Well done Jason, I’d just recommend using smaller nozzle so it won’t impact the surrounding much, haven’t had any melting issues since I’ve changed up to smallest nozzle for these types of repairs, don’t even need to wrap or put metals to protect other stuff.
Great you come back , great content , keep it up Jason , o love watching your soldering -- very steady hand , also good sense of humour , very relaxing .
Glad to see the videos again. I allllmost unsubbed just due to thinking you had decided to stop doing the UA-cam thing. But thankfully I did not. It’s a joy watching your repairs. I’ve done one micro soldering repair myself and proud of it but don’t think I’ll be switching careers anytime soon. I accidentally caused pry damage replacing the battery on an iPhone SE 1st gen and knocked the FL2400 off near the battery connector which is in the battery data line path. I decided I try the repair myself just to see if I could. I used a $50 aliexpress digital microscope and cheap Amazon hot air station to do the repair and it was a success. I do other soldering as a hobby just not typically microsoldering on that level. And yes those components are tiny as shit lol. Like a spec of dust that one!
Awesome to see you back Jason, and honestly have to say I felt a little bit shocked earlier on. You're an awesome guy, and even though I'm not a phone guy I do know a lot of what I know because of you. Can't wait for more 🥰
I should probably mention too about how you feel like a hypocrite when you mess up fixing someone else's mess. I did the same on a PS5 a few weeks ago, snapped a connector fixing trace damage. It's not about our mistakes because we all make those, it's about whether we can fix them or whether we're willing to pay for someone else to fix them that sets' us aside from the bad guys
Hehe, sorry to shock u! It’s good to see your channel growing. Thank you for stopping by and commenting! 🙂 I’m not going to disappear for months at a time again. Hopefully 2020~2021 is as bad as it gets! 😳 I’m gonna try to post once or more per week but I’m not about to promise it yet! It’s much easier now with our kids back in school.
@@ststele haha it's all good, i appreciate the help. I don't generally do iphones and haven't done for a couple of years (hence refusing to do complex repairs for customers) but I do know what the causes are and fixes for stuff like audio failures. I think I either screwed up by forgetting to mask the jumper or by possibly nipping the ic a little, so I'll order a replacement chip and try again 😀 I agree though 2020-21 was difficult for a lot of people. Personally I'm lucky enough that I work from home and only get around 20 consoles per week, so I could still make videos even with having kids but yeah I can imagine with kids and a full time job with how busy you are it must be difficult. I'm glad your channel didn't get wrecked by the algorithm and it'll definitely be interesting to see what you do with the newer iPhones. Like I said your content has helped me so much, not just to understand the problems and solutions on iPhones but also the fact that the skill is transferable and helped me learn board repair in general 😁
I would have thought that the customer who does many many screen replacements would have been more gentle but hey ho easy money for you love the videos keep them coming
Another fantastic encouraging video. Nicely executed. I’ve always been impressed with your setup and just how effective it is of producing some pretty cool videos. All angles covered. Thanks for that. Looking forward to next episode. 👍 from me! 🇬🇧
Thank you for the compliments & for commenting! I have a new (used) workbench in the shop that is made for repair but this bench works well the way it is now and I just haven't been able to bring myself to change it. The new bench hasn't really been used for phone repair yet but I'll probably show more of it soon.

Good one :D I wish I had the patience and balls to fix Iphones/ipads, gosh everything is so much smaller compared to laptops XD
So good to see you uploading again. Your videos have a much "friendlier" feeling to them. When are you getting your next delivery of toys from union repair? :)
I am due to order some tools for the newer models and will likely be ordering from them! I owe Union Repair a review video and an apology for a piece of equipment they sent to review but I have not done it yet. It arrived safely but then came a low point in my life (2020~2021) and I never delivered their video. I feel terrible for it and I'm going to make it up to them soon. I don't think I want to do reviews on things that were donated. Although it gives people a chance to see things I may otherwise not purchase, I would rather buy what I really need and then review it. It's hard to turn down free tools though! :-) Thank you for commenting.
Far king hell Jason, how effing small is that soldering, sorry soddering 😁 iron tip that was used to annihilate the choke legs left on the pads? After years of watching I am still astounded at you ability to manipulate the tiny _tings_ on the boards. How many years does a tube of flux last? it seems like a single Rossmann repair uses more flux that you would in a lifetime. I wonder if your customer was on the receiving end of someone else who caused the initial damage. You customer seems like they had told you all that they had done and it was their customer that didn't provide them with the full story behind the repair/damage. I hated customers/clients who would not tell you exactly what they did because they were em-bare-arsed about doing something that caused the issue. (I was did software IT support and the -cunts- L users always lied) *Thank You* for the video Jason. It's appreciated as always! 👍
I really need to cut back on coffee but lately I've been pretty steady. hmmmmm, wait a minute - there are some scenes from this video where I had to work with one hand because the other was holding a camera.... that doesn't really count tho. I hope you are well! :) Thank u
@@ststele i use my mouth and the wife complains but hey what is life when you have it lol look forward to more videos and i havent seen anyone repair the 11 pro max upwards so can you do one . regards
The other day I was watching a Louis video for the first time in a while and when he said, “I’m going to apply a minimal amount of flux” then proceeded to completely cover the entire area, I laughed so hard I almost choked on my coffee. 😀
Hi Jason i got ipad a1822 i can only charge the battery when the ipad screen is on and it will charge then with 1A but when screen is off it takes only 0 A. What can be the problem. I am from belgium so it is imposibble to sent it over. Can you help me what i can check
Starting to see lots and lots and lots of iPad 6 modes with bad BKLT ICs causing no image/intermittent backlight. I’m sure you will too if you haven’t already
9hrs from the video uploaded and already more than 500 likes, everybody waits for Jason’s videos just like me. Can that display choke jumped by a wire???
Thanks - yes, these can be replaced with 2 jumpers & nobody would ever know the difference. I would have nightmares at night so I'm always replacing them with the right thing tho. :-)
Hello Jason am having an iphone 6splus I have change the charging port and also the charging ic but the phone still will not charge, it will only show charging when plug in charger but will not increase please what can be the solution
i just wonder, how much u would charge for this repair at a normal customer. All of these situations, that may take you like a 5 minute to 5 hours to find and repair the issue, i just wonder about the cost.
hello sir will you please tell me you can i fix my iphone 6 plus when i try to turn him on he just show logo of apple after this he never show anything
Great info! I have a air2 ipad (personal) that I keep scratching my head over, a simple battery replacement, on this model, supper easy, the unit was working fine other than battery needed replacement, put a new one in charged it fully, now no screen activity at all, I mean nothing! ITunes recognized it but not able to give commands on screen (touching) to proceed. I have a little microscope and checked for obvious damage on parts of the board that I can inspect and ribbon damage but it all looks good. So I'm besides myself, if you want to give me some of your great expertise over it ,great if not I'll never watch another video of yours again and unsubscribe! Just kidding 😂 thanks if you reply 👍
Thank u! I never tracked the ear buds after we shipped back in December but I seen in a comment that they had not arrived as of 5 months ago. 😮 Did you receive them?
The Bob Ross of iPad repairs. Very relaxing and gratifying to watch. Thanks for uploading.
Wow that amazing demonstration of putting it against the dime was spectacular. Had no clue it was that tiny.
good to see you back. I love your work but I love your philosophical approach more. keep it up jason
You are a very good person, I wish you success, many greetings from Turkey
Thank you! :)
Good job Jason. I wish I had your skills I’ve a hoard of Iphones with various issues like no main camera, Bluetooth and WiFi greyed out etc
Only recently discovered this channel and the videos seem awesome! Time to binge watch 😎😎

Hi, which amscope do you use? The link in your channel bio takes you to a page with loads of them on
you look like actor John Balma, who played in Parks and Recreations! He played a crazy funny acountant
Great work! Fantastic video. Thanks, Jason.
Keep up the great work, Jason! Thanks for posting more outstanding content!
Do you also perform repairs on other brands or do you specialize in Apple products?
