- In this review, I'm going to take a look at another beer from the Deschutes Brewery (@deschutesbrewery), and it's their Fresh Squeezed IPA. This is an American IPA that is brewed with Citra and Mosaic hops. Full disclosure, I've had this one numerous times before, but never reviewed it. Deschutes now distributes to NY state, which I'm super pumped about, so I had to grab a relatively fresh can of this to properly review. Let's see how it is!
Commercial Description:
There's no standing on ceremony when Fresh Squeezed IPA comes around. We've crafted the perfect beer for showing up, hanging out, and kicking back. A refreshing blend of juicy and tropical hops keeps the day young and good times rolling.

When I tell you there was a time where this was my favorite beer, buddy I mean I drank this all the time. I sat in Portland at the Deschutes spot in 2017 and drank Fresh Squeezed from the teet until I couldn't drink any more. Those were good times. Citra & Mosaic is such a legendary combo and its what made me seek out Focal. Its been years since I've had this. I really should revisit it. You got me all in my feels.
While I love the "Is X still great" series you're doing from Tree House, we need you to go back to the old shelfie beers like this and revisit 'em. I'd love to see you review this, Jai Alai, and many others. So much fun, especially nostalgia-wise, with reviews like this. Great story, too. I hope you do it, brother!

I was lucky enough to visit Deschutes a few years ago. They make some great beers. I enjoy the Fresh Squeezed, its a solid beer when you don't want something crazy. I did not realize it was that expensive now.
Noice! Yeah, I dig their stuff, and their Black Butte Porter = one of the best within the style (along with Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald). Fresh Squeezed is definitely a damn solid beer. It's a bit more pricey than I expected, too. Thought it was because I'm in NY state, but I was surprised at the price on their website. Still worth it, though!

I remember this beer being once of the first IPA in that I really in enjoyed (along with SN’s Torpedo). Still holds up today even after all the IPAs I have had. The one Deschutes beer I haven’t had in a long time is Chainbreaker White IPA. That was hazy flavor without the haze. Cheers 🍻!
Man, I forget about Chainbreaker! Never had it, but I didn't love White IPAs, but I'd totally try it nowadays. I also wanted to try their summer beer, which I believe is called Twilight. I also want to drink some Jubelale. I hope all these beers show up, haha!

It's a good go-to, for sure. I've always enjoyed The Abyss and their Black Butte Anniversary beers. I hope they make it to NY state later this year. I also want some Jubelale!

If I make it to the PNW, Deschutes is 100% on the list. I've been wanting to go there since the mid-2010s. Maybe someday!
We just started getting Deschutes.... so I'm a bit excited. Only had the black butte when i was in Texas. Don't know what i think of them yet

I think Black Butte is one of the best American Porters out there, so hopefully I see a review from you, brother! They make some good beer at a great price point, IMO. Definitely old school, but quality through and through.

My “first” favorite beer of all time if that makes any sense! I’d probably put it on my top 10 of all time. It’s up there with Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. I don’t need to be blown away. This style just works. It gets extra points for being from Oregon - I get to day dream of dense pine forests and snow capped volcanos while I sip it lol
LMAO! Listen, if I could drink this in Oregon and enjoy the scenery, I'd bump this a quarter point, too! I totally get it, man. I never loved it, but I always thought the quality is there. Glad you still love it. Still need to review SNPA, but it's hard to find singles of that (much like Jai Alai from Cigar City). Might have to bite the bullet and buy a six pack, but I ain't complaining!

@@averagejoe716 I don’t think buying a six pack of Sierra Nevada would ever be a mistake. I had some a couple months ago, it’s crazy how great they still are even with the endless sea of modern IPAs we have access to
Yeah, I just don't drink as much off-camera because of my open-heart surgery from 2021, but I could probably make the other five bottles disappear in due time, haha!
