I think the Horde without the Forsaken would have continued looking for allies in Kalimdor. Do you think the Night Elves would have joined Thrall's Horde due to both cultures revering the spirits or some other common ground?

@@Doronsmovies, you should cover that part of the timeline in another video. Maybe the Horde would be at war with the Night Elves or maybe Thrall could at least make peace between them and admonish Grom's actions.

He could have gone for Mt Hyjal, and the lich would have been even more powerful than using the sunwell. The sunwell was made using a single vial from the original well of eternity, which had brought the legion to Azeroth to begin with. The second well of eternity used three, and thus was far more potent than the well in Quel'Thalas. And being able to secure that font would have been tremendous for the Scourge.

Additional points of information: Quel'Thalas wasn't just a powerful member of the Old Alliance that needed to be cleared away for the Burning Legion/Undead to conquer territory: the demons' master plan to conquer Azeroth was SO much more than physical domination, they needed spiritual/magical domination of the world more. The High Elves (along with their colony of Dalaran) represented the ultimate spiritual/magical defense of Azeroth, as they maintained the great barriers (those powered by the monolithic rune-stones and the Ban'dinoriel powered by the Sunwell itself) that not only defended Quel'Thalas physically, but also spiritually. The shields allowed the High Elves to perform and teach Arcane magic without attracting demons to Azeroth and empowering them enough to break through the veil and manifest in the world. It was in fact Mankind's foolish decision to ignore High Elven warnings about erecting similar shields which would lead to ultimate disaster (thinking instead that the creation of Guardians to hunt down demons drawn to the world by humanity's wanton use of magic would somehow be a better idea). In conclusion, by destroying Quel'Thalas the Scourge killed three birds with one stone: raising Kel'Thuzad which would lead to summoning Archimond, defeating a powerful enemy military, and destroying the source of the magical barriers that prevented the Burning Legion from entering the world. Let us all curse the name of Dar'Khan Drathir forever.

Well the elves did warn humans about the wanton use of magic destroying the fabric of reality but they didn't warn or teach them to erect barriers, the elves just told humans to stop using magic

    • @vulpesnicolas7246

Based on info from "Warcraft Chronicles": The High Elves taught 100 humans to the arcane arts as part of their cooperation with the humans against the Amani trolls during the troll wars. After the defeat of the Amani, the human Empire of Arathor ruled for awhile, until it fell apart, forming the human kingdoms. Dalaran was one of them, where a mage named Ardogan gained respect and popularity, becoming its leader. He began to draw mages to the city, who were shunned by the superstitious people, making Dalaran grow more bigger and powerful. While just a portion of the populance were mages, they were the key to Dalaran's prosperity, but the careless use of magic drew the attention of the demons. The wizards fought them off, while keeping quiet about it and turned to the Elves for advice. They told them what to do, but the mages ignored it, refusing to limit the usage of magic, fearing to lose their high position if they limited the usage of magic.
So they kept the truth under wraps and formed the Order of Tirisfal to secretly fight the demons. Then came the Guardians, the heavy responsibility and the growing corruption in the order, which lead to Aegwynn and we know the rest.

@4:20, also, Sylvanas explicitly spelling it out to Arthas to his face how to bypass the gates didn't help out either. And without Kel'Thuzad, the Dreadlords would need some other way to summon Archimonde and kick off the Legion's invasion in the first place.

Nor did waiting until the last minute to send for help from Silvermoon, or sending runners alone and unprotected. If she was wise, she would've sent a messenger on a dragonhawk to the city, as soon as the undead first appeared.

@@JStryker47 I read the novel about Sylvanas and the conquest of Quel'thalas. She displayed the most common and worst flaw of elves: Arrogance. When she was alerted of the Scourge advances, she set a ambush to Arthas and had the opportunity to strike him down with one silent surprise attack. But she felt it wouldn't leave her with much of a tale to tell to her children or boast about so instead of attacking, she loudly warned Arthas to not come any further (as if he would listen), confident to won the battle for sure. Thus making Arthas aware of her presence and when the assault started and she tried to kill him with a well placed arrow, he parred it because he knew from her voice where Sylvanas was and saw the arrow coming.

@@efaristi9737 Damn... she was even dumber than I thought! How she ever reached the rank of General, I'll never understand. In fact, I'm surprised she wasn't disgraced by the blood elves for her incompetence, in the aftermath.
That also reminds me of a scene from Sierra's Robin Hood game, Conquests of the Longbow; when the outlaws prepare to ambush a treasure caravan sent by Prince John to the abbey. Each of the men offers a different plan of attack, with Alan-a-Dale saying that there's no glory in an ambush, since he couldn't write a song about it. So his plan is to show themselves from the overlook, with horns blaring and drums beating, singing the praises of King Richard, and opening fire on the soldiers only if they refuse to surrender. (You still succeed if you choose that plan, but you lose a lot of men in the process.)

@@JStryker47 Well, apparently, she wasn't meant to, Alleria was supposed to become Ranger-General but she didn't wanted to, she wanted to explore the world and open Quel'thalas to the outside. Sylvanas being second in line, the mantel was given to her.
I suppose they didn't because what they remember, maybe what they want to remember, is that Sylvanas gave her life without hesitation to give her people(or some of them) the time to reach Silvermoon.

4:16 It's literally stated in lore that Arthas would have never gone through Quel'thalas defenses without the help of Darkhan the Traitor. So it's not that ridiculous. Silvermoon literally withstanded on its own the combined might of the Orcs and the Amani Trolls suported by a army of Red Dragons. If that doesn't show you how poweful the High Elves used to be, what could ?

that mainly depended on the titan constructs activity. while the intention was to loosen yogg-sarons restraints. Loken did not free him. Mainly because of the Observers last resort., were Loken to die. it would activate a beacon that would send a transmit of the observers designate and purge all life on azeroth. and restart the process.
while Lokens activity was in process of the old gods influence. Loken did not free Yogg-saron, nor did he have the intention to do so in the first place. twilights hammer attempted to breach the prison and free them but they couldn't because of the war between thorium and Arngrim, in addition to the defense mechanisms surrounding uldular that constantly prevented intruders from simply walking in.
