Hey man I got a quick question. What’s the difference between blocking off the egr then removing it completely? Thanks. Awesome video🇺🇸👍🏼and which choice is better?
EGR block off is a much cheaper alternative and requires less mechanical knowledge. It also leaves the underside of your hood appearing factory and there are a few reasons you may want that. EGR Delete fully removes all EGR related emissions components which results in a much cleaner engine bay along with getting rid of quite a few points of failure. To really complete this job you would want to install a passenger side LB7 up-pipe. That being said, changing that up-pipe is a serious bit of extra work. Especially if you see salt. Up-pipe bolts frequently break, especially when having to use a wrench/socket to break them loose.

Hey Josh, great video bud,. I just bought a lbz and I'm about to do this to mine, with exhaust. I do have a question,. My trucks never been tuned. Will it still run and be ok. I do have a edge evolution I use as a monitor, bit I could tune it if I need to. Plus I'm going to use your lift pump video for my AD11
Quick question to everyone here who has expertise deleting their EGR. Are there any engine lights that pop up after relating to EGR? Also I know there’s the blocker plate delete but another video says there’s another method that’s even better that doesn’t use a blocker plate. Would anyone happen to be able to comment on that? Great video. Thanks
Really good video actually, very helpful, not mention telling what product you bought and how very similar it is to the Sinister one which is way more loot and basically the same. Thanks 😄🤙
Pretty sure my truck came with the exact aftermarket pipe. I had to remove the boot to do a repair, and the flare at the bottom end of the pipe is making it really hard to tighten the clamp down; the clamp keeps working its way up the pipe and popping off. An Impact driver helped but I could only get it to stay by putting it on slightly crooked, which is not good. Any help on getting the clamp to stay on? I'm about ready to ditch this pipe if I can't get it fixed. Thanks!
The purpose of the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system is to reduce Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) emissions by lowering combustion temperatures. Lower combustion temperatures produce fewer NOx emissions. The EGR system does this by introducing inert exhaust gas into the intake. Inert exhaust gas will not combust (burn) when mixed with fuel because it does not contain oxygen. The inert exhaust gas entering the intake replaces intake air, which is rich with oxygen. LESS OXYGEN = LESS COMBUSTION LESS COMBUSTION = LOWER TEMPERATURE LOWER TEMPERATURE = LESS NOx FYI Tim
Hi I have a 2005 LLY stock, and I'm just learning about the EGR delete and also considering the ybridge option/ and possibly an inline performance with the EDGE revolution or something equivalent... I prefer to do it once but I am confused on what products and what I should also consider doing. I prefer to do this once and also use quality parts, rather pay up front than have to redo things. also would woukd the truck need to be re programmed to address the check engine conditions ?,, appreciate any advice,,, BTW great posts very helpful.. Thank you
+JI Zapa the lly is a similar process but different, not sure if you watched my recent bridge install video that should help you out some but get efi live so the engine light will go away. You can get the cheap stuff but make sure you brace that Egr pipe so it won’t move at all. Later I went with the WCFab ybridge and Egr tube
Thanx for posting this! I have enjoyed watching you work on your Max. It will be a tremendous help when I get ready to do my 07 LMM (NBS) this fall. I may not go with the same manufacturer you did, but it was good to see how some aftermarket parts just don't quite fit right. Glad to see you finally got all the bolts on the intake tube bolted down. I will also be adding Edge CTS2 for a monitor, 4" straight exhaust, EFI Live, I have not decided on who's programs I will run, but have it narrowed down to 2. Also I'm pretty sure the DPF and stock exhaust is about ready to fall off also, so I'm gonna have my hands full it sounds like! Thanx again for takin' it to the Max!
Awesome! I'm glad I can help I used to own a LMM it was a great truck. I had the DPF deleted and went with the H&S mini max, it will override your DPF and EGR codes. Also I suggest EFI Live by Idaho Rob with the DsP5 switch with the highest setting I ran was the 150hp. But good stuff and best of luck I plan to post another video on hiding those Egr wires so it looks cleaner in the engine bay.
I have a 2008 Duramax 6.6 and I bought it with a straight pipe and the guy said it was deleted, but I’m loosing antifreeze and if I hit the fuel hard it will have some white smoke . I want to fully delete it , to get rid of the EGR as mine is sweating a lot . What brand did ya go with and how much did it cost .? Was it difficult to remove and install the kit ? Thanks
After the Full EGR Delete Install; are you not required to install all new exhaust system. I've been speaking to a mechanic and another that worked for chevy dealership and another company that does the delete install and they all want to charge over $2,500 to do the delete and install new exhaust.!!! Hence me watching you amazing informative video.
Hi got a question for you When I took my heater grid intake off. You know how it has that power cable. What did you do with yours did you hook your back up? And did you have two codes that popped up I got a p0405 And a p0540
Maybe a dumb question. Does the 2.8 LWN duramax need a Y-bridge? I can’t find anything about one while researching a full EGR delete. Just removing the cooler and blocker plates.
I noticed you dealt with boost leak issues after your install and than you started recommending the y bridge method. So my question is should I just do 3 blocker plates and play it safe or do delete and possibly run into other issues including the y bridge?
hello I really like watching your videos. I would like to know if doing the egr cover plate is a good think for my lly or what would recommend me to do?
I have a 2010 lmm. What kit would you recommend? I am on a tight budget, but I need an egr delete like yesterday. Which Y bridge, and which down pipe? Any info or links would be helpful . Thanks
Got a 2011 lml , only problem ive had with truck is emission b.s., want to do a full delete..got any advise on a kit to go with? Emissions off thinking of going with edge cts tuner.. any advise under the hood? Legs dont work right for a few years so any advise will help when i get in the egine bay..thanks for your time.✌
Hi I have a 08 lmm duramax and I need some help!! Thanks to you for your videos I did a full delete Cat, EGR, and DPF w/ a bullydog GT. My truck is show EGT sensor high and EGT sensor low please help
I’m fixing to do the EGR delete on mine as well. What kind of coolant do I need to put back in it. And also mine rolls coal now. But does it affect it more after the delete ?
Hey. Fairly desperate here. I went to the station yesterday and the attendant put gas in my lly (can't pump your own gas in Oregon) I drove about 15 miles. But had about 1/4 tank of diesel in felt it cut out and pulled over right away. Had my truck towed home and pumped out as much gas as I could. Going to change my fuel filter and try and bleed out my lines. Any thing else I should be doing? Any advice is very appreciated.
Alright man first off love the channel and the truck. I have a question to ask be I'm beyond confused. I have a 2007.5 2500hd 4x4 lmm tuned and dpf delete and egr block plate I wanna do the full egr but I'm confused how does it work without the throttle body off the cold side being in place?
So do you need a tuner to have this? Just bought first diesel truck today and wanting to improve it since it's 150k miles and 2013. Comments are appreciated much
So I watched your other videos where you had your up pipe leak, and that also leading to your Ybridge being loose, if you tighten down the new intake tube after the EGR delete really well will those Orings fail still on the Y bridge? I am looking into doing the EGR delete on my 07 LBZ with 119k on it. Also if I am just simply running the EGR delete will the blocker plate and those bevels hold up to near stock pressure?
why so much oil in your intercooler piping? mine is so bad its leaking onto my fender, but theres oil in the hotside i think i might need a new turbo? or rebuild that one?
Excellent video and information, was hoping you could answer some questions for me. I have an 09 Silverado 2500hd LMM with 165,000 miles, bone stock and I love it but am concerned about EGR and DPF component failure any day now. I understand this is a very beneficial procedure, how beneficial? I want longevity and improved mpg. Is the procedure the same as your LBZ? I've heard the cooler is the toughest part but you made it look pretty easy. Do I definitely need to do the DPF delete in conjunction? Maybe a dumb question, I'M thinking that's a yes though. Thank you so much for your time and awesome super informative vids.
+Matthew Chittenden I had a LMM as well watch my other Egr videos I explain a lot but the process is almost identical other than the u shaped coolant hose. But YES delete that dumb dpf in conjunction with the Egr. Then efi live tune the LMM so the check engine light will not come on. You will notice a difference in mpgs and throttle response after the installs
@truckmaster so in the future did you end up removing the plate ?I’ve watched your other videos and one I believe says that the blocker plate is a cheaper idea. Thanks for any info ! Tryna get the job done right the first time
I just bought an 07 lbz. I've been watching your videos for the past couple of weeks, and was wondering if you needed to get a tuner before the egr delete?
Great video thanks for all the detail doing the job do you recommend this EGR kit like you I’m on a budget but still want to do the job only once. Do you have a link where you got the kit or a phone number and part number to order it as well. 👍
What do u do with the plug that came out of the upper cold side tube and the heavy red wire that is under the plastic cover on the top of the cold side intak
Hey truckmaster love the channel, lots of help. I have the 06 LBZ and can’t seem to find a reputable company that has an egr delete kit. I looked into the evergreen but it’s not available any longer. Just concerned the parts will come and they won’t fit. Any suggestions or connects you may have. Thanks
About to do EGR delete, pcv reroute and down pipe. Should I go,ahead and do the turbo wheel while I'm in there. Onboard oil bypass next, gotta save up some more $$.
+Remy Salinas no kidding I'm in the same boat with saving up for the ybridge but the turbo wheel is a pain to install, if you have the time I would say go for it since you already have the Egr intake off
Very hard to find any info on this online but will an egr delete and Intercooler piping from a LBZ fit on a 2005 LLY ? buddy has some parts he offered for free since he wrecked his truck before he could put them on. But not sure if they’ll fit.
Truck Master, I appreciate the video as I’m considered replacing my EGR because I believe it’s clogged. I would delete, but I get emission tested annually and it’s my understanding that doing an EGR delete would cause me to fail the emissions test. Can you or someone confirm if that’s true or not? Thanks for the assistance and all of the great videos!!!
Is there a reason that the kit is no longer available? I’ve searched for the evergreen kit but no luck. If it is unavailable what is the next best budget kit to get?
Hey man, just was wondering what the only difference from the LBZ and LMM kit is. Watching the video it seems just like the placement/size of the PVC re-route. Maybe the blocker plates too, watched this video a couple of times and have the same kit. Im going to put it in my LMM myself soon just want to make sure I don't miss a step. Thanks
I'm guessing all of the external oil on the CAC (intercooler) piping was from leaking Transmission lines (where they go into the radiator)?? they're notorious for leaking. A good time to change those as well while you're there. Also, I'd recommend replacing the intercooler (3) Boots as they will eventually get soft & start leaking & throwing a low-turbo boost code, chk engine lt and cause it to go into a limp.
Looking to do a EGR delete right. What parts do I need and where can I find all of them. I have a EDGE CTS that is the 7 power level model that allows for the EGR delete.
On my dads 15 duramax we just took the engine out delete all that stuff upgrade the turbo to a stage 2 built the trans upgrade the intercooler piping and intercooler and tie rods and drive shaft

LESS OXYGEN = LESS COMBUSTION
LESS COMBUSTION = LOWER TEMPERATURE
LOWER TEMPERATURE = LESS NOx
FYI
Tim
It also gunks up your intake and runners but it’s a great design 😂
I’m curious about how you like the cheap kit after a couple years?
It’s garbage don’t cheap out like I did
Truck Master what made it garbage?
Truck Master do you have a link of something that’s better quality
Thanks
@@eddiereyna2998 you must be joking 😃
@@jrrains facts like didn't he say the brand over and over😂
keep up the videos dude. very helpful, thinking of doing the 3" MBRP downpipe, you are running efi live right?? what kind of mpg you getting??
+Darren Williams thanks man yes I have efi live my mpg is 20
After the Full EGR Delete Install; are you not required to install all new exhaust system. I've been speaking to a mechanic and another that worked for chevy dealership and another company that does the delete install and they all want to charge over $2,500 to do the delete and install new exhaust.!!! Hence me watching you amazing informative video.
Hi got a question for you
When I took my heater grid intake off.
You know how it has that power cable.
What did you do with yours did you hook your back up?
And did you have two codes that popped up
I got a p0405
And a p0540
Maybe a dumb question.
Does the 2.8 LWN duramax need a Y-bridge? I can’t find anything about one while researching a full EGR delete. Just removing the cooler and blocker plates.
I noticed you dealt with boost leak issues after your install and than you started recommending the y bridge method. So my question is should I just do 3 blocker plates and play it safe or do delete and possibly run into other issues including the y bridge?
After my tune. My cruise control is not working. Any ideas. And at what speeds would you say. A lbz. 06 should shift? And I have no passing gear now.
It’s very possible your brake switch when bad.
Replace that first it’s like a $20 part and it wouldn’t hurt to replace it anyway 👍
Couple questions. When you did this delete what tuner were you running if any? How did you keep the check engine light off? I’m Having egr trouble :/
hello I really like watching your videos.
Thanks
Just got my first lbz with 150k miles gonna do an egr delete soon this video was really detailed thanks
Got a 2011 lml , only problem ive had with truck is emission b.s., want to do a full delete..got any advise on a kit to go with? Emissions off thinking of going with edge cts tuner.. any advise under the hood? Legs dont work right for a few years so any advise will help when i get in the egine bay..thanks for your time.✌
Hi
I have a 08 lmm duramax and I need some help!!
I used a real similar pipe mine was labwork. what boot did you use to seal off the cone shaped end.
So do you need a tuner to have this? Just bought first diesel truck today and wanting to improve it since it's 150k miles and 2013. Comments are appreciated much
The plugs that went into the ERG Valve, what do we do with those or there like an adaptor that sends a signal saying the EGR is fine?
would doing the delete help prevent the variable veins in the turbo from getting stuck? thanks for the vid!
Will this roughly be the same process for an LB7 Cali truck? Can’t find anything on here for LB7 egr deletes.
The best videos I’ve seen on here. You actually what you’re talking about and it’s all good.
Hey so I have an lbz duramax and I was wondering since I don’t have a tuner if I would have to tune my truck after deleting the egr
why so much oil in your intercooler piping? mine is so bad its leaking onto my fender, but theres oil in the hotside i think i might need a new turbo? or rebuild that one?
If my trucks already dpf deleted, would it need another tune after doing an egr delete.. fyi, it was dpf deleted prior to me purchasing..
Remember This Josh Brother? Boy howdy look at you now! 🤠🤣
Tryna get the job done right the first time
That plate blew my uppipe below from all the pressure
@@TruckMaster so what did you end up doing ?
So the power wire and plug that went to the box on top of the egr did you just tap off the power wire and tide those back?
Nice job man my dually duramax don't have dose pipe i just noticed I'm going to try to do it my self
I just bought an 07 lbz. I've been watching your videos for the past couple of weeks, and was wondering if you needed to get a tuner before the egr delete?
You should get it after you delete
will the truck throw any codes after I do the delete?
Great video thanks for all the detail doing the job do you recommend this EGR kit like you I’m on a budget but still want to do the job only once. Do you have a link where you got the kit or a phone number and part number to order it as well. 👍
Did I see a electric fan on your truck ? Did someone manufacture one that can move enough air when pull a RV ?
What do u do with the plug that came out of the upper cold side tube and the heavy red wire that is under the plastic cover on the top of the cold side intak
What intercooler pipe did you use to replace factory plastic one
Enjoy your video's, keep up thee good work.
Thanks
I also blew my y off my stock passenger up pipe and went with a aftermarket pipe and blew it to so I need a sealed passenger up pipe for my 07 LBZ
Josh what did you do the heater assembly? and did you get a check engine light?
Thanks
+Nick Saletnik your correct the u shape coolant hose and the blocker plate are the only difference
Great video, what's the advantage of removing instead of just blocking it off?
+Daniel Wimberly better air flow with a full Delete that's the biggest difference
+John Henry thanks for the advice! And your right the trans cooler looking lines were leaking
So what about the engine light? Does it stay on? Will this kit trick the computer?
Your videos are great! You give me that extremely nice person vibe.
+Aman Sanghera thanks man
I know this is an older vid but if you havnt already, Next put on an AFE turbo intake manifold. My lbz woke up with that and a down pipe. Very crisp.
Looking to do a EGR delete right. What parts do I need and where can I find all of them. I have a EDGE CTS that is the 7 power level model that allows for the EGR delete.
On my dads 15 duramax we just took the engine out delete all that stuff upgrade the turbo to a stage 2 built the trans upgrade the intercooler piping and intercooler and tie rods and drive shaft
cool story
jarren gabaldon thanks it took us a week to build all of that stuff
Let's see it
jarren gabaldon there on my videos go check them out
MOPAR_LSX _SVT_JDM what videos
Will a blocking plate alone stop any further corrosion in the egr and thus the engine?
@21:11 “here’s that ol blocker plate.. don’t need that no more” …
@ 24:00 min in installs another blocker plate 😂😂
Sorry I just got a laugh from that! Great video man!
Looking at getting this kit for my LMM... how is this holding up for you? Any problems?
What did you do with all your un-used electrical pigtails when you were all said and done?
