..and thank you for the soundtrack of my teens. Found myself driving a road the other day with BOOH playing in my car and realised I'd ridden that very same road on my motorcycle with a Walkman feeding the same song into my helmet... about 35 years before!

Meat Loaf has been my favorite artist since I was 9 years old, 24 years ago. That was when I first heard "I Would Do Anything For Love". Everyone else was listening to BSB and I was blasting "Paradise by the Dashboard Lights". He had some hard times and so many health issues but despite it all he really left his mark. I'm so happy I saw him in concert in 2016. His voice wasn't as strong any more but he was still iconic and he put on one helluva show. Rest easy Meat. ❤🦇
He was the first concert I saw in 93 or 94 ..my Dad took me, I was in 6th grade.. sat in the 6th or 8th row orchestra pit..it was mesmerizing lol. Set a very high bar for concerts going forward! I was very picky on what I would go see.

Rest in glory to the man that changed music for me forever. The first time I had ever heard a Meat Loaf song was in the end credits of a bobs burgers episode where they were singing Bat out of hell. And then I heard Meat Loaf sing it and every expectation I had for what a song should be was shattered. I remember discovering later that there was an entire second act after the instrumental intermission that I had skipped over, and I realized that this was unlike any music I had heard before. The passion and conviction that he consistently sang with was stunning, and it was the perfect companion to the epic, melodramatic lyrics and sprawling compositions of Steinman. No one else has ever conveyed the drama and romanticization and grandeur that occupies my brain quite like that man. I have no doubt that his legacy will live on in car radios on the way home from finally hooking up with your high school crush, speakers in the shower at midnight while the woe of life is contemplated, and deep in souls everywhere.
We should be grateful that these videos and recordings are so readily available. This captures Meat Loaf at his absolute best with his vocal ability peaking. The song, as is most of his catalogue, is written perfectly for his style...it really is a beautiful piece lyrically and musically which, due to Father Time, will never be heard in its full glory again live as Meat's voice is well and truly shot. Matters little when I see just how great he was watching this.
Perfection. Probably the best song ever made perfomed by the best singer ever lived. What more can a man ask for. We have to be greatful for the fact that someone put Jim Steiman together with Meatlof.
The first time I heard this song Meat Loaf was singing to my soul. A lot of things had happened in my life and this song brought them into focus. I tear up every time I hear this song. Even now Meat Loaf sings with the same heart, soul and passion that he always has. I was hooked and fell in love in the '70's and I'm still hooked and in love today. Once you realize the depth of soul and passion in his music you are hooked for life. He is a Legend.

Goosebumps and tearing up. Absolutely fkn incredible
It's the best bit..
The bird at back.. Does she turn away at that moment for his shinning moment..
Or because she might crumble and not be able to hold herself...
❤
Thank you for this song . You are my hero 💕🤘💕. Vergessen werde ich dich nie. 35 Jahre war ich dir und deiner Musik treu und es werden noch viele Jahre hinzukommen bis zu meinem Tod. I love you 💔🖤💔
