T-Bo being the interviewer for this clearly set up quality control apology to try to minimize Dan Schneider's career falloff is so disappointing considered he was such a beloved character on ICarly
People are talking about both everywhere I've seen. Dan Schneider IS a villain. For everything from ruining talented women's careers, humiliating them in front of male coworkers, not paying them like he paid the males. Making women busy with various jobs on set stop their work day to massage him. Harassing other employees in different ways. Creating an incredibly hostile work place where everyone's afraid to speak up, that led to weirdos like Peck even be there undetected. All the way to putting children in these scenes. He's the source. None of this would have happened in a normal environment where anyone looked out for these little actors.
Please boost this. Drake Bell was entirely unaware that the person he was talking to was a minor. She lied about her age and Drake was under the impression she was of age. The court even acknowledged this fact during proceedings. Drakes conviction is not uncommon, there has been countless instances of this same conviction where someone was convicted and charged for soliciting a minor or likewise when in reality they were entirely unaware the ‘victim’ was a minor but the law is the law, and the law always throws the book at whoever it’s easier to throw it at.
@@nman551 it doesn't. You are correct. He admitted to having talked to a minor. But the difference between him and an actual predator would be the fact that he stopped when he found out age.
After growing up and maturing, having my own family, I just assumed there was a lot of disturbing things going on behind closed doors. Anything involving making money off of children always turns into something weird and horrible. I think there should be more accountability in that industry.
I feel like there should be this thing that’s a Union for Actors under 18. Whatever should we call it I wonder? Perhaps there’s something in the land that has blue and red lights, white with black inscriptions decreed upon it, along with a place to hold these people who break the rules of governance in the land. Who ever will help us?
very true, when the actors talk about the incident they get ridiculed, saying they are over reacting and just have to get over it, and they were either lucky to even be able to get in a TV show, the parents should be ashamed and held accountable for the trauma they caused there children to experience
I dont think apologizing in this matter will work in any way, since he still got millions by essentially doing softcore CP with the outtakes and whatever went on behind the scenes. I also dont believe him saying he wouldnt do it today. He is just sorry he got finally the karma club to the kneecaps
whenever an apology is directed at "anybody", you know the person saying it doesnt mean it. "anybody" leaves room for there to be NOBODY who was hurt. its like "sorry you felt that way"
I didn't think there was a beard that was obviously a PDF File beard, until I saw that thing on Dan Schneider's face. That is definitely a PDF file beard.
I think he's transformed into a Goat man and contracted Hoof in mouth disease... I agree with you, I've never seen a beard like that.. It's a crime against humanity
28:57 No, he should not try and make contact with them, even to apologize. As someone who was abused, I would HATE to get a phone call from my abuser years after I've moved on. If they want an apology they'll open a line of contact themselves.
So here's what I've heard about Drake's controversy with that minor: Yes, he pled guilty and did his time, but that girl had lied to him about her age. When he found out how old she really was, he cut off all contact, then she turned around and threatened him. She was a stalker, claimed there were photos (and the photos have never been found), and even her own family members have stated that she's lying.
honestly, whether drake was a predator or not in no way invalidates the fact that he was a victim, too. theres a lot of social pressure for victims to be and behave a certain way, but the reality is never that perfect. id be very happy if drake wasnt taking advantage of that girl, obviously, but either way what happened to him as a child is criminal and evil.
@Saibellus I agree; I'm just pointing out that there is more to the controversy than meets the eye. There's a reason he was charged with child endangerment and not "inappropriate actions with a minor." There is a difference.
There are so many kids whose families would readily say they're lying. I'll never believe he wasn't knowingly inappropriate. Of course he would accept the narrative that it was a lie to make the story go away. I have tons of sympathy for him growing up. But I have my doubts about him as an adult.
You need to look into what “he did” that girl lied about her age, he stopped contact and the police seized their phones and could find no photo evidence or anything. Even the girls own aunt says that she is lying.
Drakes guilty plea is actually deeper, the girl lied about her age and his lawyer told him taking a guilty charge avoided court and more time with his son
All this, with Dan, and Nickelodeon is majorly disappointing, like a lot of folks that WAS my childhood, I grew up IDOLIZING these kids, thinking they had to have the BEST lives... Ahhh, Real Monsters indeed...
Brandis mother could’ve prevented Jason from preying on the other girl mentioned from the incident at her house. She could’ve prevented the victimization of more children but was too concerned about her image.

None of this is news; rumors about Dan have been around online for at least a decade now. His apology is so rehearsed and insincere. He knew this day was coming for a very long time. While it is nice to see that this is finally getting some attention, it's a shame that it took so long because so much of the evidence has been there all along.

There should be a Disney version! Disney kids have been messed up by the system since the 50s
Disney was trash in the 50s however in the 2000s-2010s Disney did do a better job protecting their actors than Nickelodeon did. I know there were some actresses who also had bad exprieicnes but no one was being sexually abused on set.
@Saibellus Imo you lose all sympathy for what happened to you when you make make another child a victim in the same way.

Dan "I'm sorry i got caught" Schneider
Dan “Hold her tighter, She’s a fighter” Schneider
I’m actually soo glad oompy is covering this because I am way too lazy to do my own research or form my own opinion or even think for myself really 👍
i re-watch your videos while I'm high, been doing this for years, thanks man.
I'm off da goop
real asf me too
I remember the casting calls I saw on the Nickelodeon website and I asked my mom if I could go to the camp they were having (I was younger than 10) and she told me no. I’m glad she said that bc I heard about those coaching camps children were left alone with Dan and his crew and assaulted so many children.
I heard the Nick foot logo was there before Dan came along but also was for the animation side so really it was an unfortunate coincidence
“Cut it if it makes people uncomfortable”
Thats actually victim blaming lol.
Thats him saying “if you guys had just told me that it made you uncomfortable I would stop!!”
(Rich coming from a guy with insane anger issues who would easily fire people..)
It’s 100% on him to not put in gross jokes. Its not up to the audience to feel uncomfortable and report it.
7:20 "Name one funny female writer" Lucile Ball, Rumiko Takahashi, etc.
I wish you would’ve done a little more research into the Drake Bell case
Two pints of ice cream in 30 minutes? Bro that’s easy mode
