This is flat out one of the best guides I’ve seen on all of UA-cam, damn. Right to the point, trims the fat, covers win/lose situations, and practical. AMAZING work dude, thanks so much!!
Something of note for anyone watching, the meaty st.hp at 2:48 needs to hit on its last active frame to be this plus on block/hit. So don't delay anything in the frame kill of cr.lp. Thanks for all the vids you've put out on Ken.
Absolutely fantastic guide. Love how practical many of these are, and feel so much more battle tested than several other oki setups I've seen. Glad to have you out here doing the hardwork for the rest of us.
Ken is my all time favorite, i'm decent with him but after some online matches i realize i don't know how to be aggressive with him, you gained a sub i hope to learn more from you now to try and watch this and practice
I further explained move notations in the Description under the video. Check them out if you're having difficulty understanding some notations. Don't hesitate to ask questions! Thanks for watching.
dude...thank you so much for this. i just hit SILVER with Ken Saturday morning and i need to apply more shit to what i'm doing. trying to find just like, bare bones vids like this was hard. thanks again, bruh!!! 👊
This has been a great guide, thank you so much! Like, to have true set ups feel really good. Going to be practicing for a while until I get really used to it.
this video so good I put a pause on them Cammy cakes for a minute. Them Chun-Li draws in practice mode still a problem. But I'm in therapy for it. Thankyou sir, for giving a recovering booty man a place to shelter from the storm.
The run overhead after side switch will combo on counter and also if you meaty them crouching on wake up... I use that all the time and then you can go into Dragon Lash loops if you see it land!
Idk if your still answering questions but as someone new to fighting games and sf6 in general what is the point of whiffing buttons mid combos? Is it to auto time stuff or catch moves?
I have problems against people who throws OD uppercut reversal randomly. It destroys my oki pressure as Ken. Any tips against them? As far as I know, OD DP on wake up defeart our "meaty" right?
That’s correct. Against opponents that like to wake up with OD DP, you have to bait them into doing it then punish them hard. Go for one of these setups but don’t commit fully to it, as to make your opponent think you’re going for a setup. Once you’ve conditioned them to stop doing that, you can more safely run your pressure.
Are those still working? If I try in practice mode and set the dummy on guard after 1st hit they are always guarded... Appreciate the guide, thanks for sharing!
Please tell me you give private lessons. I’m a begginer to fighting games and I love Ken I’m currently a bronze and trying to figure out how to get better at the game. What’s your recommendation on becoming really good at the game. And thanks for the guide 👍🏽
I don’t give private lessons unfortunately, but there are a few UA-camrs I highly recommend watching to improve. Justin Wong, Diaphone, and Zaferino. They do a great job of teaching. Check them out.
I've been practicing that run lash whiff jab to hk lash and lukes dp beats it(non od). Is this for all or most reversals? I guess I should say situational for certain reversals or am I just not timing it right?
This should apply to all non-invincible reversals since the HK lash hits extremely meaty. Have you tried it against other characters non-invincible reversals? I believe it’s a timing thing, but I’ll check when I get home.
It creates a perfectly timed setup. If you do the jab as soon as possible then do the run overhead right after, it’ll hit on the exact same frame every time without fail
@@DreeceDaBeast you do still have to hit the jab on the first frame though. Setups with a dash make it much easier because you can buffer the dash and it will still come out.

This video is fire for a SF beginner. Thatnks!
More to come!
this is such a godsend guide for someone looking to up their game as i step into platinum with ken! thank you for sharing
Glad I could help!

You got it!
The way you break down win/lose at the end of each setup is great. Guides just don't do that enough!
Absolutely fantastic guide. Love how practical many of these are, and feel so much more battle tested than several other oki setups I've seen.
Glad to have you out here doing the hardwork for the rest of us.
Thanks for the kind words. Glad you enjoyed!
I’ve been stuck on Diamond 1 for like 2weeks. Gonna get on the lab with a few of these set ups. Thanks!!!
I appreciate the complete lack of bullshit throughout this entire video.
This is the kind of guide that levels you up instantly.

This is sensational man. Will be using this to try to break through to diamond
Best of luck!
This is one of the best setups I saw in UA-cam so amazing!!! Great guide thank you
Thanks a lot!

@@DreeceDaBeast I have been practicing it all day and have been playing really well. Definitely helped with my confidence.

@@DreeceDaBeast I had a relapse
Love the megaman song
Lovin' that MegaMan X music bro
The best!
Hey man good work! No fluff just pure meat! BTW I was wondering should settings be set to standard or always counter when doing combos like these?

I just sub bro great video
Appreciate it!
The "Run-tatsu" Mixup: the opponent always landing on corner and seems doesnt do "Back Recovery" , is it still gonna work?
Yes, all of the run tatsu setups have been tested and work against back recovery
Amazing tech. What is the name of the song used? I've heard it before and cannot pinpoint it for the life of me
Mega Man X6 - Infinity Mijionion
@@DreeceDaBeast Yes, that's it! One of the only good parts of that game in my opinion lmao

looks so hard to pull out though... I'll never be able to do that with my ken...
Practice makes perfect! Practice a few every day
do you have a shimmy setup that uses walk back instead of backdash? I think backdash loses to DP
Good video! Keep them coming. Can you do more characters

The irony this came up on my TL while I tried to learn classic controls an hit box. Got super frustrated an gave up.
What if the guy love wake up supers ?
Are there any setups off of run DP? Midscreen or corner.
Or any heavy DP off of light confirms?
After run DP in the corner you can do st.LP, st.HP for meaty.
thankss
Infinity Mijinion!
The best!
Can you explain why we whiff the jab instead of just going into the next move like a meaty run mid kick?
It makes it much easier to be frame perfect. You can skip the jab but you're going to have a much harder time with the timing.
It creates a perfectly timed setup. If you do the jab as soon as possible then do the run overhead right after, it’ll hit on the exact same frame every time without fail

@@fllwurhrtyou can also buffer the light punch lol
Do any of these set ups lose to wake up Drive Impact?
No, not that I've found. The key is that almost all of these setups are either meaty or low committal, making it a lot easier to react to wakeup DI
Megaman X hell yeah! ❤
I love you
