This is by far the most simplistic, yet intuitive, trolling motor setup! I’ve been checking around UA-cam for different mounting methods and this is the clear winner!! Thank you for sharing!
The easiest and simplest way ay I’ve seen a trolling motor mounted onto a yak. Thanks bro!
No problem man! I’ve seen some of the other videos out there. They’re all good but some do make it a little more complicated but it all works in the end! Simple and functional is the way to go!
P.S. before doing this! Check your areas laws on motorized water crafts. You may have to get it Registered depending on where you are in the world!
Dude thank you so much. I just got my first cheapo kayak and I wanna take it to the bigger lake I remember from childhood. However, I know my arms aren't gonna survive that. All the other tutorials are like "FAST JET KAYAK FISHING DIY BUILD!!!" and they're so inaccessible
Good job bro!! I just recieved my HOODOO TEMPEST HYBRID 120. I Purchased the 46 lb thrust, which is made by them. It drops in exactly, where my PDL fits. So I have both. But usually use the troller. And it's a short shaft weighs exactly 25lbs. And I'm only 5ft 7 " 152 lbs. Next year I'm going to add the good YAKGEAR Outriggers, and put a 2.5 Suzuki outboard, on the side mount transom. Stay safe bro 🤟🎣🙏
Sorry for the late response man! Been dealing with covid but the setup sounds niceee! I’m 5”7 about 150lbs too. The HOODOO definitely sounds like a lot of fun. I might have to upgrade soon aha
Thank you sir! I have a sundolphin Aruba as just as you do. I’ve been looking for a way to mount a motor to her and this is by far the most functional!!
Nize! That thing moves out pretty good. Inspiring.
I love the simple ones like this....great video bud
Genius!! Love this diy dude, thanks for sharing
Thanks for checking it out man! Hoping to do a little more with it unless upgrade before then
Yessir I see ya Dee with the pimped out ride you are definitely pushing wakes haha good job on the yak it looks like it getting serious speed🚀 aye I like the shirt too 🤙🏾
Yea man a lot more speed than the paddling I was doin last week 😂 I was actually able to make it to that spot you were trying to show me without dying lol
Reel Gang TV thanks on the shirt too have the design here! www.bowlsandpoles.com/collections/gear/products/bowls-and-poles-red-tail-long-sleeve-shirt
How cool good job champ once I get over my fear of drowning I make an attempt at this
Thanks man! You can always paddle in the shallows!! 👍 🌊

This goes hard nice rig 🌊🌊🌊💯👌
Thanks bro! It’s a lot of fun
Nice video you did a good job on that kayak 👍😊
Thanks!!🙌
Just found this channel NICE
Thanks!!! Glad to hear ya found it out of the million of other channels out there 😁🙌🙌
Awesome bro, don’t afraid 🤙🏾💯
What kind of bolts or screws did you use for the brackets ? I’m trying to do the same but am scared of putting holes in the kayak and not doing the right technique
Dee and real gang Tv linking up nice
Ya man you gotta get out there wit us!
Excellent Video!
Thanks mate!!
Dee we gotta get X-Man 88 out on the water he missing out
For real man he really missing out on the fun in the water 🌊
Sheeesh!!!!!
Are the outriggers necessary or is that just to help you in choppy water or help you to stand up?
Pretty sure that’s crystal river, know that area very well lol
What type of battery are you using ?can you talk about duration of the charge and weight ?
I’m not completely sure on the specs of the battery right now but will definitely update you on it when I get back to it! It’s a 12V battery and last me about 3 hours running at full capacity
How are the motor mounts holding up?
What Cain screw you used on the kayak
How do you move the motor on the top of the kayak to into the water?
hi how do you turn left or right?
How fast can go
Nice video. What battery do you recommend for this motor?
Check out the video that a guy made his kayak a mini boat with a trolling motor and steering wheel set up on youtube.
take your solar with you while you fish lol i know wont do much but its something lol.. whats the range you getting ?
Yea I definitely gotta give it a try next time! The battery usually last about 2 and a half hours at full speed. I’ve squeezed almost 4 hours out of it taking my time at lower speeds though.
@@deefishkeeper2019 nice thats more then enough for my use.. im thinking about getting one for summer here in socal California.
What size 12v AH are you using ?
keep it up
Thanks! 🙏
What trolling motor you use?
I use the 30 lb thrust motor guide motor!
can u give me a link for yellow side stabilizer?
I’ve got it added in the video description!!
Is it legal to put trolling on 10 ft of kayak?
Completely legal here in Florida as long as it’s registered!
How much did u pay for the motor
What brand and can i use it for saltwater
Minn Kota 30 Lb thrust! They’re work great in saltwater! The water In this video is salt. I’ve taken it out 10 or so times since and just rinse it off with fresh water when your done and it’ll be ready to go out the next day. The internals seem to hold pretty nice to the salt so far. Ended up dropping the motor in the water for a few seconds when dismounting the motor from the kayak and everything seems to be holding up pretty nicely
how long does the battery last?
In this video I had it out for about 4 hours and it still had juice but I’d think at full speed consistently more than likely about 2 - 2 1/2 hours sounds about right battery power wise
Dee Fish Keeper okay, thanks for replying!
Chris Kross no problem! Good luck with your build if your planning on setting one up!
Waww keren😍👍👍
Two L brackets, that’s it?! 🤪
Don't judge
And I’m sure he ran out and immediately registered the kayak as a motorized water craft after adding the motor.
Id reckon so unless he likes paying fines
