
Congratulations! Wery wise choice of the wehicle and respectable result!
You’re the first one I’ve ever heard talk about the groups of vehicles. It’s like every 15 minutes you run into a group all driving together. It’s like no one wants to drive alone, weird.
This is huge! The BMW community is extremely happy.
Whoa, this was wild! Keep going!
I have a 335d and think it’s an incredible engine. Would love to try a 540d some day.
if you are in north america the f10 535d and the g30 540d are rebadged versions of the european 530d, in other words instead of having the twin turbo setup of the e90 335d they only have a single one
Awesome to see a bmw with only a couple modifications broke the record . The previous audi record shouldn’t even count . The driver seems very experienced, congratulations for your determination !!!
Every real car enthusiasts bucket list achievement and solo to boot! Congratulations dude! As Always, May God Bless you and yours! 😇
Congrats.
It’s a huge accomplishment.
Love the fact that it was with a BMW d.
Psssstttt... When approaching a stale red light at night time (and no oncoming traffic), slow down & FLASH YOUR HIGHBEAMS QUICKLY & ERRATICALLY from a distance.
Unless the traffic sensor is in the ground, it will likely change. 😉
yes for safety vehicles
BMW's don't get check engine lights. Check engine lights get BMW's
Impressive time, especially solo with no spotters
What? The Mustang story was fabricated? I am sad!
Absolutely only happened in ashmores head
I wonder if it's the same mustang I just so happened to run into at in Laguna NM. It was white & said blue lives matter. This was... 5 years ago? I tripped out because he had 50 gallons & I said what's wrong with your mustang. He had a trophy in his car & explained.
@isaacchavez1425 that was actually a different mustang, but the same driver! He actually drove that one across the country , it was a later silver gt he faked a run in, and basically became shunned by the whole community
This guy did every car enthusiast proud, but didn't do much for bmw driver stereotypes 😂
Hi
But lets be real.. Reputation pretty much cant go any lower, so no harm was done. 😊
@@tomaspuodziukynas5361 he also didn't run anyone off the road so I guess I stand corrected 😂
Those 35d BMW's are beasts, i used to have a 2013 335d x drive individual m sport (which you dont get over in the states sadly) that car was a rocket
possibly the most remapped car of all time lol
Yeah the 535d in the states is our 530d so the single turbo one.
Outside of Covid he is the official record holder then. A Diesel BMW destroyed all records.
I remember watching the mustang video, why was that fake? Is there a video of someone explaining why???
Supreme effort. Well done sir
Congratulations, Chris! Excellent run.
They need to start modifying cars for drag reduction. Huge gains to be had in top speed and especially on fuel economy. Would love to see a purpose-built car with an extra long final drive and aero ehancements
