@@ud251 You must be fun
If I were 60 years younger, I'd be all over this setup. One thing I really liked was that front motor mount plate and need to find out how to get my hands on one of those. Excellent presentation!
.
This would be great for toting along the Indian River and dropping in to get past the mangroves and docks.
Looks like it could be perfect for "on the way home from work" quick stops.
I had a Bass Hound 10.2 that was awesome for fishing ponds lakes and rivers. Bought it from Sam's Club several years ago. It had 5 speed forward 3 speed reverse trolling motor. Lights, livewell, fishfinder, 2 seats, rod and drink holders and storage.
I love that it can work with those wheels! It's a wild little boat.
The Tiny Boat we've all been waiting for LOL
This looks amazing. Can’t wait to see how you kit it out.

Um ... what did you just puke onto my screen? - ffs... ENGLISH, please...
Very cool. If they ever become reasonably priced for what they are I might buy one.
Just get an aluminum boat with motor and trolling motor for $2000
I was thinking the same thing... Also, could probably mod an aluminum boat to make half of it a deck. The biggest appeal to me of a fishing kayak for a flat skiff is the ability to stand and fish with ease. @@freshandsaltyjohnny
@@donovang6911 my friends brother just got a 17 foot aluminum boat with new engine and new foot trolling motor startup with electronics and trailer cor $1000 just needs to redo the flooring and seating and call it a day. Can stand on it and everything all for $1000. This thing in this video is highly overpriced.
Exactly, it's not going to replace kayaks until they are priced like a kayak. But, they are cool looking.
Good luck! Have you actually priced what's available?
A 16 foot basic tracker is five grand, just for a hull.
I just bought a two high seater kayak with 2.5h motor. I wanted it for my husband and myself. He is tall and has to sit up high. Not enough storage. This little boat looks perfect for him. This will make a cool trip for the two of us.
Definitely try one out!
Buy evolution 552 camping cruser
I can’t believe he was able to get back in so easy with you standing on the deck .. definitely shows how stable that little thing is. Didn’t sway at all it seemed. Awesome
Definitely surprising......super stable!
This is basically the Diablo Amigo Yak on crack.
Him standing on the deck on the other side would've been a massive help in stabilizing it. Other than that, being able to grab further in when you lift yourself out of the water is also a huge help.
Down in the southern US, they had boats, called "Tatterchip boats!"
Sorta like this, with a wide stable hull, plenty of deck to walk on and space for 'stuff.' Not vary long, or very heavy.
But after seeing it once, on a fishing or outdoors TV show, I've never been able to find them again.
This is exactly what I've been looking for... great job guys!
Glad it helped!
8:14 most def mobility is what popped out to me . I wouldn’t bring two folks seeing as I’m a giant but for solo missions this is sick
It is a nice boat and you can see a lot went into making it. My old Bantum Bass tracker from the late 80's had a lot of great features. It had a rod locker, live well. Which I used for storage. I had a bow mounted trolling motor. Had a rear mount for a 5hp outboard. Drink holders a side well to hold other items and a place to mount my fish finder. It was about 9ft. long. I could fit in the back of a 6.5 pickup truck bed with the gate down is did not stick out much at all. Back then is was $500.00. I even had it on lake Champlain in upstate NY and the hudson river. Very stable boat for two people and it had fold down swivle bucket seats.
yeah baby, and they were rotomolded back then. New ones are two pieces glued together. That old bantam was the best, caught more bass out of that thing...
Great video! You covered all the areas I was interested in and did an excellent job, thank you!!
That 15hp pushing it good oh awesome
The niche this fills is a budget bass boat for a guy who wants a solo fishing boat that doesn't take up the garage. It's pretty nice. You'd save on storage vs a larger bass boat. Doesn't really replace a kayak for skinny waters--but its definitely a great option to have. I think it would be excellent for solo fishing on larger rivers.
I fish along an exposed stretch of Pacific coast. Launches and landings are through surf and I often fish close to wash rocks. I think I'll stick with a kayak.
I have to agree, I don't think this competes with kayaks. Mainly because for kayaks you have multiple propulsion systems like paddle, motor, and pedal drives. Also kayaks can be car topped. This however could go pound for pound agaist other boats that primarily use motors for propulsion.
i love this design, i can see some interesting options for this down the line. is there more details of the manufacturing of them?
Very cool boat and review. Thank you! What about creating a stabilizing ski for the side roller bars to help keep it more stable while running?
This makes sense for people who don’t have tow rigs for bass boats
As a older man I think I would like this more than a kayak. I’ve been looking at different kayaks, but I’m not sure how much I’m willing to spend vs usage. I think it’s great someone is filling the gap between kayak and skiff.
Just get a Coleman crawdad with couple seats. I got one and it’s super easy to load and unload. You don’t need a trailer if you have a truck it’s such a small boat and it will cost 5x cheaper than this boat.
I had a Nucanoe. Kind of a hybrid kayak thing. It was great. The only downside was the weight of moving it by myself. If I had a trailer for it it would of been no problem at all. Those things are super stable and plenty of room for one person. And seats like a bass boat. If you have not looked into the, check them out. But this thing in the video looks very nice.
@@mikepalmer2219 thanks
Yeah, an older man whose balance and mobility are probably not the best and probably can't climb back in on their own. Yep, perfect a casket on the water for your grandfather. I would never let a loved one fish from this, and you, however, may not like your in-laws or father. I cherish mine way too much to jeopardize their safety in a plastic toy!
@lokahi fo life u obviously from hawaii. Not sure if u still live here but this skiff would be next to useless for any ocean use. With its super flat bottom and shallow draft i bet even six inch wind waves would be coming over the rail.
It's a great idea for some people. There are places where you can't use a motor and where waters are 1 foot deep. You also have to be careful if there are weeds. I wouldn't say it's a kayak killer. It's just another type of boat to use for fishing.
We have a pair of Native Slayer 12.5 and they live on a trailer. It's all on what you want. Nothing is going to kill a fishing kayak.
Yeah, I'd still rather a pedal yak with my Torqeedo.
People will definitely get use out of that though, I agree.
You can always use 3 inch PVC pipe on both sides as potation devices are by pontoons around rivers
3500 for a rotomolded plastic boat? Nah, you're out of your mind.
Have you seen the kayaks? $3500 is about par for a nice fishing kayak. Hobie with foot drive get over $5k
@@mmancino1982 I'm not paying that either? There's plenty of ~$1000 kayaks that literally do the same thing, or, also for about 1k you could easily get into a new jon boat. There's plenty of skiffs out there again, for that 1k price tag.
Like, this thing would be competing with 3waters Big Fish 120. I dunno about you, but if I'm spending 3500+ I'm not spending it on an over glorified kayak. Hell, even the Big Fish 108 is what, $1700?
And this is the problem, its a super niche market already, and putting a premium product price tag on it, when its competing against so many amazing boats that are 1/3rd the cost... How about the Ascend 133? This thing isn't better enough to justify that price tag
That's not to shit on the thing, I think its a cool, but it really looks like they didn't look at the market data on what is actually going to sell? I'm sure there will be people who buy it, but if they wanted to target the largest market I'd venture a guess that the 1000-1700 range would have been a better area.
Hell, for the same price I could have THREE yaks. or even outfit a a fully loaded 14ft Jon and a yak, and then just choose whichever one I feel like bringing out.
@@Munky332 nice writeup. Don't really care. The kayaks you're talking about just aren't in the same league as the higher end kayaks. There's a reason you hear about Hobie and old town all the time and most people have never heard of a Big Fish. A Civic and a Corvette are both cars but you're not comparing them.
Sorry guys, it is not a yak killer. There will never really be a yak killer. When you can take your boat, lift it over your head, chuck it on top of your vehicle and be able to paddle it around, then you will have something to crow about.
The one thing it's missing is a comfortable chair like the big main kayaks brands
You can add a chair to the back
Yes I thought the same 👍🏼
That skiff is way better deal than most popular pedal kayaks like Hobie! I love it. Been using mine for everything. I haul it in back of truck. I use for bowfishing, diving/spearfishing, flats fishing, bass fishing. Boat has tons of storage. Love the self bailing hull. AutoBoat trolling motor has been awesome because I can easier add GPS motor now to any of my boats.
Hi. Interesting comments. When I was looking at the design, I thought its major drawback was it didn't have any deep floor space for anything large, such as a couple of scuba tanks or similar. Barely has room to put your feet when you sit. Where did you put big equipment?
12 by 42 John boat is 3 times the boat for half the price & twice the room, room for 2 & lots of gear, good for day or week .
Different boats !
@@stevec5576I’m on the
Chesapeake Bay so can’t have open bow in case I get splashed / swamped but you’re right for flat water
@@SethDunbar123
Are you in the lower Chesapeake bay by chance??? I am... and REALLY want to see one of these in person.
I just finished overhauling a free 5hp 2 stroke and got it running like new now. It needs a home and I need to explore all of this inshore/near shore salt, brackish, and fresh water that I am surrounded by.
I have a bass boat but my big fish 103 pedal kayak is so much fun ,sometimes i put the trolling motor on. you can get into alot of places a boat can't ,you can just drag it to were ever you dont need a trailer .no need for a boat ramp ,theres a lot of pluses but some times the bass boat or the pontoon is awesome to. Just depends what you want to do and were you live.
What a cool versatile little boat!
I have a Nucanoe Unlimited and it is very similar but remains a true kayak/canoe so you can truly take advantage of the skinny water draft.
A mud motor can be placed on either but they require alot of maintenance since they are air cooled. I prefer the Unlimited because you can paddle effectively when crossing expansive oyster flats or shoals.
Looking into one of these, I think they are pretty cool.
@TismFishing I recommend trying one out if you can. It works for me because I need a tandem set up to take my wife. Also we are both pretty small in size. I am about 150lbs and she is only 115lbs.
Also check out the autopilot 120 and other kayaks with trolling motor attachment points.
All in on it to get it fully GUCCI for effective fishing I'm probably $2500 all in and the kayak itself was $1800.
I car topped it for the past few years but recently got a trailer. If you have any shoulder or back issues then car topping is Def not good.
I love it though and have caught a lot of fish on it.
@@wouldntyouliketoknow8451 yeah I have a bigwater 132 now and it’s really good. Just want to be able to trim the seat and the possibility of going tandem or adding a small air cooled engine.
@TismFishing Sounds like a nucanoe could be a nice upgrade. One thing to note is that there isn't really any storage since it's all an open deck layout but they have gear management accessories. The base price is 1.8k but as you add on it Def turns into a 2.5k or even 3k kayak. Still better than a boat!
I run a trolling motor because I like fishing stealthy.
I came to watch a lite skiff ad and ended up watching a auto boat ad
You didn’t watch the whole video
You definitely have to put some poles on the back of that thing. Maybe upgrade the transom too. Can't wait to see what you gave in store for this thing 🔥
That's the plan!
The lengths you've gone to. That's one cool boat!
Pretty cool for a pound jumper, honest as a retired vet concerned with mid to older fisherman. I really would love to see someone come out with easy to install flip down light weight pontoons. That would be incredible for all small boats and stability.... stability main focus because tenitus (ringing of the ears) drastically effects balance. So some type of flip down rigers/pontoons would be a huge market. They don't even have to be flip down, maybe easier to make a scissor out pontoon kit. I'm already playing with the idea but don't have your resources or network to design a marketable product.
You should buy one and mock it up with your idea. It sounds as if you would have a market too.
Look for the single man boat one has the pontoons
Concerned with appearance? My farrier used a 2x4, two five gallon buckets with lids and some clamps. Carried it inside his canoe. Attached perpendicular to the axis of said boat, buckets on either side, he could stand up and fish with his two grand kids in it. He said it was as stable as a jon boat. Sorry, do not know the length of 2x4s, but under 12 ft for sure.
Build it and become rich bro 🤑
It's already been built, a split tail kayak whose tail sections scissor out to stabilize the boat for stand up fishing.
$3500.00 for that boat, no thanks, I'd rather get a used bass boat.
If portability is not a factor for how you fish, then a used bass boat totally makes sense.
When people make this argument I don't understand the point. My used kayak only cost me $75 dollars at a yard sale and it was originally 3 grand.
He even said this in the video then you comment exactly what he said 🤣
@@deadmanbasslord3156 I didn't stick around to watch the full video, I had some things to do, I can see why some people would want one, just my opinion.
@@Steve-ev6vxand? Correct, a used kayak will be cheaper than new, so will a used boat.
I liked the first couple with the rod storage, the padding aka ( TUFF Kits) on the whole surface of the skiff, pretty freaking awesome! Just something to putt around and fish off of. I think if it was just a foot wider on either side it might be a little more stable for two people. I definitely would of had a dry bag with floaters in it for my stuff tho! LOL :) Need to see some big guys get out there on this and see what kinda of fun they'd have. HEHE :) I'd think there would be an option to put some type of gaming chair in it low profile, comfy and adaptable to different heights, just something that you can throw on it before you go out to the lake or river and floats just in case it flips over or just stay's in place. I think i'd put a type of GPS finder on the remote so if you get thrown over or fall off for some reason, the boat stays with you until you get back on it and give it the command to go to your favorite fishing hole!
We are not going into the water ! I refuse… 😂 the mix of great information and humor make his channel a must to check out
Much appreciated
I notice it was tested on glass water lake no wind and no other boats on this lake. Good try I will keep my pedal kayaks. Thanks for the video
It can handle, moderate chop, nothing huge. There wasn’t good lighting when there was chop.
Thing is badass, cost as much as a high end kayak.
That boat looks pretty good to take my two dogs with me around the lake and just chill for the day.
Nice! Upgrading from the pelican 10ft boat
Man I'm not hoimg to lie this is pretty awesome. For what you get compared to high end pedal drives, this puppy is a ripper!
I freaking love your videos man. It gives us ”no boat”
Right on!
Thanks for posting this, I got rid of my fishing Kayak last year and now I'm in the market to replace it.
Glad I could help
That autoboat will be a big game changer for many kayakers!
This is going to put a hurtin on Solo Skiff!
I always hated those things.
$3500 is steep for a boat when there is a comparable sized kayak for less than $2500 that includes a “trolling” motor.
Which one? Only one I'm aware of that has a tm included is the Old Town autopilot which starts about $3k
@@mmancino1982
I'm looking at the Ascend 133x. It's 2500 comes with xi3 trolling with spot lock. Saltwater rated according to website
Yea, the price of this thing is absolutely over priced.
This boat is so sick and you’re already making it tons better 👍
You must not know because you called it a boat. Lol
It's about equal to a kids toy. I gave it to my 5 year daughter and she said her J16 is a real boat and this a toy boat for shallow ponds. She has a center console Carolina Skiff J16.
Anyone that owns one of these boats and thinks it's that great has never own a boat before. When you buy this and tell everyone it's an awesome boat, you are lying to yourself and trying to make people think you had a nice boat when you had something barely a little more than a raft.
@@FingerStink420 Damn lol not a fan okay. Got a video explaining everything?
I don't know why anyone would give you crap about the stuff you are doing. People have been modding boats for decades to meet their particular needs. You've got some mad skills. I've been messing with yaks for more than 10 years. Nothing on your scale, but all the old basic mods we made before commercial versions were available. You guys did sell me an autoboat on the pre order so I am really looking forward to that on my old Wilderness Ride.

You're welcome. ( and you're 100% right )
If you could mount collapsible side panels that slide out for more walking space and better stability for when you’re on the water then it’s worth.

The gift of getting bot scam on UA-cam???
This would be great for multiple day camping trips on a large lake or river trip or back bay trip because it has so much storage. My concern is paddling in really shallow water. Otherwise, i was really blown away. My first choice is the Ascend 133x because of storage capacity but this might be better. Also, what about mounting a removeable kayak seat on that back hatch for added comfort?
It would be great on a big lake until the wind picked and you were faced with 12"-18" waves.
Push pole in Shallow water
@@common-sense-is-deaddon't most people in small boats check the weather? I don't lake fish in 15mph winds.
@anothersomebody8195 What do you consider a small boat? I regularly fish big lakes in 15-20 mph winds in an 18' Lund.
@anothersomebody8195 Plus I'm not a fair weather fisherman, if they're biting I'm on the lake. The only weather that keeps me of a lake is lightning.

BADASSS best video on the lite skiff !!!! Love it!
Glad you liked it!!
Wow! Thanks for sharing. I believe I will purchase one of those.
Please do!
So the only thing that this boat can compare to is a nucanoe frontier 12 or the unlimited. If you can make a comparison. This boat is 3500. The nucanoe is 1600 to 1800. Weight for this boat is 300. Nucanoe is 650. All the same things can be put on both boats. Seems like nucanoe will come out on top. Just my opinion.
The NewCanoe frontier looks pretty basic. It's just another large kayak. The USCG rates boats differently than it does for kayaks. If you put them head to head on the water, the Frontier 12 would lose overwhelmingly.
As the owner of a NuCanoe Frontier 12 that I love, these are apples to oranges in comparison. The NuCanoe is amazing in its class as a big sit on top kayak. The Lite Skiff is a legit boat hull than can handle chop with a transom that can handle a real motor. The NuCanoe is maxed at 3hp and I definitely am not going out in rough water under full throttle.
I have owned numerous kayak and boats of all sizes over the years and my nucanoe unlimited has been my absolute favorite. Especially if you utilize their eps system. The unlimited just fits my needs overall vs. This only thing going for its more horsepower capable. No horse power its a floating Lifetime tool shed.
I’ll buy a kayak for 200$ …
$200 and with a seat.
I’ve been waiting for something like this for so long
One more test I'd like to see: One of my concern with kayaks is their tendency to turn turtle.
It's not bad enough that you get wet, BUT every dang thing you tucked away is now in the water and most of it sinks - fast. And we all know the gear we've collected is worth somewhere close to the boat we're riding.
The stowage on this Lite boat looks good but, please, do a Dump Test to see how good the stock boat is, Thanks
One person tent or bivy on deck, then it’s a yacht
In south Florida I castnet live baits fo the redfish and snook besides using lures. So in that where's the live well and having a live or bait well how would the added weight of the water affect it also possible locations otherwise great little boat !! I love the flat deck and reentering have to often leave the skiff to sneak up on Mr snook or stealthy fish the shallow grasses.
Wow I just found your channel That boat is badass Definitely open my eyes to some new opportunities
Cool idea. I love fishing in my kayak, but theres never enough room for everything.
I used to have a basstender. Similar to this , 11-4 long but had a wider beam and a tri hull. Unbeleivablely stable with 2 men. Had all of the stowage like this but with normal pedestal seats. To bad they don't make them anymore
Great review and nice little lake boat for two not drunk ....
14:49 this thing is perfect for what I need . Some don’t have storage for a full size bass boat for one and second reason . I don’t have to be sitting in a kayak . Would much rather use this than a kayak any day of the week
🔥🔥I think that boat is really badass👍
I approve of this message.
Looks like good small boat to invest.👍👍👍👍
I think so too!
Im definitely not or have ever been a Kayak person they turn over easy. Helped a man in a Kayak turn over from a wake of a careless boater that kept on going. I think this boat here would be you're advertising is very nice. I like pond jumping time to time where you can't launch a boat! This seems to bethe best option for a old dude like me that hates dragging a 10 ft aluminum boat to do so. Thanks for sharing. Guess that's a home built trailer.

Just be careful because clearly you need to watch it if you go that far
Get a mercury 9.9. You can buy an inexpensive conversion kit and get it up to 20 hp for less money than a 15hp!
@@edbradley6815 Is that for 2-stroke or 4-stroke? I know of a kit for the 4-stroke to turn it into 15hp. Which one are you talking about, and is getting it to 20hp reasonably doable?
great alternative to a kayak and wonderful boat for skinny water in the salt, but as a fly fisher i would like a casting brace or a sissy bar for some standing stability
That can be added! Where would you put it if you were going to put one?
How about the deck panels. How are they reinforced to avoid sag? Polyethylene plastic can soften or bend in heat (sun).
Killer flounder rig!!!!!!
Damn cool lil boat, thanks a ton for the vid!
Very informative video. I’d been looking at this boat online before. May I ask what camera you used for the 360 shots? Thanks.
I can't believe you made it back alive!
That looks like the scariest boat ride ever! I don't think I would take this out on any day over mph winds! Looks fun as hell though!
The trolling motor add on is very interesting
I like the strwngths hand portable
Wants: under deck rod storage as seen in your custom righing
Id like a “winged side board” where in the flat sided “wings fold out to add width similar to out riggers doubling width
I realize my ideas would add weight and probably be a complete redesign
It doesn't need Outriggers
if you put one of those jet ski motor retro kits on it, you could literally take it just about anywhere! if I'm not mistaken a jet ski kit will work in as little as 4 inches of water. between the bottom of the boat and the depth of the water. and if you beef up the hall a little with that spray on hardener stuff it will take a beating! it wouldn't take much to set this for your apocalyptic Journeys. especially if you had a crew and like five of them.
Definitely a cool little boat. It would be a great pond rig.
I love that disclaimer up front, lol. ETA: man my main issue with the way most of these are set up is I *HATE* tillers. I wish someone made a cable-steer motor mount for motors up to a certain safe weight/size. I had to hack together my own out of the midsection of a busted gas motor from a junkyard.

@@TinyBoatNation not for me, I don't even fish 😂 I use my Pond Prowler 8 as a tender for my pontoon.

This thing is sick I want one or two 😂
I love this boat, 3500 aint too bad, I dig it
Love this! Bang! Nailed it
I get your comment about portability. As well, many smaller bass creeks in the south can't be navigated with a used bass boat. But I get it, you'll never get Skeeter McWifebeater to come off his fantasy of a bassmaster trophy.
Lol that’s classic.
😅 Yeah a lot of guys tear up high end bass boats on my local lake just to lose to the toothless local with an aluminum v hull
Im 66 years old. Stability would still be a concern. Also, it would be great if they could somehow come up with a seat to fish from the front. Sun Dolphin had the Pro 120 a couple of years ago that was essentially a mini bass boat with live well and built in ice chest and storage compartments and had a forward and back casting platform with seats. It was considerably wider as well. The factory burnt down but they are making them again towards the end of this year.
a boat is a tool, just like a car. or hammer and pencil.
I was looking at it to use it more than just as a skiff for a bigger boat. pretty much anywhere you can take a canoe, this would fulfill that type of role but way more practical.
it appears that this is a lot easier to get in and out of when in the water versus a canoe. and if you've ever tried to climb back into a canoe after you jumped in the drink, you understand what I mean. especially if you're out there by yourself! it's almost impossible to get back into a canoe and will most likely swamp out, unless of course my stupid ass is doing something wrong in that regard.
i love the idea of that boat though the only negative i see is a lack of a seat (i'm sure one could modify one in onto it). right now i use a 13' flat back canoe with a trolling motor on the back. i have a bad back so i could really use a seat. the best kind of boat is one you can just toss in the bed of the truck and go.
at the end of the vid you were talking about lighting. i have a friend who just uses those solar charging yard lights on his little boat.
very unique!
so much fun , hello from Miami, FL
Looks nice for lakes 👍🏼 2:13
The only thing I can see is coming up with a better seat or seating option, something with a back. After a long day on the water you want something you can lean back in or something. A bracket or mounting system for a seat like you get in some kayaks, removable folding seat or something.
Look up stadium seats
@@TinyBoatNation That would be great 👍🏼. I was definitely thinking something like that would work, or something like my seat in my ascend kayak, could engineer a little track like system for the little peg like knobs that hold it in place
