Great video! Finally got the information I needed! Set humidity at 55 degrees when having some trays incubating while others are on lockdown! Thanks! So for three days of lockdown and two days of hatching you recommend at least a whole week apart from batches?
I’m rather new to incubation. I have a sportsman 1502 and have peacock and pheasant eggs in it right now. I did not place the pheasant eggs pointy end down. They are in the upright position. This batch is going on day 4... will they still hatch? Is it too late for me to turn them to pointed end down? Thank you for this video! The instructions that came with the machine were fairly vague!
you will want to put clean eggs in the incubator however do not wash them. Washing removes the protective coating on the egg and will let bacteria in. If an egg is grossly soiled take a barely damp cloth and get as much off as possible.
This is the first time using my GQF incubator and I have eggs scheduled to hatch this coming Monday. Do you leave your incubator in manual mode during the lock down process?
if you are referring to the turner operation we leave it on auto if there are more eggs incubating. We use the auto humidifier bucket at all times. Temp in a constant setting.
Homestead Evolution thanks for your response. All the eggs were set at the same time so I put the incubator in manual mode when I went in to lockdown yesterday morning. I added one wick and the humidity went up from 50 percent to 72. They were scheduled to hatch tomorrow but there already hatching this morning...this incubator is awesome. Thanks for all the info.
Do you have hard water. Sometimes we have to take it out and flush the hose. Also may have to take float apart and soak them in vinegar to remove any build up. We usually do that 2 times per year
@@homesteadevolution not sure what you mean by hard water? And the system is brand new so I’m not sure what I am doing wrong, not sure if the float needs some kind of adjustment?

Not necessarily you just need to space your sets so you want be opening the incubator during the lockdown and hatching period

At this point I would say that you should leave them alone and hope for the best.
What set trays do you use for jumbo cortunix quail eggs
We use the pheasant trays as our eggs are to large for the quail trays

How do you change the timer for turn rate to 2hrs
We have never had the need to change the turner time so I'm sorry I can not answer that question.

In lock down how do u leave ure vents
hello, we leave one vent in the front and one in the back open at all times with no adjustment.
I have one as same but the temperture is at 72 and incrises to 75 how do i get i to 45 how do i dicriset

45% - 55% for the 1st 18 days and 55% - 65% during lock down
