You know what, I noticed this pattern too, Sesshomaru could have easily killed Inuyasha if that was his true intent but he never did. Instead, he seems to have always fallen short but that should never be if killing his younger brother was his true intention. He was teaching him and guiding him so that Inuyasha could truly become stronger and rise to any occasion that came his way. Sesshomaru was truly playing his part as an older brother and helping Inuyasha out in his own way while using trying to kill him as an excuse.

@@Inconstructionmaybe-x5v He could have killed Yasha throughout the story but never did. Through Rin you see he isn’t as bad as he wants people to think. Combine those two facts and there lies OP’s theory. (Not saying I agreee tho)

The fact sesshomaru looks like a straight chick in the manga is funny but I always saw him that way in the show helping his brother grow as a better demon not did he ever want to kill him but watch over him in a funny evil way 😂

You know, this theory makes sense. In most ways both brothers were as stubborn, strong, determined, straightforward, and pretty ill-tempered as their father, so it's obvious the both brothers would tolerate each other due to sharing their father's traits. If Sesshomaru truly is a villain of the series, he could've wiped the entire mankind, and if he truly want to kill his own little brother, he could've done it easily long time ago even long before the classic Inuyasha series happen, but he let Inuyasha and Izayoi lives so why's that? I'm pretty sure his role in the series is to guide Inuyasha to become stronger half-demon, and to keep pushing him to be the best at protecting himself and his connected ones at all times. On the other hand, Inuyasha (at the same time, Toga's spirit through Inuyasha) is indirectly teaching Sesshomaru about human tolerance and that humans aren't that bad. I'm sure Sesshomaru in his own way and too prideful to admit it deep down have brotherly love for Inuyasha especially why he stops Inuyasha's violent demonic rampage when he could've finish him off from there if he wanted to but he didn't, and Inuyasha feel the same way towards him especially why he sympathize with Sesshomaru after hearing the secret behind Meido Zangetsuha and Tenseiga. Even at the end of the Final Act series, they've all lived in harmony with their companions crossing paths altogether and their sibling rivalry concludes with a truce now that Sesshomaru accepts Inuyasha as a true owner to Tetseiga and Inuyasha accepts Sesshomaru as his only family member left and respects him as a powerful full fledged demon with human tolerance.

Wow, this has really changed my view. Sesshomaru was teaching Inuyasha. It makes sense for Inuyasha to get emotional about it the way he does. One, because he's petulant, but also because he really is so much younger. Sesshomaru must feel like a crown prince trying to reign in his very powerful asshole younger brother before he ruins everything.

I was tempted to add that bit in there as well as when Sesshomaru tells Inuyasha he may be half-demon, but he's still part demon and should be proud of that and shouldn't take help from humans. And inuyasha looked as if he agreed and sent Kagome away. It's actually what sparked the thought of 0:50. As if Inuyasha looked up to Sesshomaru.

Sesshomaru throughout the Inuyasha series it's self. Shows that sesshomaru actually cares but wants to hide it. Although it is proven very much so when rin is killed a second time in the underworld episode. Where we meet sesshomaru's mother.

Honestly, Sesshomaru has really only lost to Inuyasha twice, whether you read the manga or watch the anime. Sesshomaru lost when Inuyasha first used the true form of Tessaiga and again when Inuyasha used the windscar for the first time. Every other battle had Inuyasha be forced to escape, Sesshomaru let Inuyasha go, or Sesshomaru flat out defeating Inuyasha. Inuyasha has never been able to defeat Sesshomaru when he had Tokijin, and Inuyasha would definitely not stand a chance against Bakusaiga. As for their brotherly relationship, it's made abundantly clear in the anime in particular that Sesshomaru dislikes Inuyasha for personal reasons regarding their father. Inuyasha the movie 3 shows how Sesshomaru and Inuyasha both share a common desire to surpass their father in power, but Sesshomaru's desire to surpass Toga was stronger because he knew his father, unlike Inuyasha who never even saw his father's face. However, Toga died for his love Izayoi and their son Inuyasha on the night he was born, and Sesshomaru blames them both for that, carrying that resentment for over two centuries. I do think that Inuyasha and Sesshomaru did come to care for each other as brothers, even if they would never admit it.

1st battle was in their dad's corpse.
2nd battle was when he worked under Naraku to take Tessaiga, but ultimately fled.
3rd battle was when he got the dragon arm after Totosai split them up & lost due to Inuyasha learning the windscar.
I'd argue Sesshomaru's intent was to kill during the first 3 battles. People like the uploader are just adding their own spin to things. This is a show which is geared toward's a woman's & boy's fantasy. We can easily speculate that the older brother lost fair & square overestimating his own abilities & his greed leading to his downfall.
It wasn't until Inuyasha used windscar on Sesshomaru that Sesshomaru developed feelings for humans & took on a human companion. That's when he told both Jaken & Rin to stay back when he smacked sense into Inuyasha going full demon form & taught him some actual brotherly advice.

As someone who has been a fan of this series since the debut of the original anime and read the comics I always thought sesshomaru had a type of loving indifference towards inuyasha. He even helped him when he went on demonic rampages. I feel although sesshomaru would never admit he’s actually very proud and impressed by inuyasha strength even though he initially though being half human would make him weaker. Which is why he was always watching from the side and was there to help in his own way when he could.

Sesshomaru puts on a façade that he doesn't give a shit and he does have his practical and selfish reasons for helping others. But after watching the entire series, final act, movies, and Yashahime I have come to the honest conclusion that deep down he does care. He protects Inuyasha and his friends a few times throughout the show. He even brought a kid back from the dead to make them happy. He gives Inuyasha power from his sword in the final act just because his father would have wanted him to. At first, Sesshomaru has an issue with Inuyasha being a half demon because he sees him as weaker, but after Inuyasha defeats him a couple times then Sesshomaru starts to realize that it's not true and gains respect for Inuyasha as a worthy opponent (of course he would never say that out loud, but his actions make it clear he feels that way). Sesshomaru and Inuyasha both never make the final killing blow to one another and by the end of the series they tended to call it a draw or chose not fight at all. Sesshomaru doesn't want to really kill Inuyasha, because he has their father's blood. His real issue with him is resentment towards losing his father and blames Inuyasha. But Inuyasha never had a reason to hate Sesshomaru. I could see a young Inuyasha without his mom and dad being surprised to learn of his brother and probably open to have another family member in his life, but rejection from Sesshomaru over the years is most likely what started Inuyasha's initial resentment with his brother. After his brother even tried to kill him, Inuyasha started to develop his own hatred through personal experience. But both of them secretly care about the other because they both show signs of caring deeply about their father and that mutual love is what ends up bringing them together in the end as allies. There are a couple scenes where Sesshomaru shows acts of kindness to Inuyasha and in those moments we see Inuyasha immediately show gratitude and reciprocation. All Inuyasha wanted from his brother was respect and kindness from the only family member he had left. When Inuyasha finally receives that even a little, then all his resentments seem to disappear.
Honestly, Sesshomaru has the most character development in the whole series. He gradually grows to be more kind and open minded. The other characters don't change as much.

1:08 He didn't just learn about Inuyasha's blood being too strong for him, he told Kagome so she would understand and could make sure Inuyasha wasn't parted from it.
Come to think of it Sesshoumaru also saves Kagome and Inuyasha's friends from Mukotsu. He claimed he wanted to know if Inuyasha was there but with his nose, he knew every person in that hut, exactly where they were, and what was happening.

You are correct, I already knew this and realized that Sesshoumaru was actually training his brother and teaching him to become stronger. Guiding him and showing him the way to go and the road he must take. I too am an older brother and I would do this myself if I had to just to teach my sister and make her stronger, but we don't live in times like that so I don't have to do that.

I agree but at the same time I think there's a couple of times in the series he would have taken his little brothers life for the simple fact it would be kinder then letting Naraku have him but only if Inuyasha was unable to get stronger and if ever he lost his soul. Also I noticed Sesshomaru showed up after Inuyasha was freed from the tree almost like Sesshomaru is worried if he didn't get his little brother to learn to use his sword he lose again. Sesshomaru uses similar techniques when it comes to his children as wall just less insults.

Nice vid! Yeah, I honestly think Sesshomaru is the character with the most development (aside from Inuyasha himself) in this story. The only thing I don't really think is like you stated in your analysis is when Sesshomaru attacked Kagome the very first time... I mean, yeah, maybe he knew the sword would protect her, but his shocked reaction when he learned that she had survived was a little too real to think that he did. But who knows, maybe he's an awesome actor too.

    • @ignatheus
      @ignatheus  2 роки тому +6

So my thoughts on this version of Sesshomaru is an actor. Someone who's willing to do what is needed to protect his brother. But I omitted all his actual surface level villian stuff and went with a story underneath. The orginal video actually was a lot more in line with his canonical self. I just thought this would be a new way to look at the character. I'll make sure I let everyone know these types are just random theories as some people think this is his canonical self.

i think the reason sesshomaru tried to kill kagome back then is because "first" back then he hated humans and thought inuyasha's relationship with kagome was a source of weakness for his brother. and second, he was furious and resentful of both his father inu no taisho and his brother. His father died because of saving a human woman and her son, and his brother was sealed in a tree also by a human woman and on top of that inuyasha gave him no reason to believe that he had learned his lesson. He did wrong, but deep down he had good intentions, he just wanted to prevent his half brother from ending up embarrassing the family and dying like his father, luckily he began to question himself and tried to understand why his father and brother acted like this, and Rin was the one who taught him, taught him about love and the value of life. Once he began to understand it…not only did he become stronger, he also found a more effective way to make his brother stronger as well.

Maybe he relly dosen't like her to aproch he's younger brother, I mean in term of demons age , Inu was a bit more than a cub a that time, and in that era if humans dosen't fear half demon they use them, the exceptions are too little so I think he dosen't want to gamble on this. Ok , is wrong cause ' no one can live in a glass house but he himself was 20 or so ( in humans age) were can you think so profund at that age, plus his background, what kind of young prince would question himself ?!

  • @SESSHOMARU3INUTAISHO
    @SESSHOMARU3INUTAISHO 6 днів тому +1

For the longest time, I've always kind of figured that Sesshomaru had a bit of an odd spot for his brother. While he wouldn't go out of his way to help Inuyasha, he did so by ensuring that Inuyasha would get stronger or at least better himself in any way possible. For him losing an arm was indeed humiliating, and it showed during the episode of Princess Sara (or at least the spirit version of her). He cursed Inuyasha as he was passed out and healing from the attack. However, you did mention something that struck a cord with me and it lines up with what you said.
During his battle with Inuyasha when Inuyasha's demonic blood began to take control over him, Sesshomaru could have easily killed Inuyasha using the dragon strike. Instead, he wards him off with a simple demonic pulse of his Tokijin. He could have even killed Kagome when she tried to protect him, instead he actually informs her that Inuyasha only transforms when his life is in real danger and when he is seperated from his Tetsusaiga. Meaning that he was both testing a theory as well as ensuring that his younger brother understands his own power. If I remember correctly, at least 8-10 episodes prior, Goshinki (I may have misspelled that name), broke Inuyasha's Tetsusaiga which was bonded together by Inutaisho's fang. Up until that point, Inuyasha had been relying on his father's strength to get him through most of his battles. But when his sword broke, Inuyasha needed to rely on his own strength.
Sesshomaru noticed this immediately when he first held the Tokijin in his hand for the first time. My theory on that is, Sesshomaru knew that the Tetsusaiga was broken and when it was bonded back together, it was bonded with Inuyasha's fang. Meaning that Sesshomaru knew that Inuyasha would have to rely on his own strength rathter than the strength of their father. This is why Sesshomaru was able to easily disarm Inuyasha because Inuyasha didn't know his own true strength and it's because of that reason that Inuyasha was still relying on his father, only in this case, through the use of his demon blood.
Fast forward to the panther demon tribe, Sesshomaru was well aware of the battle, and remembered that even when he did call on his younger brother to come and help, he soon found out during that time, that Inuyasha was pinned to the tree due to a romance situation gone wrong, making Sesshomaru believe that he could no longer count on his brother. I wouldn't be suprised if that was the one chance he was willing to give Inuyasha to prove to him that he could actually be counted on, or if he would just leave him out to dry. And as it turns out, not only was he sealed away, but in Sesshomaru's mind, it was for the dumbest reason he could possibly imagine. (Remember, during Sesshomaru's personal battle against the panther demon tribe, he had never met rin. At least 50 years prior to Sesshomaru meeting Rin). Now the two of them have a common goal and that is to kill the leader of the panther demon tribe, only this time, Sesshomaru almost allowed his own demonic blood to get the better of him before his Tensaiga saved him from getting to that point. Luckly, he used the Tensaiga's life regeneration ability to kill the panther demon king (Leader?).
Within one of the movies, we see that Sesshomaru and Inuyasha actually work together to take down the sword of Hell, Sounga. It even came to blows to the point where Sesshomaru had to tell Inuyasha that he should thank Kagome for saving his life, because at the rate that Inuyasha was going, Sesshomaru was going to have to put Inuyasha down, and given the fact that the Tetsusaiga was more than enough temporarily stop him, it came at a cost of burning his hand. Once again, Sesshomaru could have killed Inuyasha right then and there, but he didn't. While it could be for plot armor or the fact that he no longer saw Inuyasha as a threat remains up for discussion, but the fact still remains that he could have killed both Kagome and Inuyasha for a second time. And for a second time, he let them both live.
Near the end of the Inuyasha series, Sesshomaru actually has to teach Inuyasha a lesson on how to use the Tetsusaiga and go as far as to punch him in the face to ensure that he got the damn message. So much so, that when his Tensaiga had shards of Kanna's mirror, he could have easily user any number of techniques that Inuyasha had, not to mention that his swordsmanship skill were far above Inuyasha's, so it's reasonable to believe that Sesshomaru, in his own sadistic way, was actually giving Inuyasha a hands on training on how to use the Medio Zangetsuha, because he knew at the time that the point of the Tensaiga having that technique was to hold on to it until it was ready to be used by Inuyasha. As much as it pissed him off to know that the one technique that could have put him on equal ground with Inuyasha was only there because it was specifically made for the Tetsusaiga, and Sesshomaru understood that, which is why he broke his own sword to ensure that Inuyasha got that technique at the end of their fight.
Now going into Yashahime, the very first thing that he does when his daughters are born is to take them away from Rin and place them near the tree of ages with a barrier around them because he knew that their lives would have been in danger if they stayed in the village. The same thing happened with Kagome and Inuyasha. With Kirinmaru now back and ready to take on Sesshomaru or at least the rightful ruler of the West, Sesshomaru gave up that title, which meant that Inuyasha was next in line. Not wanting his brother, wife, and niece in danger, he sent both his brother and sister-in-law to be in danger, so he sent them to the only place where he knew that no one would have been able to get to them and that was Inutaisho's grave, then lied to Kirinmaru about saving Inuyasha's life.
Overall, Sesshomaru may not have been a full antagonist, but he was the driving force that led Inuyasha to being the well rounded half demon that came to be, while also having his own arc as well. From the cunning and relentless aristocratic assassin, to a protector of Rin, to being the unnamed mentor to Inuyasha, all the way to being a father of twin daughters and husband to Rin. More than likely coming full circle with his own struggles and trials. From losing his arm, to losing interest in the Tetsusaiga, to the feeling of betrayal of his own father for the Medio Zangetsuha technique, to becoming his own demon and gaining the Bakusaiga (and getting his own arm back), to caring for Inuyasha and his entourage, along with Rin and his daughters.

I'm sure Sesshomaru is indeed a big brother to Inuyasha as he knows that his little brother is a half demon sure he could kill him if he wanted to but I'm sure he's using "kill my brother" to hide his care for Inuyasha because he's the crown prince of Inutaisho but at least he takes care of his little brother in his own way

While this is an interesting idea and I've seen it in other places this doesn't really work with in the show due to two important themes within the show. Tensaiga and Baksaiga. Tensaiga was given to Sesshomaru so that he could learn compassion and ultimately so he and Inuyasha could work together and learn to be brothers. Also it was so that if Inuyasha would have to defend himself against Sesshomaru then Tensaiga would prevent Sesshomaru's death. If Sesshomaru already was looking out for Inuyasha then his character arc wouldn't work. He should have already gotten Baksaiga. Baksaiga came to him after he decided to be his own power and not trying to obtain his father's in the form of Tessaiga. For this theory to properly work I would say it would be more along the lines that he didn't want his father's blood to be weak and not some care for Inuyasha. While yes he is stronger it also makes sense that his desire for his father's power was suppressing his true power and potential in reality. Which I think makes slightly more sense given the themes and narratives within the story.

I think sesshomaru cares and love inuyasha even if the google says he despices his brother. The reason I think sesshomaru loves his brother is that if he could only use one hand to kill a demon and y'all know that inuyasha is a half-demon, sesshomaru could've had killled him if wants to like he always says he will be the one to kill his brother but yet still hesitate to do it maybe for only a right time to kill him or does he love him but just doesn't want to show it.They are so perfect I just want to see them both happy ad huggig eachother teasig eachother I want tthat but I guess that sesshomaru needs to understand his brother before killing him l wish them both good luck. I think Sesshomaru hated Inuyasha at first. Even fairly late Kaugra catches him mumbling hatred and decides to gain Sesshomaru's favor by stealing Tetsuiga for him. We see him soften a bit when he lets Rin join him. He seems to look after little brother, but in his own awful way, and he says several times that he will not allow anyone ELSE to kill Inuyasha. Sesshomaru is a most delicious villain! Did he let Inuyasha take his arm off, or was that a surprise? I think he did not expect little brother could do that to him.

It becomes way more obvious during mid and finale of series. When Inuyasha fully transformed into demon, Sesshomaru could easily kill his younger brother, but he didn't. In the end, when Inuyashas body was possessed by Magatsuhi, onse again, Sesshomaru refused to use bakusaiga and instead went with tenseiga. He also gave up tetsaiga and Meidozangetsuha to Inuyasha. It really speaks volumes. BUT I should say that I think Sesshomaru grew to care for his brother during the course of series. He didnt realy cared in beginning.

I knew from the first battle they had Sesshomaru's intentions was to protect and guide his baby brother even tho his way of doing so werent the best we still saw his love for his brother, he was always there to protect him when InuYasha needed it the most like the last scene u had on the video he pushes him out of the way to protect him.
3:30 where is that scene from??

WHAT A PLOT TWIST, I could never go so far. I have never read the manga (yet, cause I'm dying to do it!!) so I can only speak about the anime and trying to understand Sesshomaru I could think that he was constantly struggling with his envy even though he cared about his brother, cause Sesshomaru looks spoiled many times and I also think he is, but imagine you're an only child of two powerful yokais and you grow up knowing your father's inheritance is mean to be only yours but then your father decides to have another child? Worse, with a human woman, he dies because of them both and Tensaiga is left to this boy? What absurdity, a disrespect with Lord Sesshomaru and he could've killed his brother many times, but never finishing it, cause he never wanted to. I think Sesshomaru hates that he loves he brother at the point that he wished he could kill him, but he can't he actually loves his brother even though he's still learning about what love is. That's Sesshomaru's complex

Why is this video so far behind on the Inuyasha series? The original Inuyasha series that features naraku has already been completed. If the person who made this video were to watch the final act, he would know that inuyasha's strength is almost equivalent to his father's strength... This observation is later confirmed throughout the series as we watch Inuyasha become stronger, faster, and more skilled with his sword. So I don't know WTH this dude is talking about

The video is focusing on the theoretical analysis of Sesshomaru's character. Just because something is completed doesn't mean it can't be reviewed again. I don't need to watch the final act as this video contains information that isn't even included in the anime. False, Inuyasha surpasses his father in power due to the sword not in actual physical combat. But in repeat again this is a theory-based video where we analysis the series for small details that's all. I'm assuming you want a Yashahime video? Not a fan but I have one coming up for you if that's the case.

@@ignatheusin the beginning of the series, Sesshomaru's powers are beyond his younger brother's until the final act. At one point, inuyasha's power reaches that of his father's. Then, once Sesshomaru regains his lost arm and gains the baksaiga (,spelling), totosai says that Sesshomaru has surpassed his father. I don't think myoga or totosai said that about Inuyasha.
Not only that - but the last time I checked, Sesshomaru's baksaiga can kill 1000 demons in a single stroke - toga couldn't do that. While inuyasha's tetsaiga only kills 100 demons. Therefore, it seems that Sesshomaru surpassed his father, while inuyasha's power are equal to his father's, for Inuyasha relies heavily on the tetsaiga.
Yet you said that Inuyasha's power surpassed his father? How is that so? Which episode, I wonder? Because I don't recall that.
Also you theorize that Sesshomaru was trying to "help" Inuyasha... 🤔 I give you that one. I never looked at it that way until your analysis.

While I think that this is a nice theory, It glosses over important things. Sesshomaru wanted to kill Naraku because Naraku tricked him with the arm. The fake arm that Naraku gave him allowed him to temporarily wield the Tessaiga. However, at the end of the battle when Sesshomaru literally left Inuyasha on the brink of death because Inuyasha on the brink of death put up a barrier against him with the sword, Sesshomaru was unable to finish killing Inuyasha. The tessaiga saved Inuyasha from Sesshomaru killing him and Sesshomaru wasn’t trying to train him. Sesshomaru was trying to kill Inuyasha but the barrier of the tessaiga stopped him. And when Sesshomaru left Inuyasha on the brink of death, The fake arm that Naraku gave him burnt Sesshomaru’s body and was meant to kill Sesshomaru. Sesshomaru didn’t like how Naraku doubled crossed him like that so he aimed to kill Naraku. We learn that even though Sesshomaru is a heartless demon, he can hold a grudge. A petty grudge. Even though the arm didn’t kill him, because it was too weak to kill him, it was the fact that Naraku double crossed him that made him realize that Naraku was not a trustworthy person, which started his revenge against Naraku.
In the beginning of the series, Sesshomaru hated Inuyasha. Sesshomaru tried to kill Inuyasha on multiple occasions but never carried through with it, not because he was trying to train Inuyasha, but because I seriously think his hatred for Inuyasha was something deep rooted in anger. I believe it’s connection to his father.
Sesshomaru almost never kills Inuyasha because he knows that Inuyasha is weaker than him so he probably took out his anger against his father and just Inuyasha being born in general on Inuyasha whenever he saw Inuyasha. However, once Inuyasha got the sword, it was a battle to the death, because now Inuyasha has the strength to be a decent match for Sesshomaru. The only thing Sesshomaru in the beginning taught Inuyasha was to know his place as a half breed in this world. Remember how Sesshomaru would always repeat that to Inuyasha while they battled before Inuyasha got the tessaiga? If you look at their relationship as normal sibling behavior when the parent remarries and a new sibling is born, or the parents stay together and a new sibling is born, or when the parents choose a favorite sibling, Sesshomaru’s behavior is similar to that-a jealous sibling. And his father giving the sword to Inuyasha, instead of him was just icing on the cake of hatred against Inuyasha. That’s why he kept emphasizing on Inuyasha’s half breed status-know your place as he would say to Inuyasha. Sesshomaru had no respect for Inuyasha but that started to change after he got his own sword and he saw how much stronger Inuyasha was getting. Then he decided to protect and help Inuyasha to become a bit stronger so Inuyasha will be able to use the tessaiga to the fully potential. He also might have done this besides the fact that he developed feelings of care towards Inuyasha, but also because he probably thinks it’s a disgrace that Inuyasha is not using their father’s most powerful sword to its full potential due to ignorance.
Personally, I start to notice the change in tone of Sesshomaru’s behavior towards Inuyasha during the band of seven arc when he saves Inuyasha’s friends twice (or maybe that one time with the poisonous guy) because he knows how badly their deaths would hurt Inuyasha. He uses Naraku’s scent as an excuse to save them, but let’s be honest here. Then he saves Inuyasha from Naraku destroying Inuyasha at their father’s grave-which he did because he cares about inuyasha and because it would be disgraceful if Inuyasha died at their own father’s grave with the tessaiga. Although the beginning of the series Sesshomaru is a hateful and jealous sibling, somewhere after he gets his own sword, he starts to care for Inuyasha as a normal brother. I think it’s because he finally sees through his unjustified hatred and sees Inuyasha as Inuyasha is and not just a half breed but someone who is trying hard to make it in the world. It’s probably here where Sesshomaru realizes the mistake he made with Inuyasha, but instead of apologizing or admitting his mistake, he just takes on the role of a responsible older sibling to Inuyasha.
Out of the many characters in the series, Inuyasha and Sesshomaru and their relationship have the best character development. And Sesshomaru is a complex character.
So your theory is nice but it’s flawed for the reasons that I point out. It glossed over many important things. I think your theory can be applied to the later part of the series, not the first half.
Edit: plus if Sesshomaru was trying to train Inuyasha in the beginning, he would’ve never left Inuyasha on the brink of death or heavily wounded and unable to take care of himself in a world of demons. Sesshomaru didn’t care for Inuyasha at the beginning because if he didn’t he would’ve have never left Inuyasha wounded to the point of almost death and left in the cares of a human. What if a random demon comes and kills Inuyasha in his weaken state?
I think another thing Sesshomaru realizes later on in the series is that he could’ve helped raised Inuyasha after he indirectly contributed to their father’s death. But because of Sesshomaru’s personal issues, he choose not to do this, but he realizes this later on in the series because of I think Rin. See how he took care of her before he apparently married her? He could’ve taken care of Inuyasha in the beginning. However he didn’t. Once he realizes his mistake, instead of admitting gulit he decides to protect and train Inuyasha to make up for those times. This is just a theory.

Anyone who seriously thinks Sesshomaru doesn't actually care about Inuyasha didn't pay attention. I remember watching this as a kid and I realized that he helped and protected Inuyasha so many times throughout the series, he just acts like a jerk and like he's indifferent. Other characters even pointed out times where it seemed like Sesshomaru was helping him. I feel like if you read between the lines, it's made very clear that his negative feelings for Inuyasha stem from his father dying for his mother. He could've seriously killed Inuyasha numerous times and he always chooses not to. The fact that he started caring so much for Rin, a human, and his views have changed so much in Yashahime shows that he's not as cold as he acts. Honestly he's a bit of a softie imo 😌love the video!

At first I thought the reason Sesshomaru was just pissed off of Inuyasha because Toga ( his father) gave the Tetsusaiga to Inuyasha and not given to him but when throughout the series of him and Inuyasha constantly meeting each other, Sesshomaru really was trying to be a high pride prince brother to Inuyasha indirectly so that Inuyasha can unlock the powers of the sword itself and when all those journeys that Sesshomaru despise Inuyasha because a lowlife half breed demon like him gets to use his father's prized sword and he had to use the Healing sword Tenseiga was just his father's challenge to surpass what Sesshomaru already is, a higher demon that can rely on his own powers and skills, the reason for Inuyasha who has been gifted with the Tetsusaiga, is because to keep check on his demon side and protect Inuyasha when he is at his most vulnerable phase, the Tetsusaiga absorbs demon energy and that helps Inuyasha keep his demon side at bay along with the sword itself absorbing abilities and utilizing them at Inuyasha's will.
Sesshomaru on the other hand, really didn't need a special sword from his father because Toga already said that he's a full demon and that he doesn't need the Tetsusaiga, he only needs to believe in his demonic side and pull out his strongest weapon, The Bakusaiga which isn't inherited from his father but only found within himself when Sesshomaru surpassed his father in many ways, by having someone to protect, having the intense strength of a full demon and believing in his blood.
And to think after all those episodes, all Sesshomaru wanted was a sword to cut someone or Inuyasha with

Shess has been taking care of Inuyasha & visit regularly since he was a kid but pretend to mocking him.
Shess was very disapointed that Inuyasha was sealed by kikyo . He was angry to kikyo & human because they harm Inu. He also dissapointed to him self for not protecting Inuyasha . He also mad thay Inu was so stupid to Get sealed by kikyo. That makes him start a journey to find tessaiga so the katana wont missing & wasted. He felt Inu cant be trusted & too stupid to weild it
When he saw Inu again with a human girl he was so furius to Kagome. But her connection to the sword make him curious of her. Later on Inu took his Hand Made him determinasi to took the sword. It stop when he finds out that his father left tessaiga to Inu to seal his demon blood. I thinks he remember his feeling to his brother & his respect to his father. Shess is an obidient son. His blessing to Kagome show the 1st time when he turn Inu and he reminds Kagome about it then left.
After that his journey with Rin more a character Building From that anoying self center over confident demon to a more humble & wise. Its so far Seshomaru has gone From murdering for fun & flip his long hair into that person who spare his enemy for his twin daughter acceptance.

    Rumiko Takahashi is a genius.
It’s not easy to write characters who are so layered and complex that they make you discover new things about them the deeper you look into the story.
None of her characters is inherently evil nor inherently good, they’re all flawed and at their core so human.
Even Naraku had a plausible motivation, he’s of a VERY dark grey but not inherently black.
Sesshomaru is no hero, he’s not even “good”, he’s a grey character with a kindhearted core.
Characters like that are the most difficult to create without making them come off as artificially volatile or making it too obvious that you want the characters to be grey, and Rumiko Takahashi pulls it off like that, that’s so amazing and deserves recognition.
