Man you make BGA chip swaps look easy.
Jason is just the coolest guy yould like to have close as a friend. Patient, humble, dont loose your mind when things are driving crazy. Very cool vibes. Following here from Brazil. Huge fan.
Thank you! I really appreciate the kind words. 🙏
Hello ;) Regards from workshop in Poland!
The man and the only: Jason! Hello!...
Very nice, I would trust you in repairing any of my electronics. Very meticulous, awesome work! That chip did not look that small under your microscope, but when you had it on your finger, wow, that is a small part to work with.
Thank you! 🙂 I'm always thinking about it as it looks in the microscope so it's easy for me to forget just how small some of this stuff is.
Wise man, dexterous hands, perfect video. What more could you want. Impossible immediately, miracles in three days. Greet from Slovakia.
I sent you my wife’s iPhone 6 Plus after my failed screen replacement and then more abuse by a “professional “. I appreciate your sharing knowledge. You have a huge amount of accumulated knowledge. Excellent editing and enjoyed watching.
Thank you! It looks like I will be giving you good news very soon.
@@ststele that’s the answer he wanted to hear!.
Was great to see the connector replacement, always good to pick up some top tips.
The airflow & temps are much appreciated.
Excellent video, thank you for the temps and air flow.
I have found the same thing with that tester, I have also had bad charge ports when the tester says it's ok, hard to trust that device
I love your content. Thank you so much Jason.
Cool! A Jason video, and it's only Friday. 👍
Great to see you Jason.
Great work 👌
heya so good there are people like you who can really repair foons
You are amazing at what you do and a true professional
Excellent content...great job, Jason!
Good video! Nice and easy one for you Jason!
Thx a lot for another great video Jason.
We are always learning new trouble shooting methods thank you very much for that!
Good work Jason !
Jason does it again… nice work.
Have a great day.
Thanks, you too!
Nice work as always!
Interesting approach on soldering the port, I'll give it a go on the next one just to see if I prefer it!
Thank u! We could always just peel it off like a band-aid.. :D No heat required.. lol
I love watching your videos
Another excellent video, please keep them coming
Randomly came across your channel.
Awesome content.
🙌🏼
Heres a filthy Tip Tip for you that i use regularly. When the iron is hot rub it into some iron wire to scrape off the flake, old solder, flux, then when the tip is clean of debris put the iron into retipping tin compound. Im still using a tip i had from 8 years back and its like brand new every time i use it.
Good stuff bud. Glad to see an ipad port prior attempt that didn't end up with 10 missing pads
Yes, a routine port repair is welcomed around here for sure. You are absolutely nailing it with your channel. I never got anywhere near the amount of views you are getting when I had 36k! Very nice! Edit: In fact, I just checked your stats and you get more views than me! That's really awesome. (I'm not jealous :D )
A good non toxic community? I don’t believe it
Great video, thanks for making it.
Hello Jason. Quick and great video. Very nice my friend
Missed your videos bro I learn alot
Another great video keep up the good work 👍👍👍
Great technique. I am currently fighting with an iPad mini 4 that had a bad tristar. I changed it and now tristar testing good, but still not charging. I’m thinking of changing to charge port too.
Great job!
Good job !
Have the same exact issue. Just submitted a ticket. Thanks!
I love your work love you bro
Thanks 👍
very good sir 👍👍👍👍👍
Top class knowledge
I want to learn electronic repair, any guidance on where to begin would be much appreciated. Thanks for your content
Another good video
I binge watched your videos last year and enjoy watching your work! I was looking at the USB meter you used on this repair 14:29 and noticed it was not the Union Repair model in the description. Could you please share which meter that is?
Amazing
I just got back from feeding 6 strays. 27 degrees. Thinking I'll move to Florida. If I can catch all the furkids...
Another great video, I had the same thing happened to me with Iphone 6, I still wonder if it was outdated IOS
Interesting.. It makes me wonder about every single iPhone I've ever had hang on Apple. I don't always change Tristar to rule it out like I used to. I guess I better start doing that again!
Great repair video! Thanks for mentioning the hot air settings during the IC removal & replacement!
Thank you! Early on with board repair I used to think that the temperatures really didn't matter that much but now I'm a bit more careful. Very little time for mistakes with higher temps!
@@ststele thanks 🤓
👍👍 Nice one. No Trix, just a fix. 😉
Hey curious are you still seeing touch ic / audio ic repairs in your area? Seems to have lessened quite a bit
Hey you say sodder or solder or Magic metal if you want to 😀
Smolder is possible lol 😀
But if you say Aluminium as Alooo minum i will knock your door and run away lol.
Yes i am silly, it stops me going mad... err madder :)
Oh no... lol, I'm pretty sure I do not say aloo-min-ium like a mad-man. :D
Nice sar
you ever gonna invest in a fume extractor since you mainly do board level soldering work?
Hmmm....so maybe the tristar chip just needed to be refloated? Because the tester said it was bad or maybe the tester was wrong? Anyway it looked like there was no underfill on that tristar either - is there any underfill on tristar with other iPad models??
Looks like a MobileSentrix replacement port. good parts quality for domestic orders thats for sure. a little pricier than china but way less problems with their parts
As far as I know the 610a3b is compatible with all three versions of 1610, at least on iphones they do
Yes, same here - I only ever order 1610a3b. I'm thinking it may have been a bad chip or some other cause entirely for it hanging up. I should have tried another a3b out of curiosity but I was more just trying to get it fixed and back out the door.
Hey! Love the videos, found you by accident and have been binge watching since. Also local to me too!
What're your thoughts on the weather recently? The dark mornings have been killing me...
Thank you! We have been spoiled on weather down here. It seems this place doesn't really participate much in winter. Our neighbor cut down a big tree and now all of the sudden, the sun blasts me right in the side of the face in the morning. I like the warmth but it's way too much light.
@@ststele
This winter's been very odd, barely any cold september-december of last year and then this year drops below freezing...
Can't wait till love bug season!!!! (Now that'd be interesting, love bug damaged phones...)
I'm not an expert on ipad repairs but the first replacement chip you put in was labeled as a 610A3B but you were saying 1610. Is there a reason the chip wasn't labelled correctly??
I've put an A3B on pretty much anything Apple for a long time. Never seen a problem with one. Wonder if it's a compatability issue or a bad chip?
Yep, same here. I only keep A3B on hand. I sort of wish I would have went ahead and tried one more. So many things could have caused the hang up. I was more looking to fix it "right now" rather than satisfy curiosity though. :-)
Sees massive chip being soldered. Then you put it on the end of your finger and I'm like ... uh - that's really tiny. Good job!
Very interesting that the A3B didn't work out for you --- I'd have been willing to try another one but at least in the end you still got it working, which is a lot more than what I get done around here :D
Love the new video style.
You're not too shabby, except when you're blowing all your SMCs 😛
@@TheCod3r pffft... turns out they were fine anyhow... was a flakey 3V42 blaming the SMCs ;)
Thanks. This style is a bit easier for me and also requires more exercise (I need it). I really wish I would have just tried one more IC tho!
very good jason lol but how can we be sure you have not got a bad chip lol .
Do you need to push down on the IC when you replace it? What about cleaning the old solder balls with wick?
I usually give the IC a small nudge just to see it is floating but try not to not push down on it. Wicking is good but I normally don’t wick when doing smaller ICs.
Oh wow that chip was so small. It looked pretty big under the microscope.
Out of curiosity no judgment either way do you happen to use any sort of fume extraction
I work in a really well ventilated area and don't intentionally inhale fumes but I don't have ventilation directly at the source. Although I work with this stuff all the time, I rarely ever directly inhale any fumes that come from my soldering. I will likely add direct extraction before much longer though.. I'm eluding to a workshop move - if/when I do, that will for sure be part of it.
More content mate you should record every repair and share lol
👍👍👍
Ipad mini 4 are not charging now charging port cost and replacement charges
Don't call Jason....Shirley.
Hi Jason my I phone 6 is not restarting only the Apple logo pops on can the phone be put on without loosing data in my phone cause I tried updating the phone but it's not happening please revert me back thank you soo much.......
I love apple
Not enough solder lol, a shit ton doesn't kill it.
Can anyone make money just repairing cracked screens in 2022? Or simple repairs? Whats the start up cost to getting a mobile phone repair business going?
Were you trying to look like mr. Bean in the thumb nail?
from Bangladesh,,,, mosarof husain
Time for dinner, I'll be back.
Thanks. 🙂 Nothing too special here. Just some iPad charging repair. Have a chewed up 11 Pro repair that is making its way into a video very soon.
@@ststele
Now the belly is full, time to kick back outside (70 right now) and enjoy a video. Thank you for a nice Friday evening video.
