We begin our journey with “Evil” Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang after a robbery goes horribly wrong causing them to have to flee from the western town of Blackwater with federal agents and the best hunters eager to collect the bounty on their heads. The gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the heartland of America in order to survive, but as each day passes dissension within the ranks begin to tear them apart. Our protagonist will eventually have to make a choice between his own ideals and his loyalty to the gang who raised him. Will he choose the path of least resistance or strike a fatal blow?

I wouldn’t call return for the money badass. It’s just greed, and retribution. Arthur fighting off the pinkertons by himself up on the mountain and beating the tar out Micah despite his tb is looks equally badass as him going after the money.
No matter what ending I'll say making a last stand, killing pinkertons on a mountain and having a fist fight is a bit more badass for my taste.

In the beginning of the game Micah says he looks up to Arthur. He Watches all of Arthur's decisions so when you have a high honor Arthur he doesn't kill Arthur but if you have a low honor Arthur Micah can justify killing Arthur to himself because he sees Arthur as just as bad as he is. You can actually see a little bit of remorse in Micah when he stabs Arthur and he says" oh shit look what I gone and done"
He said that out of sarcasm 😂
He does has some remorse. I think he genuinely thinks Arthur is the one who started the downward spiral, doubting dutch. He has a giant ego. When dutch walks away, you can hear the fear and awe turning into hate.
@Young Thug Leak Station Well that's because Arthur shat on Micah's big ego by saying that even if Micah kills him, Micah still lost in the end.

Say what you will but we can agree the low honour money ending has the best dialogue. You can see Arthur's emotions much clearer here. He's trying to make Dutch guilty and realize what he'd done, and showing all the hate he had for Micah. That one line especially hits hard, "Not Molly, Dutch. Him! Kill him. Not Molly, not Miss Grimshaw. Not even Colm." Really puts the point on how crazy Dutch was at this point. Not even his biggest enemy, Colm O'Driscoll, would even do shit like he did. This ending is wayy better than helping john (no matter the honor)
-You go to kill micah intentionally (arthur says he's been waiting for this early in fight)
- The knife fight scene with the whole camp burning around literally feels as if we are fighting in hell and dragging our enemy rather than fighting with fists at night on a mountain
-Arthur slices micahs eye and bites his hand , and in epilogue micah has one eye (damn i love that micah spent almost 8 year without an eye and everytime he remembers why he lost he remembers arthur)
-Arthur doesn't look like a sad helpless guy who barely able to speak/ (after dutch came in other route , he could barely speak like "oh dutch" or 'john made it')
-Dutch tells/requests to stop fight you can he has that regret expression here from the start resulting that arthurs action and words impacted more , rather than stepping on a gun and ordering
- Arthur works as a distraction for john as he leads pinkertons ,micah and other to beaver hollow or to him as he charges forward like a gladiator , and john can protect himself he has deadeye and the pinkertons will be after us that way.
- If you think this is about money then you are completely wrong , sure arthur wanted money to give to john since he will die but he wanted Micah to have his own taste of medicine after him manipulating dutch , mocking him and being an asshole.
- The soundtrack when you make this choice and Arthur says "dutch , micah come and get me you bastards" implies that arthur knows dutch is beyond the point of saving and why he wants to finish the job not for himself but for everyone who helped him and died on the way
Extra space I really like how arthur screamed "Not molly dutch" "him" "HIM!! " and proceeds to say micah is dead from inside since he practically lost dutch and all , so yeah I prefer this one rather than other one

@Riley MacDonald thanks i appreciate now where is my sister!?!?
@@hulkbelowall9532 i know jason is better than me but I'm more evil
The music that plays with the low honour going for money ending is so cool. It fits the scene so well and I wish it was in the high honour version. It perfectly captures Dutch’s final moment of somewhat realisation when he realises he has chosen some untrustworthy rat over a man he saw as his son for 20 odd years. Brilliant score!
I never understood why the music was omitted from the high honor ending.
Arthur: * exists *
Every single living thing: * shoots arthur *
Arthur: ouch
Arthur: * get stabbed during a cutscene *
Also arthur: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
WE JUST NEED MONEY ARTHUR
Do you have a plan?
He thrusted and twisted the knife though.
I imagined the Snake death yell
Dutch Van Der Linde Jesus Dutch have some GODDAMN FAITH
If Thomas Downes did not owe money this would not have happened 🙁
True.
TB changed Arthur if it wasn't for that he'd be selfish
Oh yeah Oh yeah
@@youknowmyswagnotmystory9319 fuck off
If Arthur didn’t get tb he would’ve kicked Micah’s ass
Dutch was about to cry right there. He did care about Arthur, he just realized far too late
Low Honir Or High Honor
The thing is even If Arthur was still sick if he wasnt so beat up by this point he would still have killed micha
Micah: **Shoots miss Grimshaw, rats on everybody, stabs Arthur in the heart**
Dutch: *in disappointed dad tone:* _„Oh Micah, you fool.“_
I fuckin hate dutch more than i hated micah
Dutch: thinks Arthur and John betrayed him
cOmInO YESSSSSSSSSS SAME HERE
Dutch is just SOOOO fucking USELESS in both endings, he literally just walks away still knowing that Micah was the one who destroyed his gang
4:25 when Dutch slowly looked at Micah, I thought for a second that Dutch would have killed Micah. And said sorry to Arthur just before he died. And the reason why he went mad, is because he lost someone who felt more like a son then anyone else. And he blames himself for the death of Arthur, therefore he went insane.
He lost Hosea too.. That's when he got insane.. He knew that he was alone in keeping the gang safe and that was a difficult thing for him.. So he started doubting his friend who knew so many years and started trusting the one knowing only months just because he promised him glory and money..
Joe
I was talking about him full on going mad in rdr1, but that was a huge factor in it.
@@footballnotsoccermrn1186 Oh yeah.. I suppose that was the outcome from losing all of his friends-family (well I'm pretty sure back in rdr 1 times rockstar didn't think for the future rdr2 so we can say that losing all of them made him insane 😅)
The reason he originally started to go insane was because of all the people he lost. Hosea, lenny, and more. I feel like he was perfectly sane when he brought the gang to get Jack. That was one of the best moments ever.
Dutch was insane even before Arthur died.
I go back for the money, with high honor, because I feel like it's Arthur finally doing something for himself. It's not at all about the money, but my boy getting a proper death battling it out surrounded by fire and giving Micah a permanent reminder of Arthur by taking his eye. And I love the symbolism of him battling "in hell" with the fire then entering heaven as he dies with morning sun shining down on him.
Miss you Louis, its been more than 2 years and you still was the best horse in all my playthroughs. 2018 - 2019
It would have been great if instead of saying "Return for the money" said "Revenge", because they remember Arthur's phrase: "Revenge is a game for fools" at that time the player would have to remember it to do the other way, the which is much better and is where he would achieve redemption (sorry if my English is bad, I don't speak English usually :c)
English is fine, agree with you. But Arthur also achieves redemption by helping john
I think it should of said hold micah off then more people may have gone for this ending (oh mate your english is fine)
bud your English is great
You've better English than a lot of native speakers I know.
@@alexkhaid agreed, there’s no logical reason for Arthur to return for money since John refused the idea and even revenge feels like a pretty poor motive after Arthur’s transformation as a character (assuming the game is played as intended)
Low honour: Wolf/coyote
High honour: Deer/Buck
Low honour is more iffy because it could be a wolf or a black coyote but high honour is definitely a buck
Max high honor I'm pretty sure is a eagle
SahgamerZ nah, it isn’t. I dont think you even see the eagle at the honor scenes, [S P O I L E R A L S O] if arthurs honor was in the middle, he probably would’ve gotten a gravestone but instead of a wolf/coyote or a buck, it would be an eagle

One thing I like about this ending is when Dutch walks back to camp, everything is on fire and burning. Which imo means Dutch is officially gone and has lost everything. The fire burning the camp down to me represents the old Dutch being burned away and finally losing himself to his madness. His son is dying in front of him while telling him the truth that the man who’s been sucking up to him never gave a shit about him or the gang. And soon Bill and Javier will also leave him. Everything Dutch ever built and made is now burned away because of his own actions. His world is gone.
They already ran off. While chasing John and Arthur only cleet, joe, and Micah are with Dutch
When I heard him say "thank you" to the horse the first time i shed a tear such a good horse
The way Arthur rises his voice at 8:04 gave me chills when I first played this ending

2. *_I tried to shoot Mr.Downes and it wont let me_*
lol, I DO love what you are trying to do. Can I tell you, I actually tried doing things like that just to see if I can break the sequence too.

While the High Honor Save John is my Head Canon ending, it also makes the most sense story wise. The game is about Arthur starting off as an outlaw, a cold crook. As the game progresses, and really in about chapter 4, he slowly starts to realize what life he’s lived, and when he becomes noticeably sick, he starts to attempt to right his wrongs. He doesn’t want forgiveness, he wants redemption. He redeems himself by knowing that the money is no good to him, and that he will die peacefully knowing that he helped John live. He is Redeemed.
I feel like a part of me died with Arthur. I’ve never felt anything like this towards any fictional character in my entire life. Arthur... you did your worst... you tried your best... now it’s time to rest. And rest easy. You got your Redemption.
Saaame, i kept crying for like 3 days straight when i remembered the ‘Thats the way It is’ scene and when Arthur says he was afraid. Really sad indeed
best protagonist ever
because all you've read in your life was YA novels and y/n
Foxtrot Mike Lima what the fuck is a YA novel?
Foxtrot Mike Lima wtf are you talking about you extra chromosomed idiot
Low Honor: You lose and get killed by Micah.
High Honor: You kick Micah's ass and die Peacefully.
Personally I preferred the go John Marston ending but this was another great ending option. :)
I had low and it seriously made me mad 😂😂 It kinda made killing Micha as John a lot sweeter tbh 😂
Which is bullshit because low honor Arthur is a bad ass and should stomp Micah's teeth in
Tbh the only logical ending is to help John imo
Technically Arthur won in my opinion because his main goal the whole time was to get John And his family to safety and he accomplished that goal, I think it doesn't matter if you have low or high honor.
@@gutsngonads661 Not really, the game is pretty much saying with high honor the effects of tuburcolosis are less (which you can see in some cutscenes)
Imagine fighting a man literally in the process of currently dying to tuberculosis, he's literally crippled, and has been fighting all night, and you can still barely keep up with him.
Nothing made me cry more than this game, an absolute masterpiece

Did you know?
Somewhere in HorseShoe Overlook Hosea, Charles and some others i think had a conversation and asked Arthur something, i dont know what they said but his answer was this:
"Face me to the setting sun so i can remember all the happy times we had together."
If you choose to help Johnnand have high honor, when he dies, he watches the setting sun! What a beautifull masterpiece, i played the game and its amazing
Hmm, I wasn't aware that Hosea, Charles & Arthur had such a conversation. Do you remember if it was at night near the fire when they said that?
@@ChengTeoh No, it was at that round table (im not sure if it was round) next to Dutch's tent and Pearson's butcher table. It was day when they had it.
Im also not really sure if Charles was there, but i know 100% that Hosea was there.
Edit: Tilly and Lenny were there
Edit 2: It was still a bit light but night begun to rise. Also the table wasnt round, its just like any other dining table.
The table right infront of Pearson's butcher
he watches a sunrise at his death lol
It's the rising sun but ok
he dies watching the sun rise. but his grave is facing the sun set.

Micah: gets slashed 4 times
Also micah: is that all you got black lung?!
I know right.
Ikr, I'm like bro, he slit your throat 3 times in a row. Though, when John shoots him in the epilogue, he walks off 6 shots to the face a few seconds.
I don't even know why they let us fight it out. I would destroy micah if he wasn't in God mode.
@Ace Saylor I mean why didn't they just make it a cutscene I liked fighting himbut I preferred it to be a cutscene.
@Vermin Supreme and uncle
Whenever that ending song starts, I still get goosebumps and immediately start crying. And I’ve seen this so often now.
On a side note , I love how Micah gets his face cut in half and loses an eye but can talk to Dutch like nothing happened, not a hint of pain in his voice, no trying to stop the bleeding. No nothing
What made it even more sad is that I had buell, the veterans horse when this happened, so it was like he was thanking the horse, and the Ol Hamish.
The exact same thing happened to me. I needed to get a Dutch warmblood to bonding level 4, so I was riding around with Buell.
Just finished the story and had Buell for the last side and main missions. Meant a lot more to see Buell lying there instead of any other horse
Same it was sad
yeah same, that's probably the most meaningful horse to have with you on that mission.
I hade the same horse and I felt like I failed hamish when buell died

That's one cool teacher.
My 9th grade math teacher played it, someone asked if he had a PS4 he said yes, then I asked him what's his favorite game, and he said rdr2. and basically the entire class was just talking to him about. It for 20 minutes. It's a good way to get out of doing calculus
Why not it is the best game I’ve ever played

I never saw it as Arthur returning for the money. I saw it as him taking revenge for the death of his family and meeting his death head-on.
And he still technically helped John get away. The pinkertons would've been largely focused on Arthur.
“Let’s get the scarred one- WAIT HOLY SHIT ITS THR COUGHING ONE WE GOTTA KILL HIM!”

After these scenes I knew that dutch is blinded by whom is the liar , I mean come on arthur was loyal for 20 years
Because Arthur and John started doubting in him.
Micah told Dutch what he *wanted* to hear, and Arthur and John told Dutch what he *needed* to hear.
And Dutch said: *"Who is with ME, and who is betraying ME?"* instead of saying *"Who is with the GANG, and who betraying the GANG?"*
I know John kills Micah but I want a zombie Arthur to absolutely beat the shit out of Micah in a possible non canon dlc

Yeah that dialogue stands out to me in this ending definitely, I just wish it was a way we could know what was going through Dutch’s head then
@@Melly_Wayy Its obviously he realized he fucked up.
@@EricToTheScionti it seems that arthur wakes dutch up from his fantasy where everything in his head is a game, micah had been slowly turning everything into a game for dutch, boosting his ego and making dutch believe he is essentially an incredible mastermind, arthur calling micah out to his dying breath and truly realising that arthur is dying shatters the fantasy and truly drives him mad but also makes him realise he is nothing more than a bandit running from the law, and every plan he made was set up in a way to play off of his prideful nature and arrogance to keep failing and getting people to die. micah drummed up a hatred for john and arthur to fuel his egotistical mindset as he probably believed they just didn't understand how great he thought he was which kept his mind away from questioning micah since he only sucked up to dutch and played on his weakness of being afraid of being isolated after molly left him. dutch was probably dragged into arthur's pace at that point since he was the only person after shady belle to be able to speak to him and get through to him that wasn't planting ideas in his head and was talking realistically. before he could just blow it all off as people being small minded and high strung, at that point arthur didn't beg to live or ever asked for help so he got through to dutch, abliet at the cost of his life and far too late. it's also why i think dutch ditches the savings in the epilogue and just lets john take it, arthur shattered his fantasy and he no longer had an attachment to the money or his dreams, dutch realised he had let everything slip and did it willingly, he no longer has the family he would die for so he knows the money is meaningless and he also knows he had just killed his family by branding people as traitors and being unwilling to let people go since it would damage his ego.
Dutch is a bitch for letting Micah live i would've hated him less if he killed him.
Its verh crude
When Arthur says “I also wanted you!” Is so badass.
Wow, both scenes are so good. First time ever seeing these, 1 of the greatest stories ever told
I just realized that on the mountain John said too Dutch "Why are you here?" and Dutch said "Same as you I suppose." meaning that dutch played micah and joined back with him just too kill him when john came.
