NYC Subway HD 60fps: R160 & R46 F Culver Express Trains & Special Moves @ Avenue N (6/23/16)

Welcome to Avenue N on the BMT Culver Line. Due to long term station platform renovation, Coney Island Bound F trains are running express down the Culver Viaduct. Avenue N is about the best spot to record these express runs, as they are apt to fly through the station between 45 MPH and 50 MPH depending on the operator, signal conditions, and whether or not there is flagging anywhere along the line. At the start of the video, there is flagging at Bay Parkway (the next station to the north), so trains are a bit slower (35-40 MPH). This flagging ends about a half of the way through the video (14:09), and trains resume their normal speed.
Aside from your regularly scheduled R160 & R46 F trains, can you spot the numerous special moves that come through during the duration of this video? There are R68 and R46 deadheads, a Track Geometry Car, and two nostalgia trains. Enjoy and happy hunting =)

Well good Lord I just think about every train went by this station on this day. This station seems to be a hotspot. Great catches of all the different equipment passing by. This was an enjoyable video.

@@SG179E Some were preserved for the transit museum, like all the other retired subway cars (Including the redbird r36 and the recently retired r32).

There is one thing I still don't get today:
Why did they retire and scrap all the nice R40 slants but still run those uglyass R32s?
The R32s are structurally, very good cars, whereas the R40s had less time left structurally. The R32s make more sense to keep, maintenance wise.

I got to say, im not familiar with the subway car models but by far the older f trains are my favorite. They look longer and for being older they still look pretty modern.

BKPlayz because the slant is a dangerous thing when there is an emergency move to another car it is an injury/death hazard

non-revenue = not in service. Equipment moves are made all the time to get cars from the yards to where they enter service, and vice versa.

Actually that's a IND Culver line not BMT.
The Culver Line between Ditmas Av and Coney Island is historically BMT. The IND built portion of the line runs from Jay St to Church Av. Chaining on the line is IND, but the radio frequency is still BMT.
