We begin our journey with “Evil” Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang after a robbery goes horribly wrong causing them to have to flee from the western town of Blackwater with federal agents and the best hunters eager to collect the bounty on their heads. The gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the heartland of America in order to survive, but as each day passes dissension within the ranks begin to tear them apart. Our protagonist will eventually have to make a choice between his own ideals and his loyalty to the gang who raised him. Will he choose the path of least resistance or strike a fatal blow?
Red Dead Redemption 2 is an upcoming Western-themed action-adventure video game developed and published by Rockstar Games. It is scheduled to be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 26, 2018. The game is a prequel to the 2010 game Red Dead Redemption, and will be the third entry in the Red Dead series. I Just cried the whole mission. Sad to see Sadie and Abigail go with the sad faces. Hard to see the good fellow horse die (thank you just broke my heart). Then, to finish me off, Arthur see his frirnd leaving him and then stop breathing. Such a sad, sad ending. :'(

There needs to be an ending where you reach the gun and kill Micah, and so the finale is basically John and Dutch facing off, with Dutch abandoning all the treasure like he does when he shoots Micah.
Although Micah is a hated character you gotta admit the actor did a really convincing job

I managed to get the good honour ending. Luckily through the game I was pretty neutral right up until I got the diagnosis then I want hard on the honourable route. I'm really glad I did.

The low honor kind of got me, as he says damn us both, it was a strong feeling
I intentionally make myself sadder by thinking that Arthur is watching the sun rise on January first, 1900.
It's somewhere between September and November of 1899 by the time he dies but that would be really symbolic and impactful if he died as the new century turned, really showing that the "age of outlaws" has passed.

I think the reason Micah kills you in both low honor endings is he's afraid of Morgan and wants to be absolutely sure he's dead. Low honor Morgan can either be a real terror or at best very unpredictably violent. Where as High honor Morgan is less threat and more an obstruction, he probably saw Morgan as weak for being a good man. So he didn't kill you in the high honor endings because you weren't worth the effort in his mind.

The reason why Micah killed Arthur in the Low Honor endings is probably because Micah wasn't scared of Arthur. I mean, have you relaized that Micah is stronger in Low Honor ending, but is weaker on High Honor endings? He beats Arthur up in Low Honor ending, and I think thats why he killed him after Dutch left; He just wasn't afraid of Arthur.
In High Honor ending however, Micah is very weak and you can easily beat the living crap out of him. Micah is scared of Arthur after he beats him up pretty good in High Honor endings, and thats why Micah left; He was scared of Arthur.

Damn.. Dutch look so broken here. He's one of the best-written videogame villain apart from Gaunter O'Dim, he's complex but also somehow easy to read, that's why Micah is able to manipulate him.
In the end, no matter what a horrible and rotten person he has become, the sight of Arthur who lay dying is enough to bring enough sanity to surface within him (even if it's too late now) No matter how low he fall, he wasn't able to kill John, even if he easily could, and finally choosing to end his own life instead. In the end, no matter what monster he become, there's still love for the two boys he raised deep inside. He's also an example of how much an Ego can ruin a person, even if that person start out good.
CaptainDashund Finally someone who can see that Dutch was in fact a tragic hero who has fallen. He always tried to do the good thing, help people, he wanted to be good, but in the end he couldn't, and that's what makes him one of the most tragic characters ever made. He was trying to save his "Familly", but instead he destroyed it, and caused the death of his Brother (Hosea) and his son (Arthur). i can't imagine how he felt for ALL the years he spent alone after witnessing Arthur last moments.
Those that really believe he was a monster didn't really pay attention to the story and to Dutch development.
He is probably one of the best characters of the game, losing only to Arthur.

Arthur getting shot in the head point blank was hard to watch, but honestly that ending makes the most sense for Micah's character, he's a piece of shit so of course he would shoot him instead of just walking away. It just makes more sense for his character and this is the canon ending for me.

True. Micah was always a coward. He always hid behind his duel wield revolvers. Hence why he attacked Arthur from behind. He knew Arthur would’ve shot him if he attacked from in front of Arthur. So he went behind him. The other thing to note is, when Micah attacks Arthur during the gunfight with the Pinkertons, they all just stop shooting and let Micah “finish off” Arthur. If Micah wasn’t a rat, the Pinkertons would’ve just kept shooting them. However, since Micah was a rat, the Pinkertons stopped trying to kill Arthur and went to find Dutch. Hence why you can hear a Pinkerton say “Up there, on the ridge!” That Pinkerton wasn’t talking about Arthur and Micah. He was talking about Dutch.

Here's my personal take on the ending.
True high honor: saving john, dying peacefully while watching the sun rise
True low honor: going back for the money, getting killed by micah after thr knife battle
Mountain ending: Micah shoots Arthur in the head because the whole point he went up there is to kill off Arthur. No loose ends.
Money ending: Micah leaves with the money but also leaves with only one eye because the only reason Micah would have went back to camp is for the money.
Mountain ending: low honor
Return for the money: high honor.
I like your take too, just wanted to voice my thoughts as well.

There should be like a "secret ending" where they leave him to die but john rescues him, and months later arthur help john to build his house (the one near blackwater) and after you complete the epilogue Arthur dies by tuberculosis in his bed.

When RDR2 was officially announced and when they announced a new protagonist, I thought I'd never love and connect with another character in the series as much as I did John.

Same, I remember being happy to play as John my first way through, as I kind of power rushed through the first time. The second time I played, I immediately noticed it felt relieving to be Arthur once more. I took my time with that playthrough and did everything I possibly could, amazed at how much I had failed or missed doing the first time. It was almost like a new game and that's when Arthur really grew on me.
Getting John to Safety in High Honour is the most Canon Ending in RDR2. it just feels right.

There should’ve been a secret ending hear me out.
If you didn’t beat Thomas downes but threatened him instead the whole time he never spits on you therefore never giving you tb. You have to do all the Mary Linton side quests do that their relationship develops more. Donate to the saint denis charity when the option comes out. And do all of Hamish Sinclair’s quests to get Buell and max out your honor.
You have to choose to help John of course and not go for the money. Then when shit finally hits the fan in the final mission it plays out the same way as normally but one difference, Mary finds Arthur at the top of the mountain nearly dying from the cold and the battle with Micah (don’t ask me how I just really wanted it to happen) and takes him to a saint denis hospital. In the epilogue you still play as John because everyone thinks Arthur’s dead and the events mostly play out the same with a few dialogue changes.
but in the final cutscene of the game, there’s one final photo of Mary and Arthur living happily in Hamish’s cabin. Then when the credits ends, (only if you get 100%) Arthur is standing over johns grave as the date skips from 1907 to the end of 1911and Arthur says “you tried kid, we both did”. Then you get to play as Arthur again.
I just think something that worked out similarly to these would’ve been the perfect ending to Arthur.

There’s a few flaws with this. Arthur would’ve killed Micah within 5 punches on the mountain if he didn’t have Tuberculosis. How would Mary-Linton know Arthur was on the top of a mountain, about to die from the cold? And what if you were wearing The Winter Gunslinger outfit? It would look weird if Arthur was shivering in the freezing cold but he was wearing that heavy coat. But back to Mary-Linton. He would’ve told her Arthur was fighting Micah on top of a mountain, about to die from the weather conditions? Pretty sure the only person in the gang he knows about Arthur’s relationship with Mary-Linton is ironically, Mary-Beth. And obviously Mary-Beth doesn’t know Arthur is on top of a mountain because she ran away with Pearson before the mission Our Best Selves. And if Arthur was alive at the end of 1911, then he most likely helped John run his Ranch along with Mary-Linton, possibly having a medium-sized cottage on the Ranch where they would stay. Then, when the B.O.I and the U.S. Military assault Beecher’s Hope, Arthur and Mary-Linton silently escape the Ranch, with Arthur wishing he could’ve helped Marston. Then, months later in 1912, Arthur and Mary-Linton visit John’s grave with Jack Marston, now taking care of him instead of letting him become an orphan. Then, in 1914, Arthur, Mary-Linton, and Jack Marston return to Beecher’s Hope with the hopes of returning it to the ranch that they remember. They succeed and they live happily ever after in the Ranch until he late 1910’s when Arthur dies of old age, leaving Mary-Linton to support Jack as a step-mom until she dies sometime in the 1920’s from old age as well. Jack Marston lives a normal life starting his own family, occasionally visiting Arthur, Mary-Linton, John, and Abigail until he dies sometime in the 1950’s.

As much as the high honor ending gave me some comforting peace. The low honor option makes most sense due to all the hostility that's been built up between them, but it would be better if he spat on micah just before he got shot.
Arthur spat on Micah during the fist fight. And I know you’re gonna ask me, “Well, if Arthur spat on him why is he still alive in 1907?” Tuberculosis won’t always kill a person within a few months of getting it. For some people, it took years to succumb to Tuberculosis. Others, eventhough they got it, they never felt the symptoms of it and never succumbed to it. So I guess you could say it’s the disease’s decision if you die or not. In Arthur’s case, it decided to kill him.

icecream4you he’s saying tb varies with a person, not because of the cure, but if you get it, you could die in a month, where if your friend gets it, he could die of natural causes, or your other friend could die in years
My aunt got tb and got treatment. And the doctor told arthur what to do if he wanted to live

The only thing I don't like about these endings is it's quite improbable micah and Dutch could come from that direction based on the gameplay and previous cutscene leading to this point. But I forgive all because of how heartbreaking it was to see MY HORSE and MY ARTHUR die. GOTY

I always cry when Arthur says, “I gave you all I had.” Because he did. He gave his all to the gang no matter what state it was in. Even when Arthur was betrayed he was still giving all he had.
I feel like even if the high honor ending is the canon ending, the low honor ending makes more sense because there's no way Micah would have just turned around and left Arthur there instead of killing him himself
I can't help but like this ending best. I remember in the first Red Dead there was that line of "Everyone will pay eventually for what they've done" and this ending feels like a perfect example of that message. The life of an outlaw is never glamorous and your sins will always catch up to you in the end. Plus, it's very in the spirit of the wild west for the infamous Arthur Morgan's end to be found at the end of his fellow outlaw's gun.

it's actually a random thing, i had the high honor ending and Dutch appeared without one of his guns too.
It's like with his Hat, some people had endings where he appears with Hats on, and endings where he is without it.
I personally preffer when Dutch appear without one gun and without his Hat, because this makes more sense since he was in a firefight with an army of pinkertons to get up the mountain.
When Arthur gives his hat to John in the low honor version, it feels so out of place compared to high honor.
It's because the voice over sounds different.
It should've been more along the lines of
"Now go on. I got some lawmen to kill."

Okay I don’t care what people say about me but I’ve never cried so hard in my life playing this game. My honour was literally the highest it could be. I always saw the buck whenever he had his like surreal moments. The fact that Arthur dies alone on the mountain either way makes me cry so much, I couldn’t control myself. I Was almost screaming. I know I might be over exaggerating over a fictional character but I don’t think I’ve ever cared about someone in a story so much like I did Arthur Morgan. It hurts me more because his self image was so fucked and he hated himself so badly. He never liked taking credit or compliments even when he knew he was doing the right thing. He was so good to people yet he still had to die like that. I wish he had a happier ending. It didn’t help that that song played. When that song played I lost my shit. I’ve never sobbed so hard I my life. Please give me support because I’m crying typing this it’s too much for me I’m a pussy and have too much empathy

Darryl Draven strongly depends on your honor level at the time you made the choice also what would have majorly helped is if you completed leopard Strauss’s final mission and absolved the first debt and then give money to the second debtor that really helps raise honor but if your honor is way too low even helping marston won’t save you from Micah
Even if you help John, low honor Arthur realizes that he is done, he is finished, so there's no turning back, yet he met his unfortunate and undeserving death at the hands of Micah.
No matter how many times you see Arthur die while looking at that sunrise, it never gets easier

Just seen Arthur die now and only realised that my final choice to help John is just what put me in high honour. Before my decision I was on low but finished the game a fraction in high and I'm happy

Not too long if you've got a simultaneous playthrough of low honor and high honor going on. The only reason these are taking long to put together is that getting from where the mission starts from mission to mission tends to take a long time on horse. XD

I believe giving someone your hat was a sign of extreme respect for someone back in western America. So the fact Arthur gives John his hat shows the respect he has for him

I had the high honor ending, but Arthur didn't crawled to the rock, he just died lying on the floor. (My honor was pretty high btw)
Hmm that's interesting. I wonder if there are differences depending on the level of honor ... for example if you have minimal good honor then you'd end up with the scene of Arthur not crawling to see the sunset as opposed to having high max honor and seeing him crawl towards the edge to get a good view of the sunset.
I was barley below half and I was able to crawl up the hill and I saw the wolf.
@@ChengTeoh if you have low honor but still choose the honorable choices you can still get the what would be considered high honor ending but with the wolf showing up. And vice versa my first playthrough i killed alot of people but still made the good choices when it was optional got what would be the high honor ending with extremely low honor.
