I had over 300k on mine with these mods. Truck towed GREAT!!!
GOATS!!!!! Thanks for all the help past and present.
Thank you!
Thank you for the great information Duramax tuner. One of the most difficult bits of information to find on the Internet for my Duramax are the differences between a regular pick up and the C5500 Topkick trucks out there. I really want to get a y-bridge kit, but the intercooler piping is completely different. It would be very very interesting to find out all the other differences. One of the best things is the rear access of the engine from inside the cab. How convenient for so many different modifications, and great access to the turbo and exhaust up pipes. Also easy easy access to the rear of the fuel rail. Tons of space all the way around the in general.
I have already put a PPE tune, eliminated the catalytic converter, EGR block off plate, PPE, fuel rail plug, and the turbo inlet elbow. I’m more than happy to bring mine over to your shop if you’d like to do an exposé on top kicks ! It only has 50,000 miles on it and it’s clean as it could possibly be. 2004.5 LLY
@jefferysadler7619 Bring it by sometime! we would love to check it out. Maybe we could even talk about getting you on the podcast sometime.
New mouth piece on this fall. Not an,omg that's fast. But definitely little more response on throttle and running cooler. Want to get fass pump next. Inherited 4.5,never getting rid of her. Bone stock, having a blast learning about her.
Love it!
Careful with the PPE race plug everyone. It increases the chance of a high pressure line from the fuel rail to blow. After doing the race plug on my truck i blew 3 different lines on 3 separate occasions having to be towed.
@JDaniel you ruptured 3 high pressure fuel lines? The steel lines from the common rail to the injectors? Wow! I have never seen that. Did it happen under full load (max fuel pressure commanded)?
Agreed. The pressure system has to have relief. If anything I'll order the stock one and have it as a spare.
That sounds symptomatic of aggressive/poor tuning.
@@Duramaxtuner yes, whatever helps you sell. the guys with blown trucks will come to you for more parts ;)
We’d make more money selling ‘sprung’ relief valves. Honestly, I’ve never seen a line fracture in the 15 years we’ve been selling rail plugs.
If anyone wants a higher pressure sprung relief valve- we have them. I’ve traditionally only used them on trucks with 12/14mm CP3 pumps (dual CP3 etc).
Stoked to see new content on the LLY. Like Kevin below I bought my 2005 3500 new, 40,000 miles on the clock. Added the S&B around 2009, not sure as I work overseas and don't remember exact dates. I haven't mounted the FASS 150 I purchased back in the day(NIB) , same with the Banks Technicooler and new trans cooler. So many plans from back in the day, time goes so fast. Banks CAI, Six Gun, full exhaust and their speed brake. What I'm concerned most with is the trans limping if I'm above level 3 at sea level. Along with wanting to beef up the trans I'd like to add you 5-6 speed kit. Retiring in 18-24 months, guess I better make the move while income is available. Head studs...
We are glad to hear that. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to give us a call. 815-568-7920!
Get anything done or still dreaming buddy? 😂😂😂
Yes sir. Go with mahle wavestopper head gaskets and ARP head studs.
I have a '05 GMC Sierra 2500HD LLY with 50,000 miles on it. Ordered and owned it since day one. Use nothing but Amsoil premium diesel synthetic oil and lubricants the best of the best. Have the Fass Titanium 165 gph lift pump and S&B intake manifold. Felt a big difference when I put the S&B on. Gonna have to get the tuner. Also have the Mag-Tech trans. pan and differential cover. K&N Air filter. Transmission/Transfer Case strengthener bracket made by Merchant Automotive Duramax Specialists. Thanks for all of the informative videos you all put out!
a 2005 with only 50k on it? thats nuts, i have an 05 and i just hit 340k....
you absolutely didnt "feel" gains from an intake alone XD
You absolutely will feel gains. These little llys need all the air and fuel they can get. Just a fuel filter change you can feel the difference. 2005 with 234k on it.
@@koreymcfarland8737 you're not going to feel anything, you don't even see a gain on a dyno
@@koreymcfarland8737 if you need air buy a turbo, intake aint doing shit
My work truck is the 06 lly/lbz. If driving respectable (not driving it hard at all) aiming for fuel economy does the race tune get as good, better, or worse economy as the street tune?
Would love to see a similar video for the LML
Noted. Thanks!
If my truck is already tuned. Can I wipe it a retune it with your tune? I have EFI live single tune that the previous owner had already done. No idea what it's tuned for. Would love to retune and add the dsp5. 04.5 lly
My trucks throwing a p0335 code won’t start gonna check the wheel to see if it’s loose. Throw a bunch of codes now only that code gonna change the sensor and check the wheel anything else you would check
My 05 lly is reading 2psi at idle on the bully dog what should I do I need help
Set that sucker back to stock and get their tunes via efi live, hp tuner, or ez lynk
Happen to know the tire size and suspension set up on the truck in the video?
@DURAMAXTUNER please share the tire wheel and lift info on the beauty red truck in video! Thx for the vid just picked up my first diesel LLY and love it.
Stock wheels, stock suspension, 32 inch tires.
Dose it actually not work with deleted egr?
The tuning will not.
Hey duramax tuner
What would you say is healthy fuel pressure for an 04.5 lly at idle
Idle my truck runs between 3-5 psi
4,500 psi.
Mine reading 2 psi on my bully dog what should I do
Hilarious that you need a disclaimer for sticker horsepower, lol... It had a typo (missing a 1), though, everybody knows it's actually +10 hp per sticker..
@fl6stringer Industry secret 😉
I just bought a 05 lly
Hell yeah! @johnson35091 give us a call when you're ready to add some power to that thing.
Big power is definitely on the menu once I get her looking good
Just put in a lift pump that will solve most of the low fuel rail pressure
Duramaxtuner :As far as the tuner, what if you arent sure what modifications have been done?
Great question Daniel! If you are unsure of what modifications have been done to the vehicle we can simply provide you with a no modification tune to start. This should still allow the truck to run just fine, the only downside is it won't extract any additional power from the modifications you could have. However, if you do discover a modification that has been made later down the line or the truck doesn't run correctly due to some modification being present. We can always send you a tune revision at no extra cost. Hope this helped @DanielBarker1969
Wish I had kept my 04.5
Understand that.
#1 mod, move the hell out of the rust belt
At 53 I'm wondering if I can still get smart and leave!??! LoL
Can somebody start making new injector computers please. I can't find any
FICM shortage.... chip issues are hitting everywhere. Sorry.
Gonna have to buy a million dollar used one. Unfortunately the plandemic and Great Reset are screwing all of us.
Forgot the downpipe
Sticker is more important these days😂
That gm engineer that designed the stock elbow got move and engineered the 8 speed transmission. Complete pile of crap!
Def did not keep his job
@@Duramaxtuner if you have seen the amount of warranty problems with the gm 8-speed transmission, you would definitely think he worked on it. 😉
@@briannelson2818 if you think you are making big gains on a stock truck with an turbo intake elbow you are out to lunch XD
The Problem with tuning a diesel theirs more to it and People watch You Tube and instantly become Diesel mechanics let some one that knows what their doing to Work on Your Truck
