So, my wife and I finally started a vegetable garden in the middle of this year. We are producing a lot of Desi Chori. And, sometimes, we get a random sort of crop. The other day, I got four lady fingers, two baby eggplant, several small capsicum, and several small tomatoes. Throw in an onion, and it is sambar time! Having already made our powder, and then using the second method in this video, it was so easy, and enabled me to make sure my crop is not wasted. We had a dosa night, and put six servings of sambar in the freezer for future dosa nights. Thank you as always, Gita.
Geeta ma’am, you are the best combination of simplicity, talent and knowledge of South Indian cuisine that I have found in years on you tube. Your personality also shines through in a way that makes me wonder if it is even possible for a person in the new generation of us Hindus to be like yours. I hope we can be! As a North Indian I am going to try all three ways now one by one. Thank you so much.
Tried your 7 days dal receipies and also few frying instantly and making instant sambar powder and making sambar and today tried your radish tiffin sambar and even i liked it a lot. All your receipies are wonderful and easy to understand and make even for a person who is cooking for the first time. We used to make sambar earlier using the readymade sambar powder and we never used to feel like eating it your recipes are amazing Gita ma'am. Nowadays myself my husband and my son is loving the recipes that you show us and following the same. Thank you ma'am for making eating interesting like this. Sumathi Anil and Charvik.
After watching this...I missed my mother and sambar recipe...She used to drop all vegetables nd the sambar was Awesome to eat....Thank you Mam for recalling my old days....I m from visakhapatnam Now i m in Gurgaon nd missing old days..... I will prepare sambar.....thanks a lot Mam.....🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
i really like your recipes and style of cooking. because you seem to be cooking from the types of the kitchen where we have at home. it's not a makeover kitchen. also, you are very traditional and authentic.
I am from a different culture and apparently we've nothing in common yet 'sweet' is the word that comes to my mind watching and listening you. God bless you!
I might have had sambar a million times in my life and made it ten thousand times 🤪 yet when I saw all the 3 sambar my mouth was watering 😋😋 Being a South Indian I love my sambar, rasam, Upma, dosa, Idli etc., Nothing can come close to these comforting, healthy and delicious dishes... Gita Mam I could literally feel the aroma of Sambar when boiling 🙈.... I too make sambar the 2nd way along with grated coconut... Thank you for teaching me the 3rd way.. will try that very soon 🙏🏻
Aunty! 1 1/2 table spoons sambar powder! Lol nice!!! Not only are you showing 3 ways but all at the same time! That is a true cook lol who can manage 3 recipies simultaneously! They all look so yummy!!! Tysm for showing us this!
it is great to watch you cook and explain, even though I cook all these. When you get time, please explain the difference among, Tamil, Karnatak and Andhra sambar.
Your tiffin sambar recipe cleared my long time doubts neatly, where I got the point is grinding some sauted onion, little sauted tomatoes, a teaspoon of coconut , have to be added while grinding the masalas for this sambar. Thank you madam. All your other recipes are very clear with details, thanks for explaining, and steadfast demonstrations of all recipes in clear steps. Great you are, madam
Also can u pls send the recepie for the Sambhar we have at temples. I have had at Udupi, Shri krishna temple, shringeri and other temples. The Sambhar is to die for.

One never stops learning . I am northIndian and liv e in U.K. . I knew only one way to cook sambhar and that was the tiffin style .. Bought time life book on Indian cooking and got the recipe. I can see it was not totally authentic because it required to add freshly fresh grated coconut and coriander garnishing . Thanks for the recipe of homemade sambhar powder. Thanks a zillion.
Gita ji, Sambar is our favourite. Thanks so much for the recipe of the different types of sambar. Your patience in explaining and cooking these dishes is beyond words. God bless you and your good family. Am going to make one of these today. Take care Gita ji.

Chow chow is called coyote squash where I live, but I’ve also heard it called merlitron. I’ve noticed that many ethnic cuisine is a little of several vegetables, which is what you get when you garden, little bits of lots of things. Best way to eat, out of a garden. The Sam ar recipes look scrumptious
