When I'm using hot air near FPC or other connectors, I often place a leftover shield from previous repairs over top of it to protect it from the heat. It works really well as long as you make sure it's not in contact with other solder joints that it might accidentally get soldered to.
I really enjoy these videos. Once I get settled, I will be purchasing a whole starter kit, I feel very confident through watching the videos and reverse engineering the problem using logic, common sense, and creativity. Thanks again for sharing
@kissszilard4220 half of the job is having the right tools. Use an old board to practice on. Remove all parts and reinstall them. Then, work on an item that does work. Pull it apart, and desolder all the parts on it. Resolder them. That will be my method. I would start with charging ports on tablets and mobile phones. I have 2 xbox controllers I want to pull apart and sort out the two joysticks. You will never get any better if you don't try. I had ideas on how to diagnose problems with a thermal camera to see where it gets hot. Little things like that, just using the right tools and common sense. Using alcohol too is a great idea, I didn't think of that. So I've learned a lot and impassioned enough to try. By no means will I be as good as Alex
@@kissszilard4220 yeah! Not a “Pick up and go” hobby. I’ve got frustrated many times! Definitely need some kind of microscope if you’re gonna be doing electronics!
Apple practically doesn't want any tampering on thier device...nice repair ..though it seems easy while u do the job but i definitely know it isn't..well i always enjoy the videos and i learn a lot from you...thanks for been there...
In this kind of job where you need to open the metal cover for the chips. Is it ok if we leave the board without the metal cover again? Seems like the metal cover does nothing like doing some heatsink functions. I feel like opening the chip would make better heat dissipation.
The size of those components are ridiculous... My hands would shake and knock off 20 things at the same time... You could be a brain surgeon with those hands...
Hello, really nice video :) I love watching those fixes. This reminds me of a question that I have, but I don't have any friends that could help me IRL so I might just ask you if you have a minute to spare to give me an idea on my task. I have 2 SSHD hard drives. One of them is broken and the disk inside does not spin. It contains drawings of a friend of mine, and he needs them because he wants to present them at a Job interview. I got not exactly the same, but a pretty similar hard drive with a matching board. I tried to swap the boards, and I can hear that the disc inside spins, but I still don't get it to work. I've read that I should switch the bios chip as well, but I've never done that before and I want to be sure if that's what needs to be done. Could you please give me some advice? I've uploaded pictures of both hard drives, the new and the old one and they can be found here : imgur.com/a/jo8lfnL I would really appreciate your help :)
BigBoss always says Bismillah before turning on the device, how wholesome 🤗
What it means when device turns out to be no fix?
Great repair, but I am so impressed with Big Boss's disassembly/assembly talents. He is such an asset to your business.
Your office is an operating theater! Where it get surgery and fix all the issues before big boss reassembles it! Nice job, Alex!
what a monster of a setup at 14:43 , as always great work :)

Will Kapton work too ?
I place a damp tissue and it also works temporarily
@@narha_sydNot well, but foil tape does!
Aluminium tape is really good at heat reflection, never use kapton tape now.
@@narha_syd Nope, kapton is heat resistant, not a heat shield. In other words it tolerates heat but doesn't deflect it.

It looks easy but...
It looks easy but trust me you need a lot of patience and experience to be skilled as Alex so it looks easy when he is douing this.

You can take that hot tweezers and wick trick to the next level by putting flux on the wick.
Fair play. I'll remember that and try it sometime
King 👑 best channel ever excellent work
At 6 minutes and 25 seconds, I saw two familiar Chinese characters, which is great通用

Mango without Tajin is no bueno in fact it makes most fruits and some vegetables taste better, It's the flux if fruit was solder ;-)

Does Big Boss, the “Boss of all Bosses” like his new working space?
Every time Big Boss reassembles an iPad....he takes a shot!
Awesome ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
Yep
بسم الله big boss❤❤
bro you're not gonna solder the metal cage(faraday cage) back ????
Bro I did relax, it's not the point of the video. Focus on things that matter.
I could already tell that tri-star chip was done due to the discoloration lol
Man sollte die Hersteller verklagen, die einen TriStar-IC verbauen, die nur eine begrenzte Lebensdauer haben .
Why is BIG BOSS so much faster than you? 😁
Alex's mum looks after him because he is a workaholic !!!!
Hi
