If you're from New York, like yours truly, that squealing of the trains going around curves is music to my ears. My girlfriend who is from Texas once asked me while we was eating at Nathan's how can anyone tolerate that noise? My answer, "Welcome to New York!"🤣
I have heard of Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue as the "anchor" to the NYC Subway system, for two reasons. First off, it is the southernmost station in the system (I believe, just look at the map). Secondly, the fact that it is terminus to 4 major lines that connect to 4 of the boroughs and its proximity to the Coney Island Yard make extremely important. Basically, if this station is closed, there is a big problem.
Giving me flashbacks of when I lived in Coney Island growing up I'd be in Astroland hearing the trains on the curves back when the D was all R40M/ 42's
Coney Island. Сразу из знакомого места поезд и очень скоро конечная. Слева дом, справа лестница 0:42. Красное и от Coney Island поезда в одну сторону - 0:55. Is it me, or did those girls that we call 'R46' make love on that sharp curve ;) The 160's are catching on as well, that 160 @7:20 is just an absolute blast to listen to as she slowly makes her way to that station, the best way I can say it lol
Armani Shows Savage No because the C Runs to Euclid And that means switching tracks at Jay Street takes out the point of A Express The A Train is needed From 168 To 207 And Euclid To Lefferts Or Rockaways
The r160s on the f is horrible, I miss the r46s on the f and the remaining 46’s that still run on the a, c, n, q, w and s trains will be retired next year and replaced by the new r211as and r211ts. I like the old stuff, (nostalgia) technology on these lines, not the newer and more modern ntt trains. 😡🤬 I like the door chimes on those cars and they can also be found on the r44s (Staten Island Railway), r62s, r62as, r68s and r68as. I also like the bucket seating and their arrangements and how some are along the wall and others are sideways facing each other. I also like the sheet rubber floors, plastic seats, fluorescent lighting, spaces for ceiling advertisements and the use of air springs instead of heavy metal springs. They instead have horizontal bars that passengers could hold on to. They were built with air-conditioning. I also like the lcd destination signs that they received during their 1989-1993 overhaul by morrison-knudsen of hornell, new york through the nycta’s general overhaul program (GOH), like the r44s. I like that the 46’s were the second 75-foot (23 m) long subway cars ordered for the NYC Subway, after the R44s. It was also the largest passenger car order in United States railroad history at the point of the fleet’s completion in 1981, at 754 cars. They were also the last subway rapid transit cars built by pullman standard in chicago, illinois before the company ceased operations in 1982. The r44s were built by st. louis in st. louis, missouri before the company ceased operations in 1973 with the completion of the order and no subway cars were built there ever again after.

Seeing the Q train riding in on top of the F train at 13:29 is just breath taking. That is some architectural genius!!!
The BMT knew how to build a system.
I like how it just overtake the q train under

Matthew Smith You Could go to West 8th Street Neptune Or Bay Pkwy
West 8th street is the most southernmost station actually
