Ehh I’d say the mic is comparable to the factory mic. Both not so good. And unfortunately I don’t have any discount codes just yet on their head unit. They do have a newer one that runs Android vs Vivid and I hear is less glitchy.
Had my dasaita for about 4 years now..constant battery drain. Druck dead after 2 days. Definitely the unit/canbus. When removed and factory head unit is reinstalled truck is great.
I’ve had mine for about three months now for some reason it keeps resetting itself sometimes it doesn’t even turn on. I have to turn my truck off lock it let it sit for a few minutes start it for it to come back on. What’s the best way to keep it updated? Even after I said the clocks reset itself and now it’s five hours off don’t know why it keeps turning on and off and doing this.😢
You're having the exact same problems as me. Shortly after installing - mine started going black and resets fairly often. I am going to do a video trying the new update. It may be worth reaching out to customer service (they are great). They told me if the update doesn't work, they would send me an android unit versus the VIVID as it has less bugs.
I'm actually working through it with Dasaita now, and going to try the update this weekend. I'll give it a couple week's to make sure it works, then upload a video!@@Cadeternie
I'm have a terrible time with this radio. I hooe you can help. 2019 Tundra and the kit came with two main harnesses. One has the wrong connectors so I am using the other one. I can not get my back up camera or my steering g wheel controls to work. Do you have any suggestions on what I may be doing wrong?
I wish I could help more, but my install was seamless. It sounds like a connection rather than a firmware issue. I’d take a pic of the connectors and send it to their help email. They are super quick to answer.
I liked your video and it helped me make the decision to purchase this head unit. It took a little bit to figure out some of the connections. The first harness I tried wouldn't fit the connectors, so I used the other one that came in the box, and those fit. It took me a while before I realized I needed to detach the carplay box from the harness that didn't fit to the other. However, the main problem is that the radio won't turn on at all. I've quadruple checked that everything is plugged in tightly, but it still won't turn on when turning on the truck. Is there a step that I could have missed or is it common that these units can come faulty?
Hmm is it the radio only, or the whole unit won’t turn on? If it’s the radio, there is an antenna plug from your truck that will plug in. It looks like a thicker black wire with a 90 degree bend and round metal plug. If it won’t turn on at all, I would for sure contact their customer service. Pictures would be helpful and they should answer within a day or so.
I wish I included a picture of how I had it hooked up. There were three yellow AUX connections and I can’t remember which two I chose to connect. You may just have to swap yours.
Check out my second video. I did a hard reset by unplugging the battery and emailed dasaita for a firmware update. Since installing, I’ve have no issues!
I bought the G12 for my 2018 Tundra. It has been a horrible experience so far. I didn't find the install too bad. But now it is up and running it just continues to restart/reboot over and over. I tried battery disconnect, pulled the fuse, countless RST 30 Sec reboots, reset back to factory setting, tried to update the firmware per the forum instruction countless times with no success. I ended up removing mine from the truck as the unit is basically a paper weight and until I can get some customer/technical support this thing is unusable.
@@nickockenfels6058 dang, that’s a shame to hear. Before I did my update I felt the same, but has since been problem free. Hoping they get you squared away or refunded soon my man.
Whats the benefit of spending $100 more for 8gb Ram & 256gb Rom storage vs 6gb Ram & 64gb Rom storage.. is this needed for the function of the unit or just for storing apps etc?
so how did you get the amplifier remote wire connected? I'm in a 2021 and have everything connected, everything working with the exception of the door speakers due to the triggering of the stock amp under the passenger seat. This is a non-JBL Tundra.
@@AJLoDato22 I found another user on the Dasaita forums with the same issue. It went to a dead end with no solution and I reached out to Dasaita and they are sending a new wiring harness. It's basically not triggering the OEM amplifier but everything else works fine. I also ordered a MIC converter to 3.5mm so I can run my own mic. Hope to get this all function in a week or so!
@@ducsauce85 i got it working with a new harness sent from Dasaita. @AJLoDato22 got it to work, the canbus thingy was on the other set of wires and had to unhook it. Thanks for responding.
Have you figured out how to keep the music going while in reverse?
I actually think there’s a setting by you have to turn off. Mine did that too initially.
when adding a front mounted camera is there a save option for any vids on the camera?
I don’t have a front mount camera, but from the app I don’t see the function to save videos

Will this unit accept a SXV300 SiriusXM Tuner so I can keep my XM radio?
I checked mine today and don’t see any SiriusXM options. It may be a good question to email to their customer service.
What happens to the maintenance reminders after installation? Use a scanner to reset ?
For at least a 2015, my maintenance reminders show up on my gauge cluster. I reset it from there.
Finished my install today. I saw a ground wire that came with it. Didn’t find where to put the ground wire.
Has there been any upgrades to be able to use the OEM mic ?
I haven’t checked since I bought mine. Others on this video thread may have some insight!
Will this unit allow the original tundra microphone to be used?
Unfortunately no, this head unit doesn’t connect to the factory mic
Great intall video. Did you go with the 64gb or 256gb unit?
Thanks! Truthfully, I don’t exactly know. It was whatever was offered in the Amazon link.
Will this work for a non jbl/gps basic 2019 Tundra SR. My current unit doesn't have xm or hd radio either
Yup it should, mine is the non-JBL. They also offer a newer version that is android over Vivid operating software.
Does this unit have multiple preamp outputs for adding amplifiers?
I wish I knew, but this is out of my wheelhouse/over my head!
I have a 2014 Tundra with XM, I'd like to keep XM, can I connect the XM tuner to this?
As my truck doesn’t have XM, I’m not totally sure. I did look up some forums and folks say there is an adaptor you will need from Crutchfield
I’d love to know this as well.
Can you use the oem microphone instead of theirs?
I wasn’t able to find a mic plug in for the factory mic. That’s my recommendation to them for all of their head units - it would be a game changer.
can you hear phone calls through your speakers when using carplay?
Yup the sound comes through the speakers. It’s the mic quality that is bad, so I typically just talk on my phones speaker phone while driving
Is there a different mic you can get that works better?
Where did you mount the included mic?
Initially mounted just behind the steering wheel by the gauge cluster. Since has been removed.
Do they have the same unit for a 2011 tundra crewman sr5?
It’s not this one, but it’s similar. Search ‘2011 Tundra Dasaita’ on Amazon. It has buttons on the left side versus the bottom.
Whats the benefit of spending $100 more for 8gb Ram & 256gb Rom storage vs 6gb Ram & 64gb Rom storage.. is this needed for the function of the unit or just for storing apps etc?
I don’t see the benefit for how I use it at least. I would think it’s for Apps which would require you to have a SIM card, too.

If you have a factory backup camera, when you connect the main harness it is within that. So just a plug and play.
How is the back up camera?
Watch 8:25 if you’d like to see it. Essentially the exact same quality/picture as factory, just enlarged.

I don’t know for sure, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t. May be best to dig into some forums for folks that have JBL!
