I don't find it cringe that Dream likes how he looks. I'm not someone who watches his stuff, and I don't know much about him. But hearing his story of wwight loss here, it makes sense that he'd be happy with his appearance. He worked hard for it.
I agree with you, and that comment around 9:30 kind of bothered me. Criticising somebody (regardless of gender) for no reason other than their being confident/happy with their appearance... I dunno it just kind of rubbed me the wrong way
Dream been had a bad image before the face reveal. (Hes into little kids and was even accused of horrible stuff such as racism, supporting naz! (Theres a tweet ab it exposing him on it) and so on. Dream is a horrible person but ppl just love glazing him bc of how much hes been getting bullied.
As someone who has basically 0 exposure to Dream outside of drama channels, the fact the entirety of the internet being against him even when he brought forth totally reasonable evidence is so bizarre to me. Not necessarily that people ignored it, but that nobody (not even channels covering it that acknowledged its validity) said anything. Like, I've heard the dude is weirdly parasocial and cheated at Minecraft, but like... bruh.
I personally clocked all the allegations except one as being either fake or insignificant nearly immediately. The only one that I’m still not convinced on is the Amanda situation because he intentionally lied and manipulated what he showed in that section and she’s the only one he sent a legal order to because I’m pretty sure he knows she can prove he lied relatively easily in her section.
i appreciate how he reached out to dream and confirmed all of his sources. i watched another video on dreams response earlier today on another commentary channel that clearly didn’t watch or comprehend all of dreams response, and they continued to spread misinformation.
same I was watching one yesterday from a channel I found a few days ago that seemed to really care about getting facts and everything. I watched their video on all this and they essentially went "yea I watched the video, but hey audience look he messaged minors and even if he wasnt predatory to them, Dream is still being really predatory because these are minors. Oh ya and don't even watch the whole vid its just full of manipulations of the truth." I found this pretty sucky because they seemed real cool and wanted all the facts, but seeing them do this just made me wonder how many other creators they miss represented in there videos.
One of the most ANNOYING things about Twitter is their refusal to read/listen for more than 141 characters. Seriously, genuinely, truly braindead behavior of people who don't care what's true or false and probably couldn't comprehend it even if they did.
I'm so glad I never jumped onto the Dream hate train. It seemed so vitriolic and insane with hardly any proof. Only accusations. And then the people hating him were pretty much ONLY mocking his appearance, justifying it with "he's a bad guy, so it's okay." Completely ignoring any time anyone tried to tell them that by mocking his appearance, you literally ALSO mock ANY OTHER PERSON who happens to share any aspects of appearance with him. So they don't ACTUALLY care about helping anyone lessening harm. They just want a target to hate as much as possible.

As someone who never really care, watched or liked dream, its crazy how much the Internet can create and spread drama and false information if they dislike a person.
I kind of get that as someone who just avoided hearing about most of the allegations, it is a manipulative tactic to hop on the same thing at a close time with others as it generally spreads misinformation or bias. I think it also goes back to the demographic of viewers which can leave certain impression on how the person must act or do things day to day to being able to sustain holding viewing of those demographics. In this case the most vocal demographic was children or young teenagers so therefore its no surprise that petty allegations were levelled against him or even more serious ones.
let me preface this by saying I have never watched a single Dream video in my life. I'm 26yo, and even when I was a teen I wasn't into that sort of stuff. HOWEVER, I would also like to say I find it very cringe the way people are approaching his apology. For example, reaching out to Dream to ask him to essentially doxx people he wanted to protect--even if you don't expose them in the video--is wild to me. Why didn't you reach out the accusers instead and put them under the same level of scrutiny? If big youtubers like this did that, would it have ever gotten so far? But it's up to the person being accused to have the burden of proof laid at their feet? Another smaller point as well, who cares if his video was monetized or not? Who cares if he donated the profits or not? He's not allowed to benefit from his own cancelling or else the court of public opinion--that was wrong in the first place, mind you--will judge him to be insincere? The world needs to change its way of viewing accusations like this. Unless you come forward with real ironclad evidence, you shouldn't be allowed to ruin a person's life just because. Are you just supposed to move about your life constantly collecting "evidence" against everyone you interact with just in case one of them is insane enough to levy a false accusation at you? I hope for all of your sakes, and mine, that this never happens to any one of us.
Yes! I'm not the biggest Dream fan too and I have never really cared about all of this too much. But since a lot of big UA-camrs spread these allegations as if they are basically proven instead of viewing it a little more critical the information that people like us receive is "Dream is a creep and a groomer and there is some proof probaply idk". I find it crazy that he had to disprove that one grooming allegation from that one 17y/o girl at all when she literally had no proof. But before I saw this video that story got to me as "basically proven". Crazy how you can "ruin" a persons reputation by just conveing allegations in a different way.
As an outsider looking in about Dream is truly a surreal experience of how everyone collectively on most social platforms literally imploded on how much hate they had for this man. Absolute buffoonery.

Obviously, the kittens thing was clearly similar to a mascot for the fans like vtubers do. I've heard "I see you guys as cute little blobs" before. This is deliberately intended to slightly push the parasocial away by subtly saying I don't see you all as a romantic interest. You're not really family/friends because you don't really have a voice from his abstract perspective, but still sees reactions and care for each other a little like you might a pet or a kitten
From the beginning, I took everything said about Dream as nothing but conjecture. Sure he’s a bit cringey, but if cringe was a crime, we’d all be in jail. He comes across to me as a genuinely nice guy finding his way but having some awkward moments. I relate to that so much (I’m sure many people do), and seeing what happened to Dream has made me so paranoid about just living my life. That was something I had been able to overcome previously, but seeing someone so similar to me, someone who was from a completely different walk of life, deal with this caused that paranoia to resurface. I don’t need to be remembered, but if I am, I want it to be for the right reasons. I hate feeling like I’m always tiptoeing around people (because I know the vast majority of people don’t think that way), but it takes just one person with a little bit of influence to ruin a life. All that to say, it’s encouraging to see that a lot of people really did take the time to listen before jumping to the worst conclusions like so many others. Dream is not perfect, and neither is any one of us.
It's incredibly creepy when these absolute children try to bait huge content creators into talking as much as possible, and then cry that they've been violated when that in no way happened. The moral of the story is be careful who you're talking to. I don't like Dream, but I don't see any misconduct here.
I’m sorry but if you’re an adult there’s no way for a kid to bait you into talking to them. Like there’s literally nothing a child could say to me to make me have a conversation with them.
With the “kittens” thing he meant it as a metaphor with how people say the love all cats/kittens or dogs/puppies even though they haven’t met them to compare that the love he has for his fans was different than love one has with family
To be concise: him making it a well edited video means he is treating it seriously. Most post a fake emotional response that has many holes. With serious accusations comes serious responses
The Internet is like a large group of hungry piranhas, when someone does a controversial action, they feast off of it for like 30 seconds until the next drama occurs. And I think this is the repeating case for Dream.
In defense of general grooming victims, it's not always easy to prove something like this, dms can be deleted, maybe the victims lost access to their accounts they used, the list can go on. But I do agree, there wasn't proper proof against Dream that could hold up. I think the reason dream got his video edited in such high quality is because people online often dont listen or read his apology and continue blaming him, so he produced the video in a way to keep everyone who would usually just not listen and continue to blame him engaged for the full hour and a half so that everyone would get off of his case, I might just be overthinking though

There's only like 3 or 4 people he's going to sue, and it's exactly what many people agree with and said he should do, and it is what he should do as it sets a precedent and delivers justice to these people and shows the consequences of their actions; that won't taint his image especially after he's proved his innocence.
Although it seems odd, I do think the reason that the video is edited the way it is is just to make sure that people keep watching. Most people weren’t willing to read a tweet of his, much less watch an hour long video. If I were him, I’d probably pull out all my engagement tricks too. Also the reason he didn’t explain any of this until now was because of Amanda threatening legal action and his legal team advising him against saying anything. He went against their advice in speaking about it like a month ago, which is why people started talking about it again.
I think a lot of this video is great! But I do also thing that it brings up a lot of aggression and added misunderstandings. One is that "How wouldn't he have known the game was modified in that way?" which is a really simple explanation: the drop rates weren't massively different. In the video by Karl Jobst he explores this a little bit, but having astronomical odds doesn't necessarily mean them being insanely different from regular gameplay. It was only when a later-exposed cheater was suspicious of Dream's drop rates that any investigation was done into Dream

It's basically witch hunting through a new medium
let me preface this by saying I have never watched a single Dream video in my life.

I thought the internet was actually more together than it’s ever been against amber heard lol, except her tiny band of simps
@@ravenID429 Yeah I thought everyone was against her until someone showed Twitter posts. Granted it's Twitter, but the amount of people was still insane.

“Bro was allegedly moaning” got me😂
Notice how everything escalated so quickly after the face reveal.
people took the chance to dunk on him after it, which given the excitement of the fans would give the people what they wanted; to make fun of the children or people who still defended him so they likely thought up a way of getting him falsely 'cancelled' so he wouldn't return therefore the children and other people would be more 'normal.'
It's obviously a pattern of behaviour like your implying.
26:28 in fairness hes basically building a brand, i think that can be done without appearing self obsessed but also it can come off as it. I have zero personal experience with dream but i think judging someone off their public appearances when theyre a creator of dreams caliber is somewhat misrepresenting him.
I have seen so many content creators, large and small, be cancelled and had their lives ruined due to false allegations. I’ve been watching these creators for years, and knew these allegations were false, and yet was put in a position where if I said anything I would be completely annihilated by people on the internet. Cancel culture is absolutely idiotic.
I love how Dream uses XqC and Poki to show how easy it is to fake messages and videos with a black screen.
I have always celebrated/clowned on Dream for being cringe. It's never been anything personal, but he's so cringe and I love it. But I never wanted him to have a downfall, I want him to have so much money that he founds an entire country made of cringe and I will visit there for the cringe!
Right no need to change man your fans will flock to you regardless just be yourself especially if its cringe haha
Dream really embraces the cringe inside
Better to embrace than just pretend you're a better person just because you are not cringe even though all of us came from cringe
haha i love this comment honestly. i love cringey people, as long as it isn't rlly overboard
all 3 of his victims admitted to lying, yk.
Being a former dream fan, this is honestly a breath of fresh air. The allegations never seemed genuine, they seemed very easy to fake and since leaving the fandom and twitter, my only source of info surrounding dream and his controversies was r/dreamwastaken2, but they appear very biased (duh)
Being a dream fan in 2020-2023 seems horrible, so i hope that onwards dream stays out of controversy and off twitter, and i hope that people dont hate dream and his fans as much now.
if youre from dwt2 and you see this, hi and no hate😅!

"Bro was allegedly moaning" has to be my favorite sentence from this vid 😂. Nice video man 👍
I jumped on the bandwagon and started to seriously hate Dream but after watching his video and doing my own homework, I don’t think he’s guilty. I really don’t. I think the internet is super disgusting to those they don’t automatically deem conventionally attractive or funny. I hope Dream can learn from these lessons and so can those who lied and slandered his name.

As a Dream fan, that's better than I have ever hoped for. People can change and grow. It's been very heartwarming to me seeing people change their minds, including people who now dislike him but at a normal degree and still think he's cringe but know the allegations were fake.

im 24 and its kinda suprising to me seeing so many people always thinking dreams fandom is so young cause as someone who is actually in it all my mutulas and people I've ever talked to/met at conventions which is a lot have been in the 18-22 rage.. its soooo rare that someone under 18 is in the community so I've always been confused by this.
Yeah, thats always confused me too. I've never met anyone who's a fan of Dream below 16. My younger siblings (9-12 range) generation know who Dream is, but none of them have watched any of his videos to any meaningful capacity.
I've always wondered why people think all of his fans are young kids since none of the kids I've babysat know much about Dream in the first place.
Thank you for coming at this situation with an open mind. This was one of the better videos I’ve seen that has covered the topic. I 100% agree that Dream made a great video and I’m glad he got to tell his side of the story. Thanks, Oompa. 💜
An hour long video from you is all we needed this Christmas, thanks Caleb 🫶🏼
The worst part is even after proving his right against these claims, many won't see that video and will latch on to previously debunked accusations.
I don't understand the problem with the 'kittens' thing. If I remember correctly (I'm ancient) we had the Crypt Keeper also adress the viewers as 'Kittens' and sometimes 'boils and ghouls"... just seems like people put their own (be it positive or here mostly negative) interpretation to it
I like to see how « both sides » are shown. Ive seen the whole video he posted on it but didn’t have anyone to speak it to so hearing you talk about it is nice
the refreshing part is OOmpville is on a dislike part but actually took the time to listen and interview the man.
I dont know a thing about Dream, but I do really appreciate how he went about this. Slazo went in this same direction, full transparency and vulnerability, and a stockpile of documents and proof. Embarrassing or not, it gets the air cleared. Long Live Slazo.
Dream is legit such a nice person, im so sad that this happened to him (also, ill say, congrats on dream on loosing all that weight)
He is a genuinely nice dude, and I guess that's why people are digging for dirt on him.
I agree, the only thing bad about him is how he can be pretty cringe sometimes. But other than that, he's a very genuine person in my eyes
@@erebus1010being cringe isn't a bad thing. Literally every single person on this planet ever, including you, has been cringe. It's just a part of life. Not bad at all, you may be embarrassed about it but how does being cringe affect anyone else? it doesn't. It's not bad at all.
I don’t know about that one, you forget before any of the allegations he was infamous for his toxic fanbase that he pretty much encouraged
@@cantthinkofaname5046 Yeah there's no denying the fact that he doesn't know how to handle the "crazed stans" side of his fanbase
In the eyes of the internet, being cringe is the worst crime you can possibly commit.
As a survivor im happy to see his name be cleared, this was a horrible situation all around
I dont really like him but if the allegations are false i feel bad for dream
I hope he sues them and that owner of the burner account
@@Hobo-Fushiguro I get why you'd say that but logically trying to sue everyone who reported false allegations online to him wouldn't really be possible with the sheer amount of it and even if he could afford it the time these proceedings would take before they even get to court would take so many years. I mean maybe if he just goes to sue the burner account, but yeah even then it's kind of a bad image to focus down just one person even if he's in the right which from this video I can believe him, but public opinion would be even worse (if that's possible) and maybe that won't change much but dude's still a human being so eventually this hate will prob break him mentally. idk
@@adamw3774 What? There's only like 3 or 4 people he's going to sue, and it's exactly what many people agree with and said he should do, and it is what he should do as it sets a precedent and delivers justice to these people and shows the consequences of their actions; that won't taint his image especially after he's proved his innocence.
Love how open and genuine Oompa can be, when facing big creators, truly a honest guy, massive respect
Yeah but it can also backfire as he basically openly said he hates when people try to say no matter what people think I am happy being me

@@Bruh_Moment.. oompa basically said he didn't like people who would say they are worth it to themselves but okay
@@shadowfan115 why are you saying "but okay" all I said was huh
My 14yo nephew shared a Charlie video to me, that's how I found him, Charlie's fan base is not exclusively old dudes.
i’m going to admit, i feel immature for hating so much on dream. i even commented on his video saying “everyone switching up is crazy” and yes it’s true but i was acting like it was a bad thing. but really he’s just a guy trying to live his life, i’ve had rumors spread about me and it ruined my life. i was in a horrible state, so i can’t imagine how he’s feeling. i will say im not 100% on his side now tho.
so you literally had your life ruined and still had the gall to do that to someone? shame on you bro.
I hate on dream, I just don't claim it's some moral crusade or something. He's cringe, but that's honestly probably it.
Thank you for actually looking at the other side and changing your opinion. It seems few people nowadays will look at the other side, it shows you have grown so thank you
@@WritingNomad-PLwell, at least they are willing to listen to what others have to say, I have seen A LOT of people once heard about an accusation will always believe that accusation and chose not to listen to what others said
Yeah a lot of people can’t think for themselves which is crazy. Even before dream posted that video I was still like innocent before proven guilty. Your messing with another humans life because you don’t like him.
If this ever happened to me I don’t think i would be able to handle it and I’d probably just quit the internet and move dream is seriously a strong willed person huge respect to him

At some point during the controversy, a lot of Twitter users just found Dream's situation as a clout chasing opportunity, so when his response dropped, suddenly people are either silent or doubled down on the claims. I don't like Dream, I don't like his fanbase, but when I see pure Twitter brainrot, I will laugh at its clownery.
3 things his guilty of:
1) Being Cringe. The ultimate crime, worst then any other crime. Cringe is awful.
2) Using Twitter. Honestly, your just asking for trouble if you constantly use it.
3)Cultivating an audience of cringe Kids who are either 12 to 18, the worst kind of kids.
The worst part is the people that hate on dream and acuse him of such serious stuff, are the same that look at the video dream posted, see it’s over an hour long and just respond with: “I ain’t listening to all that yapping”
…….excuse me? You are making accusations about someone that could possibly destroy their entire lives and when they respond with evidence against it, you ignore it.
That is not how that works and truly shows that Twitter has just a bunch of absolute braindead, terminally online idiots without a personality, who have to base their lives on hating popular people and try to get “famous”.
Dream looked like Shane and everyone basically just hated him for it.
I don’t like Dream, I think he’s cringe. But, he doesn’t deserve the hate he is getting if these allegations aren’t true.
Honestly it would even be easy to argue that he has been treated *worse* than an actually-confirmed guilty predator would.
oompaville, i.. cant… *breathe* when you’re not there
