- Does a 2nd gen Tundra need a Trans Cooler. I installed the Scangauge3 to monitor my temps as I tow my Airstream across the country. It looks like I'll be getting a trans cooler.
Nice addition! I've been thinking about adding this for peace of mind on long trips.
Just got a 21 mag gray sport double cab 17k miles. Ill be keeping tabs on your channel as we have the same view on this vehicle.
Great find
Do not worry about the trans temps . I’ve towed extensively with my 2020 in the hills of Pennsylvania. Never an issue at all . Towing a 7k car trailer . Pulling my classic truck around .
Hmmm, just don't like the heat, but appreciate that info.
@@kedrevs4037that’s not a lot of heat for these trans . Toyota figured it out . Most aftermarket trans coolers to me are just an extra risk . I’ve never ever heard of a trans failure on these because of overheating .
When they removed the trans cooler they retuned the vehicle. Running Amsoil trans fluid will lower trans temperatures 20-50 degrees cooler.
What? I hadn't heard that.
Curious how the 'window' mount has held up on the a-pillar or if you had to go with some 3m tape or similar.
no, it came with "sticky" backing. Fell once while sitting, that was it
I was wondering What kind of trans cooler will you install?
I pulled my camper this weekend temps were running kinda high. Several trans coolers around.
Genuine cooling Systems
Sir I am kind new to your channel. I have 19 pro I tow a lot you are right about this 1/2 ton tow best truck I just want to ask you a question do you ever have trailer disconnect show on your Mine is happened right now and I keep losing me e break please let my know any thanks
I haven’t had that happen, my guess would be loose wiring or bad connection
What’s the max lbs you’ve towed?
A little over 7,00lbs across country and back 3 times. I tow across country (5k-7k miles round trip)3-4 times per year. But usually at about 6-6500 lbs.
Anyone that tells you that these trucks don't need a trans cooler have zero idea about what happens to transmissions when temps go over 220. If there is one mod every 19+ Tundra owner should do it is a trans cooler.
If you’ve gone this long without monitoring it I wouldn’t worry too much now
I just got it. Always monitored temps in my '18, and now in the '20.
@@kedrevs4037 ohh you sold the other tundra with 120 on it? How come ?
