Thanks for the content Floyd, I be been looking at this incubator so this was helpful. The white scaly stuff is minerals that are in your tap water that don’t evaporate with the water. Distilled water is evaporated then re-condensed without the minerals that were left behind when evaporated. If you ever get that scaly stuff - it happens in a kettle for example - it can be removed with hot vinegar or CLR… stuff that will dissolve it. Another commenter mentioned orange slimy stuff. That’s not sulphur but may smell like it. It is iron bacteria that thrives in water with high iron content (now, you could have sulphur as well). The bacteria produce a gas that smells like sulphur. My well has high iron, and inside our toilet tanks would be slimy orange coating everywhere below waterline. We fixed this with an oxygenated water filter, a two-tank system, one infuses the water with air to oxidize or “rust” the iron in the water so that the filter media in the next tank can trap it. No food for the bacteria, no orange slime, and no sulphur-like smell. Thanks again for the video.
If it was like grimy, slimy stuff that came from the tap water then it was probably sulfur. We get it in our water and it turns everything orange. Even our clothes. And it is so slimy once it settles
One can fix spay legged chickens. Non stretchy bandaid small strip pull legs in to were they should be, curled toes sandwich between blue tape. Only takes 1 to 2 days. No need to cull
