Had my 1003 previous model since 2018 used every weekend battery still going strong. There is a lock to stop it flipping up. You always put the big cable in first and take it out last.

You have confirmed 100% that I dont ever want electric motors on the water or land. A 5 horse Briggs and Stratton is all I need for a jon boat. A ford or chevy V8 is all I need for the road. A trolling motor is the only exception of course. I would never rely on that so its just fine.
