      I feel like there's no way that could have happened without the trigger somehow having been actuated. Like I'm pretty sure most reputable handgun manufacturers have stringent requirements and testing around drop testing safety and negligent dusrcharges resulting there from. Correct me if im wrong but I think sig was recently raked over the proverbialy coals and publicly flogged for having a small problem around inadequate drop testing negligent discharge incidents on the p320 when it was first released not too long ago before they issued a recall and implemented an engineering/ manufacturing fix?

    7:10 I know about this accident. The car also ran through a bunch of tables at an outdoor Italian restaurant just before the fruit cart. The attendant working the stand was confused and unsure should he jump left or jump right. He waited until the very last second and did a perfect tumble into the street barely escaping certain death but perfectly in frame. I saw it in the theater.

    I run a collision shop. I had a lady come in with an insurance claim for hitting a body on the road. Deer hits are common in Ohio, so I walked out and talked to this sweet old lady who DROVE this car in. I said, "Oh, it looks like you hit a deer?" She said no, a person. "Wait, what?" "I hit a person. She was laying on the highway at night."
    Naturally I was shocked. We had to keep the car, and it was still dripping............
    Long story short, the police just let her go from the scene. It ended up being a homicide case because the girl that got hit was drugged and left on the side of the highway. I talked to an officer a long time later and he was blown away because that car should have been used for evidence. The insurance actually tried to make us fix the car, and we naturally refused. After a battle, it was totalled.
    My tech looked under the car and was shocked. He said that he could tell it was a white lady with brown hair. This was before the news released who she was.

      I am a former police officer, I attended Army Basic Training/Infantry school at Ft Benning, I later switched my MOS to MP until I got out of the Army NG. I ended my military service with the US Navy as a TLAM tech, those don’t accidentally discharge and won’t fit in a track suit pocket.
      I wouldn’t consider myself an expert but I’m definitely extremely confident in the subject and have actually been involved in a few negligent discharge investigations as a police officer.

    There’s absolutely no way a firearm should discharge in your pocket unless you’re an idiot and have other crap inside their that can get in between the trigger and trigger guard.
    Just another reason why I like safety’s. The triggers the only safety needed but a backup can’t hurt especially when you’re appendix carrying 😂

      @@somenygaard well I think he wasn’t even carrying in his pocket because if it was he would of had to fire through his thigh to hit his dick. I assume he was appendix carrying or something.
      Even without a holster especially in track suit that’s lose fitting it would be hard to pull a trigger and the force of acceleration would be pulling weight back away from something in one’s pocket and a trigger engagement. The entire story makes absolutely no sense in reality.

    Oh the stories I could tell. Like the time a person not to be named (actually isn’t me) had a brand new luxury SUV and had recently drunkenly dukes of hazarded it over a traffic circle into a field. Couple months later he had hit a power pole guide wire. He was afraid his insurance would drop him or not cover it so a search party was dispatched to find a road killed deer. The dead dear was hoisted up a tree by a rope and the truck was driven into it to mimic a deer strike for the insurance.

    @9:55 Long time viewer, since the first couple of months of the channel, who also happens to be trans. I'll be honest. That hurt. I was worried as soon as I realised where that story was going, but I was with you for most of that story, even the "identifies as an SLR" joke, I thought "that could be taken badly, but I'm going to be magnanimous and keep an open mind here, it's not like I've never been accidentally insensitive before either", I genuinely chuckled at the story, and I was considering sending it to a few friends, until that ending line. That hurt. If someone is a trans woman, that doesn't mean they are "a man identifying as a woman". I really don't even care if someone says "woman who used to be a man" or "used to present like a man". But "man who identifies as a woman" is just hurtful. There's a great trans car community out there who would love to be made to feel welcome.

    • @username_mcusernameface
      @username_mcusernameface 7 місяців тому +3

      I didn't do this because it's easy or fun, I did it to be authentic to myself. I know I'm a nobody in the car world, just a trans person who likes cars, but there is a trans car community, and it's an amazing place that has some incredible creativity and passion. The story could have been *appreciated* by the community, but that joke ruins it. There's a lot difference between the two of us, but I see you talk about the cannonball community - I don't even know how much of an overlap there is exactly, but I know it's there. Also sad that probably none of my stories are channel-worthy but aspiring to one day have one that is, and to share it, if I had a space to... I know you occasionally talk about religion, and I'm not religious so it would be hypocritical to quote the bible at you, but if you link the two, does that not mean love for everyone with a shared passion for cars? Also sad that probably none of my stories are channel-worthy but aspiring to one day have one that is, and to share it, if I had a space to.
