Dare wasn't actually an ODST She was an ONI operative who was working with Bucks ODST team so I presume she got the recon helmet frrom ONI and since she was basically a spy I imagine the Recon helmet suited her due to its stealthy nature and protection value.
Mjolnir i think is mainly the Shielding system. considering how expenive Mjolnir is in game lore it would never be justified having so many versions of the Armor that this video discuses if Mjolnir could not be modified to use many different armor scenes.
7:35 What practicality does an extra large visor have for combat in space? Wouldn't you want LESS glass that can crack in combat exposing you to the vacuums of space?
Humans are very flat in how we perceive things. We instinctively like to look left and right for things, and in the presence of gravity it usually is effective. When in space the enemy could be in any direction even directly up. So they must have as much visibility as possible to see their targets.
Real reason: To look like astronaut helmets. Best possible in universe reason: Most land combat happens mostly two dimensionally. In space since everything floats all space combat is going to be three dimensional and enemies can come pretty much from any direction. Bigger visor = more visibility.
What I love about halos armour is that its for anyone with specific talents and needs and looks like it fulfils that role with its great design. EOD for those great with dealing with explosives. Scout for talented ranged soldiers. EVA for those that need to go into space. You see what I mean right? it feels so real but with a nice tint of fantasy.
I always thought the Haunted customization meant that the person inside had died, but an AI continued piloting their armor, making them walking corpses.
Reach definitely had the best, most thought-out armor variations. They made the Spartans look bulky and tough. Many hours were spent playing reach on 360 just to unlock pieces.
"Mark-IV armour didn't have shields". Well, except Jorge; the only Mark-IV variant with shields in canon, due to the whole "shielding testbed" thing. In fact, Jorge-052 could even be wearing the very first shielded Mjolnir PAA.
In the Mission to take back sword base to get to Dr hallsy when she sees Jorge she asks what he did to " my armor" I think that he had the first one, because she seen his armor and realized what armor it was exactly, so yes i agree with you
I'll always have super fond memories of getting Reach and looking at the customization menu and just being in awe of all the different armor variants and being super excited to customize my character. Finally getting Gungnir and equipping it was such a huge feeling accomplished and highlight for me because as soon as I saw it I was like "Holy shit that's crazy! I want that helmet). I also think it's neat that my Spartan looks exactly the same as Luc's! Expect my colors are dark gray and black.
I love the CQB helmet and in MCC, my Spartan currently wears it. Also, it bears a sleight resemblance to Mandalorian helmets from Star Wars thanks to the T-visor look. So, in my book, that’s badass. “This is the way.”

One of my favorite parts of Halo 3 was collecting the armor, I really liked the way it was handled there, where it was unlocked via achievements. Even though I couldn’t understand the descriptions of most the armor variants, I liked the fact that someone had actually taken some time to write about them. Although I don’t much like 343’s armor styles, Halo 5 has a lot of cool descriptions on the permutations too. I was reading them just yesterday. Nice little bit of lore.
Remember when I got this game I'm middle school I played it so much I was able to unlock all of the armor form just fire fight and the campaign cause at the time I didn't have Xbox live gold. The hours I had in this game.
EVA will always be my favourite, sure it’s not the most badass or bulky thing out there but I just love it’s looks, especially if you paint a skull on it
We need this customization back. So many unique combinations. Even if they introduce new armor types.. as long as they're as good and efficiently detailed as Reach's that's what matters.
I don't even own an Xbox, my brother does and we used to play Halo all the time. I, sadly, don't think they'll ever go back to being this in-depth with detail and having an immense amount of customization. There's always hopes and dreams but I'm not gonna get them too high

Oni: Come on now Emile, you know defacing your armor like that is against code Emile: you gonna try and take it from me then? Oni: ...I guess you can use that helmet for now.
The lore behind the armor in 4/5 is that it's almost entirely outsourced to private companies, some of the original companies like the one's listed in this video make SIV armor too but it's mostly newer ones which is why there's so much and why they have really weird designs for niche purposes. Basically car production but for Spartan IV armor. The armor made during the war emphasized general effectiveness across different roles while the armor post war is both a fashion show and highly specialized
Has no one ever mentioned where spartans keep their mags? At the end of the day they are still elite soldiers operating conventional weapons. Kinda wished the armors have actual magazine pouches rather than random grenade belts.
Halo: Reach had this aesthetic about it just not found in any other Halo game. I distinctly remember the armour I favoured all those years ago: Helmet: Recon (UA/HUL[3]) (black visor) Shoulders: ODST (both) Chest: UA/COUNTERASSAULT Wrist: Tactical/TACPAD Utility: Tactical/Soft Case Knee Guards: FJ/PARA Primary Colour: Maroon Secondary Colour: Steel Those were the days. :)
18:28 In regards to the Tactical/Patrol chest piece, the thing on the back isn't a backpack. It's a camel pack, which is a storage device for holding water for long operations as evidenced by the long wire along the collar.
Almost. Chances are it likely also contains a camelpak, which is actually used for (in addition to holding water for long operations) allowing the user to quickly hydrate themselves in any kind of heat.

Were these systems for Spartans or designed for rival supersoldier programs?
Dare wasn't actually an ODST She was an ONI operative who was working with Bucks ODST team so I presume she got the recon helmet frrom ONI and since she was basically a spy I imagine the Recon helmet suited her due to its stealthy nature and protection value.
Mjolnir i think is mainly the Shielding system. considering how expenive Mjolnir is in game lore it would never be justified having so many versions of the Armor that this video discuses if Mjolnir could not be modified to use many different armor scenes.
7:35 What practicality does an extra large visor have for combat in space? Wouldn't you want LESS glass that can crack in combat exposing you to the vacuums of space?
mihajlo525 - I'm not sure why but for the shuttle programs, the visor was so extensive to increase visibility as much as they could.
Infinite peripheral vision!
Haha I thought the same thing but I believe it's to look like astronaut helmets so players can go oh yes space armor

Y-17 TRAUMA HARNESS OVERRIDE
Reach definitely had the best, most thought-out armor variations. They made the Spartans look bulky and tough. Many hours were spent playing reach on 360 just to unlock pieces.
The Emile/Mario "Let'sa go!" immediately made it worth a like.
"Mark-IV armour didn't have shields".
Well, except Jorge; the only Mark-IV variant with shields in canon, due to the whole "shielding testbed" thing. In fact, Jorge-052 could even be wearing the very first shielded Mjolnir PAA.
And red team
In the Mission to take back sword base to get to Dr hallsy when she sees Jorge she asks what he did to " my armor" I think that he had the first one, because she seen his armor and realized what armor it was exactly, so yes i agree with you
According to the "Fall of Reach" novel, John-117 was the first to have a shielded Mjolnir suit.
I’m pretty sure his armor is modified judging from the dialogue in the ending cutscene for Sword Base

Now we need an 8 hour Halo 5 armor lore video
ok I can tell you for sure that is NEVER happening hahahahahahaha
Fossiled studios it’s all reskins
Yeah I didn’t care for the armor sets after reach. I pretend their art style just isn’t a thing.
In short. The UEG allow more corporations & more contract work to create more spartan exosuits to quickly jumpstart the UNSC defense post-war.
half the armor is reskins, it'd only take a mere 4 HOURS.
Remember when I got this game I'm middle school I played it so much I was able to unlock all of the armor form just fire fight and the campaign cause at the time I didn't have Xbox live gold. The hours I had in this game.

I’ve been waiting for CQB for the longest, thanks hidden
We need this customization back. So many unique combinations. Even if they introduce new armor types.. as long as they're as good and efficiently detailed as Reach's that's what matters.
I don't even own an Xbox, my brother does and we used to play Halo all the time. I, sadly, don't think they'll ever go back to being this in-depth with detail and having an immense amount of customization. There's always hopes and dreams but I'm not gonna get them too high

Dark Spartan Hell if I know.

That's why i put armor pieces with pouches on them. Like the tactical series of chest armor.

Wrist: Tactical/TACPAD

In regards to the Tactical/Patrol chest piece, the thing on the back isn't a backpack.
