      Sorry to burst your bubble, but Michael Aday aka Meat Loaf, had some serious issues over the years with cocaine and alcohol. He overcame them and I believe he was sober for a long time by the time he died. Drug addiction is a disease which is all too easy to catch in the world of Rock & Roll. No shame, though! Same with obesity… we have to stop judging and shaming people for physical and mental (and sometimes both) illnesses that they have to battle very hard to overcome and often just can’t do anything about! From everything I know about him Meat Loaf was a good man who was devoted to his family, especially his children, and a very hard-working artist whose recordings and performances will live on!

I was lucky to catch a pre-tour and album release concert in upstate NY in a small theater. Great show.

In this world image is so prevalent, and there is more to a person that that. The media and such make it seem that you must look a certain way to suceed in life and its a shame. • @vaskylark
      @vaskylark 2 роки тому +7

      Absolutely! That's how it used to be in the music industry. It was about the voice and songwriting NOT about the "look". I don't give two figs what any singer looks like so long as their songs reach inside and I feel. Music in the 70's and before was all about that. Think how many artists there are today that are NOT getting record deals because they aren't deemed sexy enough? The world is being robbed. American music primarily, but really all western music is god awful and it isn't because there aren't talented people out there, there are, we just don't get to experience their music. Sucks. Based on the criteria today Meat Loaf would not have received a record deal. Hard to imagine but it's true.
